SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, Feb 9th
Good morning,
It was another toss'n'turn kind of night. And the dog didn't help any. Barking! So I was up at 0400. I could smell something outside as if someone had been burning toxic items. Gee - I wonder who that could be! And when I took Scott out on the leash he went berzerk when close to Vicki's property, barking, lunging, snarling. It could be coyote(s) had made a call there or it could be the black cat (not ours) that we caught on the camera. Such an exciting life we lead.
Yesterday was a couple of local errands, one load of wash, and a bit of fabric play. I'm working on my wall hanging. It's almost like painting a picture. I "paint" a while and then take a break. I did find what I needed at Michael's - fabric glue and tulle - so I can go forward now with this project. Bill has my new kitchen outlet in and today he is going to spackle and paint around the new outlet and then, hopefully, I can put the kitchen back together. Depending on how fast that happens will determine what we have for supper.
VELDA- that's great that you two work at your food bank. I'm sure they have to be well organized for such an organization. I worked for 12 years on our local toy drive which was associated with our food bank & fire department. It's rewarding work. Tell us more about your shoeboxes for college students.
LORI - a dishcloth is a great project to practice on. Plus, they are great dishcloths! I have several that friends made me. Glad your elephants are nearing the finish line. What are you using for background?
BECCA - I agree about how WM treats employees. We had a friend who used to work for them and she said they were awful. But what I REALLY don't like is how they move into a community, drop their prices so low, and run the long-time local shops out of business. They tried to build a store here but our community rallied and kept them out. My brother, Jim, got to where he couldn't be left alone because his Parkinsons' meds caused hallucinations and whenever my SIL left him, he would wander, trying to tend to the things he was 'seeing' and fall and would be on the floor when she got home. He had several serious injuries from his falls.
TINA - yay for painting! Yay for Easter eggs! Seems like everyone is really getting on board with their Easter Swap blocks! What is "NG"? In the medical world that has a meaning, but I don't think that's what you were talking about.
CAROL - I was looking at your Road quilt again this morning, studying each block more carefully. It sure is amazing!! I have the book and you inspire me to perhaps USE it! lol! I didn't realize you knit, too. I want to knit and my good friend tried to teach me a few years ago. We both finally gave up! lol! But I CAN crochet - sort of.
JANA - they STILL haven't picked up their O2 stuff?? I thought there was supposed to be a shortage and they needed it pronto. Business is done weirdly nowadays. Have you been able to get to your sewing machine yet?
Supper? With my kitchen all discombobilated it's hard to cook. Hopefully today will be the end of it and I can put everything back. I want to make a crockpot of soup but I don't know yet if I'll have room to operate in there. So at this time, supper will be a surprise! Surprises can be fun, right? . . . . .

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, Feb 9th
Good Morning Everyone,
This morning I will close the pins on the second quilt I pin basted. I need to go to the grocery store and cook something for dinner. I am thinking Stuffed Pepper Casserole, but would like to make some Turkey Sauce for Pasta as well. (Probably one of them today and one tomorrow.) This afternoon I have a Zoom Sew-in. Before that I need to get my sewing room in order. It is a bit more than untidy!
Maryz - Our Guild Quilt Show is this weekend and will have 160 quilts plus vendors and an auction. The Auction Quilts are displayed until about noon on Sunday and the Auction begins at 1:00 PM. When they take the Auction Quilts down, we hang other quilts and In Honor of Eleanor's 40th is one of those quilts. Guild Members have been watching the AccuQuilt YouTube of Road to California and want to see the quilt. I have three quilts in this show besides. One is a Dresden Neighborhood quilt, second is a Lone Star quilt and the third is a Bugs quilt. I am very pleased with the quilting on the Lone Star and the Bugs quilt. I did feathers and ruler work on the Lone Star and it came out really nice. On the bugs I did a lot of background quilting and quilted the bug wings (think lady bugs) differently. Again, I am very pleased with the results. I did learn that if I am going to do stitch in the ditch to hold everything down before I do individual blocks, I will use water soluble thread.
We need a new electric panel on our house too. We will be having it done this year. The kitchen needs more lighting, a working vent fan and the whole house needs more electric sockets. The garage also needs more electric sockets. DH is cleaning garage and has finally cleared a table so he can put the contents of the workbench someplace. The workbench is way too high and he needs to lower it. I think he is thinking he wants several electrical outlets there too, so it needs to be done before the electric panel.
Dinner will be the yet to be made Stuffed Pepper Casserole.

