SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Aug 21st

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Aug 21, 2022 6:18 am

Good morning,

This week has been a whirlwind of activity! I hadn't planned too much ahead of time, but boy, howdy - have we been busy! Yesterday was a long day but a good one. Today - I'm making a pancake brunch and my older grandson is coming. This afternoon we're visiting a long time family friend (her deceased husband was Gene's best friend all his life), and then we'll visit another cemetery where our parents, grandparents, and brother Jim 'reside'. Tomorrow we have NOTHING planned. The fly-in folks will be packing up. They fly out EARLY Tuesday morning.

BECCA - it's so good to see you posting again. I'm sure it's difficult to find time. You have been busy. Are CA's shingles abating at all? He's had such a long seige of them. I hope you still have your housekeeper.

JANA - Sounds like your family has everything under control for tomorrow, and I'm sure Sandee will have lots of support from you all. How old is Sandee? Nice to have the boys organizing the garage. If you and Michael are happy with that then I'm happy!

CAROL - Your purses sound nice - fun to make and fun to use! I' m a fan of blue, too.

TINA - Those peaches sounds gorgeous. Yum!! And glad you are getting some rain. I hope it keeps up. We actually had a little bit on Friday - our first in 2 months. Just as the church down the road was having their outdoor rummage sale. They had to put plastic over all their tables.

As for supper tonite - I think it will be grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and maybe some tomato soup. It seems we all have smaller appetites than we used to. When I was little Gene (16 yrs older than I) told me that the rice in tomato rice soup was ant eggs. I knew it wasn't, but still - it was years before I could eat tomato rice soup! Just one of his many brotherly jokes. So if I find plastic spiders, don't feel sorry for him!!

What's cookin' at your house?

Good afternoon!

We have a Zoom meeting in a few minutes. It's to learn about what we now do for our church calling. Then I'll cook our Sunday brunch, hashbrowns and eggs. Nothing fancy. I half expect to see family today -in and out.

The other day, our Andrew turned 16! He's my second oldest grandson. Stu's the oldest at 25. Andrew is working on getting his DL. That is still aways off. He will get the old minivan as his car to drive. Crenda will not allow him to drive her new Tahoe. Ever!

Take care, Hugs,
Jana

Good Evening,

Maryz - This week must have flown by for you and your siblings! You must have the "good" tired feeling.

Jana - All I can say is thoughts and prayers from me tomorrow and ((hugs)). Hopefully there will be no drama.

Becca - You also must need some ((hugs)). You have been through so much and now you tell us there was a flood? Take care of yourself.

Last night we did not have chicken we had it tonight. Last night we had fast hash. I am so glad I held off the chicken. We had ordered a new toaster oven. It arrived for store pickup on Thursday, but I did not see the email until today. I cooked the chicken in the new oven, and it was delicious. We are getting rid of the Ninja. It is just too hard to clean.

Carol
