Supper club. Thursday, June 8

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jun 08, 2023 6:35 am

Good morning

This will be a short one on my phone. It has been super hot here. We have been managing with the fans we brought along. We are either in AC truck, cool wineries, or in our trailers until late afternoon. The mosquitoes here are hungry and voracious. We have never seen the mosquitoes so bad in this park. Perhaps in the past they sprayed

This morning while walking Scotty Bill saw a wild animal that looked like a 30 pound black panther. But other than mountain lions and bobcats and lynx, there are no other wild cats recorded here. It’s a mystery.

We grilled hamburgers for our crowd last night and tonight. The last couple in our group are providing supper. She says it is an Asian salad of some sort. A cool supper to end the hot day.

My sister and brother-in-law will leave us in another hour or so. It has been a good visit with them (for the most part 🤪). We will probably see them again in November in Texas for a week or so.

Jana, sorry about your bumper thumper. I hope all is resolved OK. And that Sarah is going to be fine, too.

Lori, how was the wedding?

Tina, hope you are recovered from the long ride. I kind of wonder why you went along, knowing how hard it is on you. Does your chiropractor give you any exercises to do?

Carol, weren’t you working on about three bindings?

I am looking forward to going home tomorrow. 65° and a little rain. My kind of weather.

Good morning all!
Mary, wonder what that black cat was, hmmmmmm. 🤔 keep Foxy inside, yikes.
Frankie doesn't go on trips without me, I'm his navigator LOL he doesn't know how to use a flip phone let alone a smart phone with a map and step by step instructions. But I wanted to go anyways, I'm so tired of not going anywhere.
Yep I do exercises for my back and sciatica and leg, my weight doesn't help and I try to really watch what I eat, Holly thinks I keep my body in starvation mode because I eat so little but you'd think I could shed some pounds.... well I have lost 15 but it's a struggle to just keep that little bit from creeping back on. I sure hope I can start walking again soon.
Mosquitos! Ugh they love me!
Jana, sorry about your bumper thumper, I hope all works out.
Lori, yay for finding buttons! How was the wedding or is that today?
Becca, how goes the unpacking and putting away?
Carol, did you get all your bindings on?
Where's Irish?
I'm going to do some vacuuming and bathroom cleaning and tidying up, maybe Jazmyne will help me and I'll hopefully still be able to get me 2 other little June blocks done today so I can get back to my other quilt, I want to get it finished and move on LOL
Supper hmmmmmm I have to check the freezer.... maybe chicken.... orange chicken with veggies and rice, if I have what it takes to make it that'll be supper.

Good Morning,

Maryz - No, it wasn't me, I think it was Lori. I do have three quilts to quilt though, then I will do the binding. I understand why you want to go home today. It would be easier to say good-bye to Tina and Al if you were also leaving.

Tina - I have lost a few of those "creeping" pounds since changing to eating Mediterranean food. I found the trick to changing eating is to find recipes with ingredients you already know you like plus maybe one new one.

Jana - Sorry about the fender bender. Glad to hear you took lots of pictures.

I found a Farro salad recipe on Betty Crocker yesterday and will make that today and also make some Tomato Soup. (I have never had Farro, but like the other ingredients. I have made the Tomato Soup recipe and we both like it.)

Carol
