SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, July 23rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jul 23, 2023 6:28 am

Good morning,

Yesterday was a busy day - I got my long list of uglies done AND finished my table topper. Today I plan to make a mug rug to complete the gift I've been assembling for my niece (tote, tissue holder, TT, and mug rug as well as a few other little items.) No occasion - just because I love her and she could use a "Let's Spoil Marcie" day. I think next up will be cat placemats for her mom's birthday. I made her a tote, too, and I want to fill it up with goodies. Placemats should do the trick!

CAROL - good on you for being persistant about the pool. The safety of the little ones is paramount. I'm sure Code Enforcement has to do it properly, though, with letters, notices, etc. It takes time. Would be nice if it were Jana's Aaron you were dealing with! Nice to be able to donate such beautiful quilts to someone who needs them. They will be loved and appreciated for a long time to come.

BECCA - Great that you can go for a swim! The place where you live has a pool? Indoor or outdoor? You said you were going to do some writing? Correspondence? Family history? Or perhaps creative writing? Writing is one of my hobbies that have gone by the wayside since quilting took over my life. But if I were young and choosing a new career, writing would be in the running!

LORI - how did the new sewing place work out for your group? I'm not a great sheet folder either because I'm simply too lazy to do it. But I can if I have to. I have two sets of cotton sheets and two sets of flannels for our king and I always carry an extra set in the trailer (queen) because like you said - barf happens.

JANA - how are things going at your quiet house? Did you take Mr Grumpy-pants for a ride? The airbags are a worry, but I would also worry about the seatbelt. Maybe a nice hour sitting on your back deck with a book would suffice as "getting out of the house" for a while longer. We're ready for Sarah and Sandee to arrive. Looking forward to it, but don't expect them until pretty late. Bill told them if they have any problems, to give him a call but sounds like they are doing just fine on their own!

Our jambalaya last night was tasty. I just tossed things into the pot. There is enough left for tonite, but we might be having tomato basil soup and grilled cheese sandwiches instead. Bill will choose. Either works for me.

What are you choosing tonite?

Mary, your niece will be very happy to get a "just because" gift. They are the best. As far as sheets, why fold if you don't have too. Like laundry, I don't mind putting it in the washer and dryer. It's the folding and putting away that I don't like. Yes, the place will work out. It's perfect.
Has everything we need and it's a store in case you forgot or need something. Win, win!

We're off to the park with the boys this morning. It's still cool, so it should be a nice walk. I'll be sewing a bit later.

Dinner will be BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, and a veggie.

Have a lovely day.

Dinner tonight was a bowl of Vegetable Barley Soup and a slice of 10-Grain Bread.

I can now walk in my workroom. I cut lots of fabric, but know I have lots to cut still. I think tomorrow I will be pin basting quilts. I have an eye appointment at 1:30 PM. They are going to slurry the streets in the neighborhood this week and they are starting on a very important on to exit the neighborhood.

Lori - Did your boys enjoy the park? Nice to meet in a store so you can shop too.

Becca - I have to practice writing. My hands get very sore and my handwriting has changed.

Maryz - Yes, your niece is going to love her gifts.

Jana - Did you stay in your cool Batt Cave all day? Bet you got lots done!

Hi all, I'm late late.
I haven't been sleeping very good the past couple of night so I've been really dragging.
We had chile rellenos and rice for supper.
It's time to get ready for bed. Just wanted to stop by and say hi.
