supper club - Friday, Aug 19

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Aug 19, 2022 6:16 am

Good morning!

After a day of 91* and high humidity (for us), we're to be a cool~ish 77* and there were a few rain drops a few minutes ago! Whoo Hoo!

Things are busy here at our house. For the most part, we're not doing a lot - just visiting, talking, and eating. We girls did go get pedicures yesterday and the day before we hit the local Goodwill. No fabric, but I did get a few books, a big motorcycle statue for my massage therapist, David, and a few other treasures. Today, we might go visit our parents', grandparents', aunts, uncles, and brother, JIm's graves - in small country cemetery less than a mile from our house. A small crowd of folks are coming for supper tonite - we're getting Take'n'Bake pizzas and will eat out around the campfire. I have a meet/n/greet appt with my new doctor this morning. Bill met her on Wed. She sounds like a Nazi doctor - a young woman fresh out of med school. I think she's forgetting we're in our 70's, not our 20's. I expect my life as I love it is going to come to a screeching halt.

TINA - I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better. And how did Matthew get to be $5?? And I have to tell you, I used your recipe & directions and we all had your Philly cheese steak sandwiches last night for supper and it was a hit all the way around - even with me! Me - who doesn't care for beef! And we passed around the leftover beef, cold, for breakfast this morning! Everyone voted it a keeper. Thanks!!!

LORI - As for bowling, my ball is 10#, blue. My bag is blue. I got it for Christmas in 1975. I know because I have a photo of myself with my 6 mo old son sitting up next to me in front of the Christmas tree with the new ball in my lap. And he was born in 1975. I guess it's 50th birthday will be rolling around in abut 3 yrs! I should take it out of the bag and give it a roll. My average used to be about 132. I wonder what it would be now.

CAROL - oooh, your stars! Are you making them 8"? Seems like that's what you said. What fabrics are you using?

Bill is sitting next to me, ordering our Papa Murphy's pizzas for tonite. We'll be our 6 plus 5 more. I hope 3 large does it. Plus a salad, watermelon, appetizers, and dessert. Folks are bringing those other things.

What's supper looking like at your house?

Good afternoon!

I think we are having meatloaf, twice baked potatoes, and a veggie to be named at a future time. All can change at a moments notice, with who and what might appear on our door step tonight.

Things are now all complete, the service is set. Sarah is cleaning Sandee's house right now. I am running down to open the hatch on my Highlander and have groceries put in. I got the Pledge I need to dust.

Then I can play in the Batt Cave. May even veg a bit, playing the old Nintendo game, Mario 3. I need to get good, as my grands all love to play against Grandma. I also want to sandwich my Halloween bench pillow. It's gotten put on hold.

Tina - so happy things seem to have passed! No fun before!

Mary - sounds like a great visit with your siblings!

On Monday, I will need to find my gracious face and screw on a smile. My older, not nice, late brother's family will be at the funeral. I can and will be nice, and not be snide. I am hoping that since the service is on Zoom, that they will take advantage of that, but I doubt it. Aaron is delivering the eulogy, Matt is delivering the sermon, and Kate, Crenda, Sarah, Joseph and our friend Jason are singing, Nearer My God to Thee.

Time to get groceries,
Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon, 5 o'clock on the deck with a glass of wine.

I got 3 Jeep loads of tree slash to the Forrest sort yard before the afternoon rain storm. Ckd mail, bought bird food and DH some beer. I'm using our old 2007 Jeep, with a tarp in the back, not our 2017 Jeep.

Tina, hope you are on the mend from that bugger.

Becca, I have never asked but am curious, is DH's name just CA or short for a longer name?

MaryZ, I may have missed it, but did you girls manage to scare brother with spiders?

I think dinner will be very simple, 2 individual size Schwan's lasagnas microwaved.

Jana, I'm sure Monday will be difficult, but I believe you will be your gracious self. So sorry you are going though this.

Mary, you've got some experience bowling. We've just always played for fun. We used to take the kids to bowl on weekends and they had fun stuff going on.

Carol, I was just watching a clip from the Long Beach show on Accuquilt and I saw you talking to the
representative. How fun. I didn't know you won an Accuquilt. You know I love mine. I use it a lot.

Nothing special for dinner. Just leftovers.

Have a lovely evening.
