SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Aug 12th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Aug 12, 2022 6:39 am

Good morning,

I slept soundly the last few nights and a good thing. Our to-do list is long and varied. We got most of it done yesterday but there's more to do today - shopping for one, because meat is on sale today at Safeway. I'll also mop the kitchen floor and do whatever else is on the list. I hope to find a few sewing hours today, too.

JANA - you and Karlie seem to be finding a lot of fun stuff to do! Having her help make the noodles is a good way to get her to eat something new to her. Do you roll them out yourself or have one of those pasta rolling gadgets?

BECCA - I feel for your sweet hubby! And you! Hoping they can get his pain under control soon.

VELDA - It is smart and responsible of you to isolate until you know for sure you are Covid free. But I'm sure it's a disappointment not to be able to help with the rummage sale. It would be for me, I know.

I think we'll have tacos tonite. If that's what Bill feels like when day is done. We may just feel like a pizza! And the more I think about it, the more I like that idea - So I guess we'll wait and be surprised!

What surprises will you be finding on your plate tonite?

Good Morning,

I was surprised by my dinner last night. We decided very late to have Stuffed Pepper Casserole. I had to start it at 5:30 PM. Finished eating at 7:00 PM which has been the normal here lately.

DH finished my Picnic Table (Birthday Gift). It is really beautiful. The varnish was still tacky yesterday so am looking forward to some outdoor sitting on it soon!

I got nails done and hair cut yesterday and a stop at the Pharmacy for a prescription. Then in the afternoon several phone calls needed to be done.

Today I need to get some cleaning done and quilting done.

Maryz - The floors in our house need to be polished, but I don't want to start today. Maybe you will inspire me. Today is bathroom cleaning and bed changing day. I need to clean the bedroom too, it is looking like it needs it.

Dinner tonight will be Chicken. Not sure how I will prepare it. Maybe Parmesan Chicken sounds good.

A clear blue sky this morning.
The hummingbirds are feasting. The other birds are working on the only feeder up, the other feeder was on the tree that was hit by lightning and I've cut up.

Still feeling fine. Yesterday I drove DH to his blood test and did a remote check-in, he went in and I stayed in the car with Minnie. He wasn't happy when I said we were not going out to eat. Came home and made brunch.

I would appreciate a prayer for my SIL, Curt. They did a scope yesterday and found why he says something seems stuck when he's trying to breathe. He has Tracheobronchomalacia, a rare lung disease, that occurs when the walls of the airway are weak. Specifically, weakness is seen in the Trachea — the large tube through which air starts its journey to the lungs and Bronchi — the two main offshoots of the trachea which let air reach the lungs. This can cause the airway itself to become narrow or collapse. I'm glad a Pulmonary specialist did this test and found the problem. Curt will probably have to have surgery.

Supper last evening started as beef and bean burritos, but just as I had hamburger cooked I asked Garry if he'd rather have it in the form of a casserole. He voted casserole. Sometimes picking up things like a burrito doesn't work well for him. So I layered in a small cake pan. Had a little Guacamole on the side and it was all very good. We'll have round 2 tonight since we had leftovers.

Good afternoon!

Clock is delivered and set in it's prescribed place, according to the EIR that was filed. The Christmas tree will fit as usual where I always put it too. So that problem was averted as well. And the side table that I have, even fits as well. So I only will need to move that for the tree and it has a alternative place for Christmas time. The whole house is rearranged for Christmas! And found out about our Ships Bells clock, it's a really old antique, in the neighborhood of 100 years old and worth more than I paid for it. A lot more! A good buy I'd say.

Dinner - last night noodles were a big hit with Karlie. She helped me roll out the dough and cook them. I hand roll and cut by hand my noodles. I do have a pasta machine, but the family has tradition I must keep, they get upset if I roll by machine. And I do these noodles with love and for them. Tonight dinner is still in the unknown category, but there is a couple of steaks, French fries and leftovers we can fix. Sunday is family dinner out here at our house and we are doing a baked potato bar. The kids are doing most of the meal, I am just baking the potatoes. Debating wrapping in foil or just rubbing oil and seasoning with salt, onion and garlic.

So not much else here. Need a run to Costco, near closing time, less people and then over to Winco. I will get to sew tomorrow.

Lyn - love the kitty story. So much fun to 0lay with those doorbell cameras!

Carol - planned the first meal on your new table yet? Will be so nice to eat al fresco!

Mary - we have a store that does meat sales all the time. Costco, here, does a thin cut package of ribeye steaks that doesn't break the bank. They are still big enough to share between two people.

I've got a couple of uglies to do,
Hugs,
Jana
