Our last morning in camp. We have had such sketchy cell service I haven’t even tried to post. I only have my phone.
We have had a great trip, explored the old campgrounds where our parents took us as kids. Had some relaxing time in camp, played dominoes and cards and had some great breakfasts and dinners cooked outside. One morning we even had 30 elk stop by. We later learned this Area is the largest population of Roosevelt elk in the country. Seems like they should be higher up in the mountains this time of year, not here they are at sea level, but maybe with such dry conditions there isn’t much to eat or in the mountains. Or maybe they just like park grass . They hung around for over an hour munching on the grass in the middle of our camping loop. It was amazing how quiet all the dogs in the campsites were. Even our Scottie.
But this morning it’s time to pack up and go home. We are about an hour and a half from home. This afternoon I will be emptying the food and clothes from the trailer and getting some wash started. Or, if my sister needs to do laundry, I will let her have the w/d first.
Jana, I see Kate is testing today. Good luck to her though I doubt she needs it! Your little girls certainly keep you on your toes!
Becca, you really have had some stresses in your life lately. I hope CA Doesn’t have any lasting effects from his fall. Remember, if he falls again and you can’t get him up 911 will always be happy to come help you.
Carol, how scary to find powerlines down like that. Glad you noticed them and I hope they got fixed pronto!
Lori, I saw your Halloween quilt. It will be fun to put out next month. I just put mine out before we left. I was tired of my summary ones.
Tina, how is the new little baby? I hope you were able to get your smoocher on him this week!
Thanks to everyone who started supper club this week. I sure missed you guys but it was nice to get away and I enjoyed spending time with my sister and brother-in-law. They will be with us until next Tuesday when they will start back to CO after the Labor Day traffic has cleared. My DD#1, Lara, and her DH visiting tomorrow morning. They drove across country from VA and are spending Labor Day weekend in Puget sound, probably staying with their son in Bremerton. They said they are coming to breakfast tomorrow morning. I have leftover cooked onion/peppers/mushrooms so I am going to mix them with eggs and bacon bits and hashbrowns and put them in the crockpot late tonight for breakfast tomorrow. It’s a great aroma to wake up to!
Tonight, I will either pull out our frozen leftover lasagna from two weeks ago, or cut up leftover grilled chicken, and pork tenderloin and add it to leftover rice from last night. It will make a great one pot meal. I will probably put green beans on the side. I will see what the crowd here prefers
What are all of you having for supper tonight?
