SUPPER CLUB - Monday, July 24

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jul 24, 2023 6:53 am

Good morning,

WE are cooling off today to about 68* and should have some rain. Ahhhh ....... Though to be honest, our highs have only been in low to mid 80's - not like the rest of the country in triple digits.

Yesterday I made my mug rug for Marcie - I used the cocoa mug pattern from Lori Holt's Vintage Christmas book. Then I wrapped all my little gifts in tissue paper, filled the tote bag I made, packed it into a Large Pirority box and taped it up. Then I saw the mug rug still sitting on my work table! I had to untape it all and re-do. But it's now in the mail. Then I got my sister's set of 8 placemats made, though I need to quilt them today. Then her gift will be finished, too.

JANA - your girls arrived yesterday evening. Such a long day for them - 13 hours. They looked so tired, especially Sandee. Very brave and adventurous of them to take on this trip but they are doing well! We got them set up for the night and took them up on the deck for a visit before bedtime. Got to see pictures of all your grands! What a good lookin' crew you have!

TINA - I hope you slept better last night. I was thinking yesterday I should make chili rellenos one day soon.

CAROL - I hope you don't have to drive for a few days until your street is "un-slurried".

LORI - glad your group found such a great place!

BECCA - we don't do much writing anymore in this electronic age.

Tonite we're having tomato basil soup and grilled cheese. Bill wanted it last night but we decided to eat the jambalaya leftovers instead.

What about you?

Good Evening,

Maryz - We had a breeze today too and a clear beautiful day. Marcie is very lucky to receive a "just because" gift.

Jana - Hope the girls are enjoying their trip. It sounds like they are doing a lot of driving.

I went for a walk this morning and noticed a sign on a neighbor's fence saying the yard was a "Certified Wildlife Habitat". I just Googled it, and it is available in 38 states. I want to check it out further. It sounds interesting.

This afternoon I had my annual eye exam. You know the one where the Ophthalmologist checks your retina by dilating and taking pictures? Turns out there is swelling on my retina, and she wants to do it again in six months. If the swelling is still there, she will send me back to Retina Specialist. I haven't seen the Retina Specialist since just before the Pandemic. I hadn't had any shots in the year before, so I felt comfortable skipping the appointment in April 2020. Let's hope this swelling goes away.

Dinner tonight was Linguini and Spaghetti Sauce and a salad.

Carol
