SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, April 8
Good morning,
Well, it's the first day of the rest of Kumquat's life. And we still don't know her official name. I think A&A are wanting to get to know her a little before they finally settle on a name for good. But it was exciting yesterday to watch the clock and finally get that text from Daddy saying she was there and mommy and baby were both doing fine. I wonder if Daddy has ever changed a diaper. . . . I know Autumn changed a few on my two grandsons who are now almost 26 and 30 yrs old. She's rusty. lol! But they'll be pros by the end of the weekend!
Yesterday I kept busy in the sewing room while I waited for that phone call. I made 3 bindings and got two sewn on. I do them all by machine so one quilt takes me about an hour. I also sewed labels on 4 quilts. Today, Kumquat's Kats go on the LA and I'll start quilting that. The only top left in the QQ is Crazy, but it's big enough to count for two! lol! So Bill will load the cats this morning while I dust and vacuum my sewing room. My March lotto winnings are in the mail, I've been told, so I'll have another top to assemble soon, but that will be it. After that, my sis will be here until second week of June so sewing will stop for duration of their visit. Then I'll probably circle back to Christmas shirts for the boys.
BECCA - I'm sure you will have a great time at your son's, especially with all those little ones on deck! What fun they will be. I hope Carol is home from the hospital by now or soon will be. I know, she is really missing little Frankie!
CAROL - Thank you - we're heard nothing more from the new parents other than time, weight, and length and that both are OK. I haven't called or texted them, giving them their uninterrupted time with the baby. However - that stops today!! If we don't hear anything by afternoon, I AM texting them! lol!
VELDA - I hope your dr appts went well. Potato soup sounds delicious to me. I found an amazing recipe and we ate a vat of it a week or two ago. It calls for bacon, but that could be left out for Lenten Fridays. We always had pancakes or eggs or mac & cheese for Friday suppers when I was growing up. In those days ALL Fridays were meatless. My parents never had fish unless my dad caught trout. Ugh. When we had pancakes for supper Mom often added creamed corn or shredded cheese to the batter to make them more hearty.
I haven't given a thought to supper tonite. We might just have grilled cheese sandwiches and a salad. I don't have any tomato soup on hand and I sure don't want to go to the store today! Nor do I want to fix anything that will leave me with leftovers tonite because we're having a ham dinner tomorrow.
So, what are you having for supper tonite?

Good Morning!
Maryz - Welcome to the new baby! Glad to hear Autumn is doing well. Since she had a C-section how long will she stay in the hospital? You made good use of your waiting time yesterday!
Today I have a Zoom meeting in the morning for the Southern California Council of Quilt Guild (SCCQG). Today is Meet the Teachers. I am on the technical team and with another person will be handling spotlighting the speakers. Twenty-five speakers are scheduled to attend. Each speaker has three minutes. This is an event that Guilds can hear what a speaker has to say about their talks and hear how they talk. It used to be held in person but now is on Zoom. Reason a member Guild had to host the event, get a venue set up and tear down. Now on Zoom it is much easier and Guild from Bakersfield to San Diego can easily attend the event without travel. As of last night 180 people have signed up to attend. Pre-registration was necessary.
This afternoon I have another Zoom Sew-in. I may not attend all of it. I need some exercise after being on Zoom all morning. I also would like to do a little more house cleaning. lol
Dinner tonight? We too are having ham tomorrow and we have a few leftovers in refrigerator. Maybe we will eat them for lunch? I think we will have chicken but not sure.
Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
Carol

Congratulations on new Grandbaby! So happy to hear, everyone is doing well.
Tonight we have a dance. Planning on Wendy's for our meal before the dance.
I was sewing all morning. Stopped for lunch, will go back to sewing again after 1 :00.
Finished all my " to do" list to accomplish for morning. I still have 5 bibs to top stitch and then add Velcro closures to all 10 new bibs.
Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.

Mary, how wonderful for your family to welcome a new member. Welcome to the world baby Kumquat.
Carol, I hope there are some new and interesting teachers this year.
I started a butterfly quilt. Butterflies are the main block with daisy sashing. It's a patter from Edyta Sitar and her Accuquilt design. I've go everything cut. Fusing on the butterflies now. Then I'll make the daisy's.
It's going pretty fast. This one will be for my other niece.
Dinner will be leftovers.
Have a lovely day.

Hi everyone!
Congratulations Mary!
I've been crazy busy, yesterday was all about yard work. I did the weed eater, leaf blower, pulled some weeds, raked and watered everything. Jazmyne helped rake and clean and Frankie moved a big flower pot I had and that needed to be moved by the dolly and then he cleaned up around my red yucca. He spent the morning fixing a water leak before he could help in the yard.
Jazmyne has been helping me bake some things today, we're still working on that.
I just wanted to stop in and wish you all a Happy Easter for tomorrow because I may not get back here tomorrow.
Hugs!
Tina
