SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Feb 27

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:15 am

Good morning,

It's very "February-esque" outside this morning. Brrr!!

Yesterday we got the whole house cleaned and the laundry (2 loads) done. And I got 8 lotto blocks cut out. Friends came for supper and we had a nice evening. We even had entertainment! With the cold this week we've been having fires in the living room. It's been a big year for stink bugs and they hibernate. I guess they chose to hibernate in our house, perhaps under the couch? The warmth of the fires seems to have awakened them and I spent the evening catching them one by one and tossing them into the fire. The tenth one got away from me by crawling down the heating vent. It was entertaining to our friends to watch and keep count. I also sucked a few up with the vacuum earlier in the day. Today, I'm going to have Bill tip the two loveseats over and see what we can see . . . Double ick!!

I have nothing on my calendar today so I'm going finish my lotto blocks and maybe, since my scraps are all out and handy from working on lotto blocks, I will get some progress made on my crazy quilt. I've been dragging that project back and forth to Texas for 3 years. Time to turn to and just 'git 'er dun'! It's for our bed.

LORI - how was lunch yesterday? Did you have something yummy (and approved!!)? My sewing room is the second to last to get cleaned. Bill's office is very last. And it's a mess! And for all the cleaning I did yesterday, I, of course, didn't touch the office and that's exactly where our friends went to dump their coats! So maybe I'll take care of that today . . . I have to admit, most of the mess is mine - extra gift boxes piled on the floor, cookbooks that need shelving, the shallow top rack from the dishwasher, and folded Priority USPS boxes. Hope you get your walk in today. Give your boys a snarfle for me!

TINA - I remember now that little lip on the floor. When you said 'step' I was thinking a 7" tread and thought sure I'd have remembered that! lol! It will be nice to have the floor even again, though it will be harder to reach cabinets. I jealously guard every silly little quarter inch!!

CAROL - oh, now I remember your TW! Duh! Just whack me over the head! I loved your colors!

BECCA - sorry for the gall bladder issues. I had mine out in 2003. I never could pinpoint any particular foods that ignited an attack though.

VELDA - sometimes meds don't play well together. And all he might need to do is change the time of day when he takes them. And separate them. Bill's sis started taking her BP med in the morning instead of evening and that solved some problems for her. I hope all is straightened out soon.

For supper tonite we have a smorgasboard of leftovers! Split pea soup, pork chop and scalloped potatoes, chili, cornbread, and more. I think it will be open galley for us. And no cooking for me, unless it's to toss a salad.

What's going on in your kitchen tonite?

Good Afternoon,

This morning I had my annual mammogram. I looked at March calendar and realized my physical wasn't written down. Turns out I had scheduled three appointments for one day! Yikes! However, by switching from an online appointment to an in-person appointment I will be able to do it. It will work! Yea! So glad I caught it early.

Then I went to Costco. I ended up buying 60 eggs instead of my usual 24. I go through eggs pretty fast so I should be okay. (I have three egg whites for breakfast.) I think I may make some cookies to help egg usage. I have been folding fabric and trying to straighten the sewing room, but what I really want to do is sleep for a couple of hours to make up for lack of sleep last night.

Maryz - Glad you got everything neat and tidy. Finding bugs is not my idea of fun, however. Hope you got all of them. I do not clean my DH's study. It is a big mess! My room however is also a mess. I have several projects going right now and messes cannot be helped.

Becca - Good you are preparing today. Hope all goes well the next few days. Take care of yourself.

Dinner will be leftovers mostly. We have plenty of Turkey and gravy. Probably need potatoes and definitely will need vegetables.

Carol

Dinner is over we had what is called here - kitchen sink chili. Chili, rice, olives, onions, cheese, corn, sour cream, rice and corn chips. Dishes are done too.

See ya in the morning.

Hugs,
Jana
