SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Feb 12th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Feb 12, 2023 7:15 am

Good morning,

Super Bowl today! A lot of folks have been waiting for this day. I'll watch and enjoy the game but it would be a lot more fun if it were our Hawks playing. Not sure who I'll be rooting for but probaby KC. But until the game starts I'll be dividing my time between the kitchen and the sewing room. I want to finish up my musk ox block that I was working on yesterday. These are huge blocks with about 175 pieces each so they take a while.

BECCA - Nice that you have your meals all prepared for you! When you move will you do your own cooking again or will meals be provided? It will be nice to see your neice tomorrow!

TINA - glad you suffered no lingering effects from overdoing the other day. When I think of you, the back of my knee hurts! What do you call "simple" burritos? Do you just fill them with whatever's leftover in the fridge or do you have a certain way you make them?

VELDA - Yes, I'm sorry we missed out on dancing but I don't like being in crowds so I wasn't too disappointed. I'm glad you've found sources for your fabrics.

JANA - looking forward to you post about Aaron.

Another couple is coming to watch the game with us. I'll put out a few simple snacks but the main thing will be a baked potato bar. I'm going to make a pot of chili this morning and let it simmer in the crockpot. Snacks will be grapes, strawberries, two kinds of olives, pickles, and tortilla chips with salsa, queso, and jalapeno/artichoke dip. The topping choices for the potatos will be broccoli, chili, sour cream, shredded cheese, green onions, bacon bits, slice olives, and hot sauce. For afters I have two different Lindt chocolate bars to share. We also have beer, wine, O'Douhl's, and sparkling waters. No one should go away hungry!

What are you having tonite?

Good morning!

I put the Aaron story over in Sew in. Supp to be behaving and paying attention in church. So this will be short. Dinner is leftovers and maybe a little game watching.

Hugs,
Jana

Good Morning,

Yesterday I had a trip to Costco and the Stationery Store to buy a Valentine. The two took me all morning then I sewed in the afternoon. Today it was breakfast then sewing, then Mass, then cooking, walking and sewing and game watching. DH is from Kansas City and watched the playoffs very excited. He needed a walk afterwards to calm down. Today we will be cheering the Chiefs!

I have a new recipe for Tomato Basil Soup I want to make. I thought it might be nice with Macaroni and Cheese so will make that as well.

Maryz - You have been really busy since you have been home. Enjoy your get together. Cheer on the Chiefs!

Becca - Enjoy your day. I know Denise and Mark are enjoying having you close by right now.

Jana - I will need to go read about Aaron. If I do not post now this will not get posted.

Dinner - Tomato Basil Soup and Macaroni and Cheese.

Carol

Good afternoon. I did get to sew a bit today after church. Pastor's bday is the 15th, so they had a get together after church with Birthday Cake and coffee but we didn't stay. Cake at 10:00 in the morning didn't sound good, besides I can't eat cake anytime, anyway, and DH surely didn't need any either.
I had a lot of flannel pieces leftover from other bibs, so I put some together scrappy look, then cut cotton for the other side to match up 5 more bibs to donate.
After that we watched The Puppy Bowl on the Fox Network. Silly, but the pups are so cute! I bet a lot get forever homes from this.
I guess we will watch some of the Big Game ??
Not a football fan, but somehow the Super Bowl commercials have been a big drawing card for me. LOL
Leftover chili-mac here with toss salad.
HUGS, 💕 Vel
