SUPPER CLUB - Friday, May 27th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri May 27, 2022 6:15 am

Good morning,

Today is my little boy's birthday. He'll be 47 yrs old at 11am this morning. I have a photo of him about 2-1/2 yrs old in a clown costume I made him for Halloween. I'm going to text it to him with my "Happy Birthday!" greeting.

Yesterday was Costco and the beginning of our food planning for our upcoming camping trip. It has sneaked up on me so I'm going to be busy this weekend planning, making lists, and packing. We leave on Tuesday and will be gone 8 days. I also got in an hour or so of sewing. Today will be similar only without Costco.

JANA - sometimes Aaron really pulls the Sh--ty assignments! Glad your yard is coming together without WW3 outbreak. It's going to be pretty when all done. And I hope easy care. I agree with Michael - go for the biggest trees you can get! Poor Ethan and his brownie team. Was this just a fun thing or were they graded on it? I bet it's nice to have your ride back - parked in your garage again!

CAROL - I'm curious to hear what your doctor told you.

TINA - thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! Now I'll have all the fabric I need, thanks to you! and since you mention it - I probably bought my fabric at Hobby Lobby, too. Now I can finish up my IC! And what are the sores in your mouth from??

VELDA - glad you are feeling in the pink again!

IRISH - I'm assuming you had your eye surgery yesterday. Hope you are on the mend today and will be back at the table soon!

We had the leftover tacos for lunch so Bill wasn't too hungry come supper time so we just had poached eggs on toast. I can do that! Tonite we are invited to someone's house for supper. We've never been there before. We will be 8 and rumor is, supper will be lasagna. I'm taking appetizers - fruit kabobs with lime/yogurt dip. And also Brie crisps from a recipe I got years ago at Robert Mondavi winery in CA. So I'll be spending a little time in the kitchen today.

What do you plan for tonite?

Good Morning,
Maryz - The doctor has told me to take some calcium, Vitamin D and exercise along with the Actonel. She had blood work done and numbers are within normal range. She did warn me not to take too much calcium. The dose on the bottle says three tablets. I take a multi-vitamin, so she said just take two tablets. Reason researchers have found that excess calcium can lead to heart problems. I will see her once a year so the insurance will approve Actonel.

So glad Tina found the fabric for you!

Velda - Happy Birthday! Glad you got to go out to dinner. I am not fond of spicy either. Too bad the restaurant doesn't say something about Cajun spices added in the menu descriptions. I wouldn't have ordered it.

Jana - Ethan's teacher didn't have a very good plan for the students to complete their work in the kitchen if the cookies wouldn't have time to bake. Maybe it should have been done over several days? Glad you came up with a plan for the yard. Sounds like you have a very lovely design for the backyard.

Irish - Hopefully the cataract surgery is completed and you are doing well.

Dinner tonight will be meatloaf. Bet you thought I was done making things. Ground Turkey is on sale, so it seemed like a good idea. I think I will make small loaves, so I can freeze them.

I hopefully will be quilting today. The bathroom cleaning, changing the bed and some laundry need to be done which is the usual Friday cleaning. I do have a manicure appointment this morning.

Carol

Hi ladies. As you would expect, we have leftovers for tonight. πŸ€—
I had enough energy today for one load of wash. I did my house chores, dust, and do floors, etc.
Now I am popped. Guess I do nothing this afternoon. LOL.
Hugs all around.

Good afternoon from a warm, semi sunny, SW. Pa....From what I'm hearing, we're going to have a good holiday weekend and then it's going to be summer......

Mary, I am so happy you've gotten your fabric....You can always depend on quilters to come through in a pinch, right???? One thing for sure, you have me thinking about getting back to my Irish chain.....
Yep, my 2nd eye was done yesterday and today I'm fine...Boy did I follow directions yesterday...They told me to go home and do nothing, just relax...Well, I relaxed to the tune of a 4 hour nap, it was wonderful....This morning at 6:00, I took off the plastic covering simply because I couldn't stand the adhesive tape on my cheek any longer and as the day goes on, the eyesight gets better....I'm amazed! My glasses have been a part of me for so long, I'm feeling naked!

Carol, Good to hear your blood work is in normal range...Let's hope and pray you'll find the right "formula"...I have yet to make meatloaf with ground turkey but sure like your idea of making small loaves and freezing...Of course, since my fridge isn't working, now I have to wait until my new one gets here and then look out!

Jana, I can only imagine the fun and the frustration you'll be having while planning and doing your yard....Will you be taking pictures as you go? And hopefully, you'll share the finished pictures with us....I love to see how others decorate.....OK, so I'm nosey!

Our plans have changed for the weekend but I think it's best...Instead of going to camp for 4 days, my sister and I are just riding up on Sunday to visit with the friends who bought the mountain and partake in hot dogs and hamburgers...The couple who bought the mountain are both medical and had been nearing the end of their working in Barrow, Alaska, when Marty had a very serious stroke, 5 weeks ago...He has been in the hospital up there and then flown to Pittsburgh for extensive therapy and released just yesterday...They are staying with family near the mountain until they get their motor home up on top and then start their new home....They've both officially retired and going to enjoy their time together....So, this Memorial Day, we're all taking it easy and enjoy visiting.....

I have no idea what I'm going to have for dinner...When I say the "cupboard is bare, I really mean it" so I just might have to give my sister a call and see what she's having...I might even be able to tempt her with a strawberry sundae......

You all have a great rest of the day...

Happy eating................

Good afternoon!

Quickie here - two of my little termites are having lunch, so I have a quick break. We are having a very nutritious luunch, hot dogs and cheetos! LOL!

Dinner - Ethan will be here for dinner, so I need to figure out something. He loves a paninni sandwich or quesadillas. I can do either.

Ethan will be here after school today. He's out in a few minutes . We will either bake some cookies or make doughnuts later .

Mary - yippee, you got the fabric you need and sounds like plenty too!

Irish - yes I will share pictures - the weedy before and after Sarah does her magic. She and Michael are off at a garden conservatory, to look at hardscapes, trees and she has a college class assignment for some plant identification.

OK, lunch break is over,

See ya later,
Hugs,
Jana

I am back again. Glad your eyes are doing so well, Irish. I still am using glasses because my stigmatism is bad enough that I wanted correction. I am happy to have the glasses. I didn't want to put readers on and off all the time. So now I have bifocals.
Had our leftovers and I made two apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream for our dessert. Dishwasher doing clean up. πŸ˜‰
