SUPPER CLUB - Wed, April 5th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Apr 05, 2023 4:47 am

Good morning,

I was up very early this morning. My eyes sprang open and that was that! Looks like I'll get an early start in the sewing room today. Yesterday I got my cat quilt all together and ready to go into the QQ. I posted a photo if you'd like to see it. I laid those blocks out on the living room carpet several times while arranging them and each time Foxy ran and laid down right in the middle of all the other cats! lol! Today I am going to make my little sister, Teese, a patriotic tablerunner for her birthday. I already made her a Mickey Mouse tote, added a packet of daisy seeds (her favorite flower) and when I get this TR finished I'll pop the entire shebang in the mail to her. Her BD is April 30. If I still have sewing oomph left in me after finishing the runner, I will bind my Christmas Blizzard quilt. If not, I guess I'll do that tomorrow. And I really need to get busy on those labels.

JANA - have you got more snow? is school in session today? At your house still? Good thing you have a big table. One end is sewing room and one end is school room! And yes, you know it! about 58 hours to go! :D

BECCA - you have been having some nice walking weather! It's in the 30's here in the mornings. I am so bundled up I feel like the little kid in Christmas story! How did Frankie's dr appt go? I bet your family is thrilled to have her finally!

CAROL - you've really traveled the U.S. How did you get to CA from Ohio? I'm always interested in why people move. I actually lived in Denver for about 2-1/2 months once back in 1974. Circumstances with DH1's job changed and we moved back home. Were our moms ever happy about that!!.

Supper tonite is still up in the air, but I do have a meatloaf in the freezer and potatoes to bake. Lots of carrots, too. Don't think I'll buy them at Costco again!

What's happenin' in your kitchen?

Good Morning,

Maryz - My parents moved from Ohio to California when I was 3 years old. My sister and I are the only one of six children born in Ohio. The two older boys were born in California as were the two younger, a girl and a boy, born in California. You know the snow Jana is now complaining about? The reason my parents moved was because of the cold and snow. BTW my grandparents also moved to California in the 1950's too for the same reason.

Maryz - Have you ever been to the Sisters, Oregon show or the Walla-Walla, Washington show? https://www.soqs.org/https://wallawallaquiltfestival.org/ I got an American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine email yesterday listing many quilt shows. It would be fun to go to a few.

The winds seem to have stopped here and it is going to be a nice sunny day. It was beautiful here yesterday with the mountains covered in snow and a clear day although it was quite windy and a bit of a chill. It makes me smile to see the mountains with snow. Good weather is coming!

Dinner tonight will be Chicken.

Carol

Good afternoon!

I have a minute before we run off to do some errands. We need milk at Costco. Lila will be the helper. Her fee is a slice of Costco pizza.

Dinner - something may jump in the basket along with the milk, we'll see. I need to take Gracie to activity day later this afternoon. No cello run, as that school is on spring break.

We are done with snow and have blue sky. The forecast is for the warm to start! By Thursday next week, it will be 80! Snow gear to swim suit weather. That's nice to be warm, but very bad for the snow melt. Too fast and flooding is predicted. We will all be fine. The only one that might have trouble is Aaron. The huge retention pond area, has flooded before. This area is his backyard at the townhomes where he lives. Here in Utah, they make a deep area that catches the water and it drains into the surrounding soil. One time, Aaron's filled up to about waist deep, but that was still lower than getting in his house. The area is grassed and has play structures when it's not dispersing the extra water. It's where all the kids play otherwise.

Not much else happening here. Sandee has a job interview today. Unless they offer a huge chunk more money, she's not taking it. Too far of a commute from here. She has several other irons in the fire too. Or she'll stay put.

Easter dinner will be at least 21 at Matt's house. Sarah's MIL will be with us, as well as my other niece and nephew, Sandee's brother and sister. There is some family drama starting - my nephew 's wife, who'll be there, has stated she's going to start divorce proceedings. We will smile sweetly and watch to see what happens. Not a good situation. Dinner will be the traditional ham, potatoes, green stuff, rolls, etc. I'm doing the green stuff and the potatoes.

Time to scoot off to Costco,
Hugs,
Jana

Hi ladies. Today was busy. Both DH and I had appts. to see the cardiologist . Both had good reports. DH return in six months. I get a whole year until my check up!!
Then after lunch DH and I delivered the cookies, Easter Cards, and bib and lap quilts.
We had lots of rain this morning, but cleared up now about 3pm. Tonight is the first Wednesday night dance since Lent started. No Wednesday night church in Holy Week. We have Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services.
So tonight our meal will be fast food ( most likely Mc D's)
I made Velveeta shells and cheese last night. I really think I like Kraft Mac n Cheese better. It's cheaper too.
Also I had made fruit n' jello. That was tasty for a change.
Hope you all are doing fine.
HUGS, 💕 Vel
