SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Nov 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Nov 11, 2022 5:27 am

Good morning,

37* and dry here. Bill got more leaves picked up yesterday and then blew off the roof and cleaned the gutters. Again. Fall is a messy time of year when your house is in the woods.

Yesterday I got everything packed in the trailer. Just the fridge to go today. I cleaned upstairs in the house and even had time to finish up those last 8 stockings. Today - we'll deliver them. That will make a grand total of 51 stockings. If he needs more than that for his expanding family, he's going to have start exiling some folks! I'm done! While we're out, we'll take our 4 house plants to Grandson Drew in Bremerton and treat him to lunch at Olive Garden. From there, it's back to G.H. to meet more friends for HH back at the same Mexican restaurant we were at last night. We will be eating our way through the day.

LORI - I loved your quilts! The Wooded Whimsy is the one I already copied from you and gave to my grandson last weekend. He loved it. But I've never seen the other half-tree pattern before. I love it! You were holding out on me! What is the name of that one? I showed it to Bill and even he would like for me to do it next year.

TINA - I hope with the dizzy spells Frankie has been having that he doesn't get on the ladder. Maybe Kevin could come help over the weekend . . And I hope your kinky neck straightens out. A good excuse to sit with a heating pad and relax. I'm feeling for your poor Dad. I would think clear brothy soups with nothing in them that needs much chewing would be good for a few days.

BECCA - I'm glad you're done with the acupuncture. Will you get more from time to time if needed just to keep "in tune"? Nice to get all those leftovers cleared out and move on to new food, isn't it! Are your leaves still hanging on or are they all down now? Ours are all down in the front yard, but not the side yard. Oh well. It will give us something to do in the spring.

Between our 11:00am lunch at Olive Garden and 3:30 Happy Hour at Montazuma's today, plus leftovers from last night there will be no need for cooking for a while. Probably not even for eating! We have mac & cheese, pork chops, chicken enchiladas, and rice already in the fridge. Who knows what we'll collect today. I suppose it would be considered poor form to take leftovers back to the restaurant and ask them to be reheated.

What is tempting you tonite? I wouldn't mind sharing some leftovers . . . .

Good morning everyone!
Lori, I'm with Mary.... love both those quilts but I've never seen that half tree one before, I'd like to know the name too.
Mary, you sure are busy! Like always ❤ moss doesn't grow under your feet for sure. Have you seen those gutter guards? I wonder if they'd work for you all that have guess? Frankie isn't dizzy now but had a horrible earache and jaw ache last night, he was willing to go to the dr in the morning.... it's morning now and he's feeling better so he doesn't want to go, I'm trying to get him to go. He's driving me crazier than I already am! No work outside, that's fine I don't want him to get sicker.
I feel for Dad too ❤ thank you ❤
I'm not due about supper yet, probably leftover veggie beef soup.
I gotta scoot, there's gonna be a war of wills here. He needs to go to the dr so he doesn't have to go to the emergency room over the weekend, ugh.

The pattern is called "Merry Little Christmas." It was a kit with panel. This is where you can find the pattern.

Hi Everybody,
Happy Veterans' Day!
Guess I didn't post yesterday. Dinner was Marinated Chicken. I also forgot to post about Lori's quilts. Boy did I get a surprise on her half tree. I bought the same quilt kit and decided not to make the tree portion, but just make blocks. It is sitting on my quilting table waiting for me to get started. It is called "Merry Little Christmas Quilt Kit".

Lori - I loved both of your quilts! I like the half tree now that I see it made up.

Maryz - So you are all finished with stockings? I think only if he comes up with another quilt to be cut up. Think of all the free massages you will be receiving. You sound like you are ready to get started driving to Texas.

Becca - Yea! You are done with the acupuncture. It sounds like it worked for you, so happy news.

Tina - Sorry Frankie isn't feeling well but you are better? Hopefully you will get him to the doctor today.

I am working on my challenge quilt. I need to cut background pieces and sew things together. Today is bathroom cleaning and change bed with laundry of sheets and towels.

Dinner will be Marinated Chicken again. I really enjoyed it last night.

Carol

Mary, hope you had a great day of feasting.

Tina, I hope you can get Frankie to the doctor.

Carol, the tree is what I liked most about the quilt. It so unusual.

It was a tough afternoon. I went to a memorial for my friend that died in September.
Just family and close friends. The full military funeral will be Monday. Sandra was the most patriotic person I've ever know. She use to say she loved the sound of freedom, American jets flying over. So today was a perfect day to honor her.

Have a lovely evening.
