SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Feb 19th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Feb 19, 2022 6:58 am

Good morning,

Things are chilling down here this week. We may even have lows in the teens! Bill will be prepping the trailer for freezing temps today. along with working on LOTR. In fact, he started quilting at 0600 this morning. He plans to finish it before noon. then it comes back to me for binding and label. and pillow cases.

Yesterday I finally got out and fed my rhodies and other woody plants. That's all the yard work I'll be doing until it warms up again. Brrr.... then I played with the March lotto blocks. Celtic Twist. What fun blocks when they are put together! They look difficult, but really aren't. I have two made and two more half-finished. Will mail them off to Valerie soon. Then it's back to Easter Swap blocks. Sign-ups end tomorrow night. We would love to find one more person so we can have a 3x3 setting. Any takers here??

TINA - oh no!! Not Nine Lives Pate! That's OUR catfood, too! Foxy gets a very small spoonful for breakfast and supper. We buy it at Costco. I better see if we can get it. He does NOT like the shreds! And we certainly don't want an angry cat in the house! I hope you can get some painting done today.

BECCA - no, I doubt you have an enemy in the world! Everyone is honored to be your friend! We, too, have to have tacos at least two nights in a row. In fact, we usually have everything 2 nights in a row! And I make every recipe with half the meat than is called for. Happy heavenly birthday to your brother. I KNEW yesterday was a special day all day long, but didn't know why. Now I do.

IRISH - yes, Drew is excited. He's seen pictures of the completed top but not in person. And he has no idea we plan to bring the finished quilt to him. Can't wait! Then we'll see if Alec comes up with something HE wants! lol! I'm so sorry your sister's DD is being such a stinker. Stinker kids are the worst. But at least her son is happy for her. and her sister! So do you think she'll rent the farmhouse out, sell it, or just let it be? I will check out your eagle cam!

JANA - HAPPY DAY!!! I'm so glad for you!! I know you've got joy, joy, joy down in your heart!! Too bad they don't want to stop off in WA for a month or two - we could use a good house-sitter this summer.

CAROL - WOW! You've really got it goin' on, Girl!! I'm not sure I even understand the titles of all the positions in your guild! Thank you for the invite. Will keep it in mind. I'm not really a joiner and Zoom kind of escapes me. I'm severely technically challenged. I have trouble enough keeping track of my own activities!

LORI - when will your show be held? Glad you have strong help. We've hung quilts before. It's hard work! So happy you are enjoying your class. Would love to see pictures when you have something to show us. Our last trip to Alaska was in 2019. My first was in 1985 - kids and I flew up for first Christmas after their dad was killed. Then kids and I ferried up in 1989 and drove back after my 2nd husband died. (When times got tough, we ran to Gene, the king of conquering tough times.) Bill and I drove up in 1993, 2001, 2006, 2015, and 2019. My sis and I flew up Jan of 2013. I love Alaska!

We're in need of new food tonite so I'm thinking of baked pork chops, mashed potatoes & gravy, and brussels sprouts.

What's happening on your plate tonite?

OOPS! Bill just changed our menu - as he is wont to do sometimes. Looks like we're having mac & cheese with our brussels sprouts. The pork chops went back into the freezer.

Good afternoon!

I have two little girls playing with paper dolls and singing. What fun noises at my house! Aaron and Michael are off to Sarah's to get her junk, then the dumps. When they get back, I will follow Aaron home to his house with the girls. The little truck isn't big enough for the three of them with car seats. Kate is at school training today.

After finishing the Ward bulletin for tomorrow, I will get out my magic wand and straighten the Batt Cave. My magic wand is a grabber - a picker upper thingy. Makes it easy to get all the small pieces parts off the floor, and back into the right baskets. Then I will get started on my project, copying the border sections on paper. The pattern has them in several sections. So instead of all those sections, I will tape them together to make the top and bottom and the two sides. You'd think the borders are last, but the main part of the quilt is just one solid square, to which these are attached. Then you make the decorative panels that are changed out separately. There are quite a few panels, so that will keep me busy for awhile.

Dinner - I am in the mood for take out, somewhere.

Mary - Bill was quick in getting LOTR done. It will be such a loved gift from both of you. I need to get my quilting queue down in numbers too!

Becca - I am paying attention to how Denise is handling the stress on the little one with the move. My Karlie will be leaving the other grandparents in California, where she spends lots of time. Maybe they too are fed up with California and will move here too.

Well, the boys are back, need to scoot,

Hugs,
Jana

Hello from Illinois.... Late as usual!!! I have an excuse... I made the decision to invest in Emeril Lagasse Power Air Fryer 360 Plus.
Cooking my first meal with it tonight.
Wish I had a cooking guide to teach me. LOL
But I am getting the hang of it, I think.
Pork burgers, potato wedges, and frozen veggies done in the microwave.
I will report how it ends up. 🤗🤗
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Hi everyone! I'm sliding in really late..... because I painted the whole west wall with kilz! Tomorrow will be the first coat of the paint! Hopefully Monday will be nice weather and I'll get the second coat of paint finished, then on to the east wall. The west wall has all the new electric lines and ac stuff.... would've been sooooo much easier to have done this before all that was installed LOL oh well.
Mary, did LOTR get quilted? I'm excited to see it!
Becca, I did laundry with you today too, my last load is in the dryer now. My oldest brother was like that too ❤ I still find myself wanting to facetime him ❤ I wish I could call mom too 🥺 I get so emotional still.
Jana, my favorite sound.... listening to the grands play 🥰 I'm so happy your Daniel and family will be moving there. I hope the other grandparents will move with them, I don't think I could stand it if my kids and grands moved away..... they'd have to have a spare room for me.
Velda, you got an air fryer but you cooked in your microwave?
After painting and doing laundry today and doing a little cleaning I was too tired to cook so we actually went out to eat with 1 of Frankie's sister's and his brother in law. They came from Arizona today and are heading back Monday morning, they're anxious to see our solar set up. Monday the solar panels are being installed.... not sure how long that and running all the wires to the meter pole will take.... I'm hoping they'll get finished this week and PNM can get our new meters in and get iy turned on!.
