SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, July 9th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jul 09, 2023 6:11 am

Good morning,

It's a pretty morning here. And the roosters and other birds are really enjoying it! I think the owls are sleeping in. We're to go to about 76 today.

Yesterday was a big day in my sewing room - I finished my OWL! Got it quilted, bound, labeled, and it's ready to hang. I posted a photo in the On Wander Lane thread if you'd like to see. Then I cleaned up my sewing room, did 2 loads of laundry, and after that I took my book out onto the deck. Today will be grocery shopping, some cleaning, and maybe a bit of yard work. I might even start cutting out the last flannel shirt since I don't have any other project in progress. Bill found a couple of yellow jacket nests haning off our eaves. He knocked one down and last night he sprayed the other one so this morning we'll see if he got them. If not, it's off to Home Depot for more bee spray.

BECCA - I thought about you a lot yesterday. I know it was a difficult day for you. I sent you a cyber hug.

CAROL - sounds like you had a fab time! Glad all the classes were wonderful. How many did you take? How long is your trip to Monterey? It's SOOO pretty there! When Bill worked for City of Tacoma, they sent him there on a conference and I went along. They served a customer appreciation dinner in the Aquarium. And they served FISH!! I thought it was poor form to serve fish with all the fish in the tanks watching us eat their cousins! (and yes, I ate it but I didn't like it!) Anyway, have a good time. How long will you be gone?

TINA - Oh, I'm so sorry about the A/C going out - again! I wonder if other customers have had the same problem. Are you still under warranty or are you on your own now? I will try to take a closer photo of the quilting on my OWL. But I just tried to mimic the quilting on the pattern. I had to hold it under a light and really scrutinize it to see though. And going around all those buttons was a challenge!

LORI - I'm so glad you are having such a good time! And aren't alpacas fun! I'm not sure what the difference is between llamas and alpacas but I like them both!

Supper tonite is going to be a leftover II event. Last night was stirfry made from leftover chicken, rice, and veggies. Now Bill can have the leftovers of that and I'll have Cheerios or scrambled eggs. I want to clean out the fridge because we have new food coming in tomorrow night - pork tenderloins.

What's topping your menu today?

Good morning all 🌞
Mary, your high is lower than our low, wish I had your temps!
I looooove your Owl quilt and the quilting!
The AC that went out is our mini split that's in the addition because there's no ducting down there. It has a 10 year warranty but only on parts, the labor warranty was only good for a year. I'm having a local guy come check it out Friday, I'd rather pay him than the company from Cruces who installed it and already had to fill it 2 times.
I'm not sure about supper yet. I had a rough sleepless night so hopefully inspiration will hit me later.
Tina
