We have about 1.5" of snow! Yay snow! But it's already turned to rain so it won't be here for long. Going to 43* today with 16mph wind. If I can't have snowy weather then I want spring weather! I know. Picky, picky.
Yesterday I finished my shirt but it's such heavy flannel the snaps won't go through it and be secure so I need to get bigger snaps. And a bigger pattern. I didn't do that yesterday so next Thursday we have to go to Tacoma for a recall on our pick-up and I'll stop at Joanns then. Joann's and the Dodge dealer are only 1/2 mile apart. So for now, I have no sewing project. I guess I'll give the March Lotto blocks a try. They look interesting. But first, I'm going to clean the house, do a load of wash, and make a pot of white chili. Friends are coming about 5pm for supper.
BECCA - Hoping all goes smoothly next week at your house. Avery is big enough for gymnastics?? How did that happen?? I bet she was cute to watch. And I like her menu choice!
IRISH - still so happy to have you back! I hear ya on the uglies. I always have big plans and so often just shrug my shoulders and toddle off to the sewing room. The fur kids always wait to see what I'm going to do because they want to be where I am - unless, of course, I'm near the running vacuum! lol! I don't think the shirt pattern I used (and used many times 30 years ago!) has shrunk. I think the problem must lie somewhere else.. ...

CAROL - I think Diane is also working on a Tennessee Waltz for her kids' 25th anniversary. I think she's using light/neutral colors, chosen by her DD. What colors are you using? I did mine ~5 yrs ago in black/gold/cream. My colors were chosen by my friend, for whom I made the quilt. Was supposed to be her wedding quilt, wedding never happened, so instead I gave it to her when she got sick with M.S.
VELDA - you made short work of those lap quilts! Nice! How was dancing? I could go for some sandwiches and pie . . .
JANA - Wouldn't we all love an Ethan to do the high in the sky work for us! I think I polished all my cabinets, including the ones with glass doors, about 6 or 8 month ago (before my family runion last Aug probably), so we're good here. For now. And we have no out-laws ever coming to our house. All my kids have such goofy in-laws - one is a pedophile and in prison, one deserted the family, one is a drug addled thief and living in a Utah commune (sorry!), and one is a destructive controlling son of satan who, thankfully, lives in FL. And two are dead. So, silver lining - they won't be visiting us any time soon!!
TINA - congratulations on your new appliances! I hope you get longevity out of them, but the truth is, they just don't make them like they used to. Good luck! I thought you had a wheelchair to use for such an occasion as shopping for appliances. And I don't remember a step up into your kitchen, just the two steps down to the lower, back section of your house. Maybe I just wasn't looking . . . .? Is it a little step? If Frankie takes that out, will he have to lower the entire kitchen floor?
I'm making white chili for friends, Tex & Annette, tonite. I'm going to put it into my new crockpot, though since everything is already cooked it only needs to heat and let the flavors meld so it won't have to cook all day. I'll make cornbread, too. They are bringing salad. And I want to make a dessert but just not sure what. Tex said they are on a new "program", aka diet. But he's always on a program of some kind, always different, and didn't say what it is. So I'm kind of flying blind. I do try to accomodate special diets, if I can. I have a few diabetic cookbooks and most of those recipes will fit many different diets, so I guess I'll look through those. We do have a big Lindt dark chocolate bar that I could just divide up and pass out. Once, at my neices, she passed around a tube of raw cookie dough for dessert. So, I do have ideas . . . .
What are you having tonite? Maybe I can steal a dessert idea???
