SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, June 17

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jun 17, 2023 6:24 am

Good morning,

Yesterday was mammo, Oct OWL, and yard work. We are cool and wet this morning so it looks like it will be an indoor day - and maybe an errand day, too. And a small chore day, as well as a sewing/reading/cross-stitching day. Wow! Looks like it's turning into a busy day!

BECCA- I think I have a little more understanding of your family now. CA's middle name must have been Alexander? Our DGS#2 is Alexander but goes by Alec. It sounds like you have lots of choices for supper - yum! Do you order the day before?

JANA - yay for the kids! It is going to be so much fun for them to set up their own new home. Will they finish their painting/carpeting before moving in? I do cross-stitch, but I fear I'm on my last big project - Kumquat's Christmas stocking. My hands, wrists, and shoulders, not to mention eyes, are not cross-stitch friendly any more.

CAROL - I was wondering the same things as you asked yesterday? Are Jana's kids waiting to move in until painting and carpeting done? And does Becca make her supper choices the day before or off a menu? We think, and question, alike! Your bean and barley soup sounds delicious. I've never used barley before. Maybe I should give it a try.

I don't know what to make tonite. I'm thinking of nothing. Do you think DH will notice?

Good morning!

OK - quick answers on the kids and moving in. Kari is doing a very good cleaning first. The upstairs, which has the master suite, Karlie's room, the play room and a large bonus area, are all getting new carpet. The carpet is chosen and will be ordered this morning. Daniel is painting the garage and putting a epoxy coating on its floor - starting today. The carpet is about a 5 day lead time. So the move will be started after that. Kari is thinking that the storage totes could be hauled over from Sandee's and stacked in the basement, but haven't heard from Daniel on that idea. So about a week or so for them still here.

Dinner - the unknown is what is thought of right now.

I have the littles most of the day and Karlie has a bd party, so we're running every which way. Hope to sew.

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning,

Maryz - Unless you have a refrigerator full of leftovers I think your DH is going to notice your not fixing dinner. Of course, you might get an invitation to dinner tonight or at least to a happy hour.

Jana - Good idea to have inside painted and new carpet installed before the move. I think Kari has the right idea. She can clean the kitchen and bathrooms and have those rooms all moved in before the big move in. Life is much easier having kitchen and bathroom all done. Enjoy your littles today!

Becca - So glad you can choose your meals the day before. Your dinner sounds delicious.

Tina - Your dinner sounds good too!

I did a lot of reading yesterday. I finished two books. I should have been quilting. I will sew this afternoon. The soup last night was really good, but I think it should have simmered longer. It will be better tonight. Dinner tonight will be Bean and Barley Soup and Farro Salad.

Mary, I do nothing for dinner a lot. If Bill gets hungry, he'll make a sandwich or bowl of cereal.

Carol, two books? You must read really fast.

Jana, that's great the kids can get things done prior to moving in.

I vacuumed and did windows this morning. Then a few loads of laundry. I also put leftover batting together for a few smaller quilts. I found a stitch on the Bernina that will sew it together without any puckering. Also sewed a back for one. Then I quilted the background for my Posey quilt. The flowers are 3D and go on after. I still need to make more flowers for it.

Dinner was cereal.

Sleep well.
