SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, May 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue May 02, 2023 7:54 am

Good morning,

It's a pretty morning here and should be going to about 72*. Yay! We get two days of this before back to several days of 50's and 40% chance of rain. Yesterday was another full day. A little bit of work in the sewing room on my OWL, cleaned and organized all the pantries in the house, garage and trailer. And then I cleaned the entire trailer. Whew! Took me all day! Plus we took a precious hour of our lives to go to the phone store where I bought a new phone. Ugh! I hate phone stores. At least they had a place to sit while waiting, and a big screen TV playing an old episode of Bonanza to keep us occupied while we waited. This morning we have an appt with our attorney to update our wills and durable power of attorney and after that I'll work in the yard. And probably a little fun time in the sewing room with my Feb OWL.

LORI - I'm looking forward to seeing that pack of dogs!

CAROL - I like Ken Burns. He's such a good narrator and he does some audio books, too. But everytime I hear his name my mind goes first to the other Ken Burns who played Capt Parmenter in F-Troop and he was also in Mama's Family. How is your DH's cold?

JANA - I can't wait to see if your new fridge is purrfect!

BECCA - Will you have all new doctors after you move? We had major construction along a 10 mile corridor of I-5, right at our exit in Tacoma - for TWENTY years!! They just finished it off two months ago and it was a big news story here about how long it had gone on. And as for machines, I have my good Bernie, my old Bernie for travel which is packed away in the trailer, and my Featherweight which I haven't used in about 5 years. It would need oiling, I'm sure, and that is a big deal. Bill took an 8-hr class once in how to oil a Featherweight. I actually would like to sell it. And since my good machine will be back in about a week, it's not worth getting my travel machine out. So - I"m doing other stuff that I've been putting off for far too long. I need the machine to be gone more like 2 weeks!

Tonite should be nice enough to grill so I'm thinking pork chops. And maybe potato packets and a salad.

How about you?

Good afternoon from a very chilly, rainy (sometimes white stuff), SW. Pa...Glad I didn't put away all my winter clothes or take the electric blanket and flannel sheets off the bed.....It's been a fun day so far but of course, now I'm ready for the recliner....My sister helps out with the voting and needed to take a refresher lesson this morning and knowing there is no parking near the courthouse, I dropped her off...Then decided to stop at my PCs to get a few RX renewed and get my shot...I've had a hard time getting through on the phone, so thought, easier to just stop....Then went back and picked up my sister and since it was still too early for lunch, stopped at the Dollar General just for milk and bread, yea right...That milk and bread cost me over $50.00...Then it was lunch time and since she carries a bag full of gift cards, she said, we were going to Olive Garden.....Needless to say, both of us are ready for the recliners...When I dropped her off, she said, we gotta do this more often.... I need more than 1 B-12 shot to do this very often!

Mary, I need to know what you take to be able to do what you do??? I've never known anyone who gets so much accomplished in one day...Just blows my mind! I know what you mean about those phone places, yuck...Thank goodness I have Kathy and depend on her to help me when it's time...I just shake my head when these young whippersnappers start talking in "phone language" the same with computers....I was thinking I really need to make an appointment to update my will etc. Jim and I had wills drawn up about a year before he passed and there wasn't much to it...But when I was in the hospital and went through that "near death episode" and seeing Jim, I sat up most of the night and wrote up a new one and here it is months later and I still haven't seen the attorney.....On my list to do, for sure!

Now that I'm home and nice and warm, all I want to do is, nothing! I had so many plans but I guess tomorrow is another day....I've been doing a lot of crocheting and just need to put the binding and label on Maeve's quilt...Hopefully, then be able to move outside and hope the weeds play nice...

For my dinner, I really had thought about meat loaf but Olive Garden had a "take home" special so tonight might be spaghetti, if I can get out of the recliner long enough to heat it up, lol.....

Hope you all are doing well and able to do something fun today and
have a great rest of the day!
Happy eating.............

Good afternoon!

Well, the refrigerator fits perfectly! I even have a paper printed manual to learn everything it does. Now to find out how to make it take out dinner fixings and do it for me! It has one of those door in a door features that will take time getting used too. It makes crushed ice, regular ice and those fancy round ball ice cubes. But first, there's always a but first, I need to flush the water system and throw away the first batches of ice.

Daniel went to work late and got the fix it problem panels cut and in place. He also sprayed the wet areas with a mold killer, even though there was only one tiny spot of mold. Just to be sure. We had some spray at Sandee's, from when her basement flooded.

Now to figure out the best usage of the shelves and door cubbies. It's currently set up for milk on the door, but that doesn't stay cold enough for our liking. So I start to see what works.

Dinner - unknown at this time. I do need to get a good chocolate cream pie for my Daniel. He earned it! Literally he jacked that refrigerator out of it space. Tried something, didn't work, then tried something else, that failed, but he persisted until he succeeded! About 3 hours last night. He was ready to load that old refrigerator onto his trailer, drive to the nearest cliff and shove it off!

So I am off to the kitchen to work,

Hugs
Jana

Good Afternoon,

After a trip to the dermatologist my face has a bright red spot bigger than a quarter on the cheek. I then stopped at Joanne's for Velcro and plastic boxes for quilting thread. I stopped in at Macys and found sheet sets marked way down as well as casseroles and a plastic egg container. I have two of the egg holders now and needed a third one. Next I went to Costco to buy eggs, fruit and some chicken. I got home to have a great lunch.

Jana - Glad the new refrigerator found its home and is fine! We don't put milk on the door either. I like all my condiments on the door. I put the peanut butter in the door too. The mayo, mustards, pickles and Catsup is on one shelf then on another is things like salad dressing, soy sauce, orange sauce, teriyaki sauce, Worcestershire sauce. You get the idea. I think there are two shelves of cooking style condiments. It works very well. It pays to have things organized. DH has even learned to put things back where he found them.

Irish - Stopping for lunch was a great idea for a take out dinner. What a great idea?!!

Maryz - Ken Burns was wonderful. We now need to sign up for next season of speakers. Twenty years to fix a road? That is unbelievable!! Glad you are getting other stuff done.

Dinner will be Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Salad and a vegetable.

Carol