Good morning all!
Mary, NG.... National Guard LOL
Glad your outlet is in, hopefully it'll be easier for you to reach.
How does the tulle fit into your village quilt? I'm really pushing attention to how you're doing this, it looks really time consuming to me.
Carol, I had just told Frankie how we lost track of days and how they kinda dragged by with the kids not here for so long, we don't like not seeing them for long periods of time. I had sewing and reading to help me get through better but Frankie got kinda in the dumps not having them here. The weather wasn't nice enough for him to go outside much and with no kids I think it was harder on him.
Becca, prayers for Brodee

Hmmmmmm supper, gosh I'm just drawing a blank at the moment.
I'll come back later to see all your ideas, maybe you'll inspire my supper plans for tonight.

Good morning!
The neighbors got the horse buried yesterday. I can now have Ethan back to visit. He loves those horses and I didn't want him to see it there. He can handle knowing, but seeing would be rough. His favorite is still alive, one of the last two. There are 2 other pastures that touch and are in our view with horses. The area is like the 4 corners, the 4 states that meet, same way.
Michael is clearing off a table in the garage that has been a catch all for junk! I have tried for years to get it cleared, but all it took was a new light fixture for the garage. The table is in the way for the ladder so the fixture can be put in. Our friend is coming by to do that for us. I still don't let Michael on ladders.
The O2 company is coming on Monday to get their equipment. I have the O2 concentrator and about 8 bottles of 02. I will be so happy to have all that gone!
Well, I am now on hold for a estimated 9 minutes with Medicare. They denied a claim saying that they are my secondary insurer, they are not, so I am locked and loaded for them! LOL! I hate dealing with insurance!
Dinner - ravioli with sauce and a slice of wheat bread.
Mary - oh the joys of being home with Vicki. Can a trap be set for any coyotes in the back woods? Or some kind of discouragement? Glad the electrical is done.
Carol- two shows close together, what fun! But a lot of work!
Becca -craters for little Brodee. He is a trooper!
Tina- same way here with not having the kids around. Lila, Gracie and Ethan are always around. They all know where the treats and snacks are at Grandma's house.
Uggh - got through to Medicare and talking to a agent, they have my account so messed up! On hold while she is trying to figure out why! Glad I don't get sick! This was for a Covid test when Michael was sick.
See ya tomorrow if I get through this mess!
Hugs,
Jana

Almost time to go help with the food truck. Just filling in and trying to read all the posts.
I don't cook tonight. Weather has warmed up and we will be going out to eat with friends, then we all attend the Wednesday night music event with dancing.
It's been two weeks since we were able to go. First DH had a muscle in his knee bothering him and was getting around with a cane. Then last week was the snow storm. Temp today jumped up to 45° so a lot of snow has melted nicely.
I will have to start thinking about food and cooking for tomorrow through the weekend.
We have out of town guests coming for a visit next week, so I need to clean house and get prepared for entertaining our friends.
Have a great "hump day".

Carol, that's a lot of quilts. I will probably go on Sunday.
Mary, I did a lot of start and take out of the knitting. I was determined to win the battle. It paid off. I'm getting the hang of it. I had one of those toss and turn nights on Monday. I don't know why I just don't get up. I keep thinking I'll fall back to sleep.
Jana, bummer about the neighbors horse. I bet that's a big project to bury an animal that size.
Becca, hope everything check out okay for the little man.
Dinner tonight will be something I can throw on the bbq. Probably chicken or maybe the banned stuff.
Have a lovely day.

Well wild and wooly around here!
On the big highway that runs through town was a major accident between a school bus and a car. Seems as if our local elementary school, just down the street from me had kids coming home from a field trip right at that time. Lots of kids in my Ward, so when we learned of the accident, I got phone calls from several of my friends who know Aaron works those incidents. They needed info, so I found out. No kids were on the bus, just the driver. The car involved had a female, who ran the red light and was broadsided by the bus. She was the only fatality. Mother Nature extracts capital punishment for running red lights,, being distracted while driving. So sad for that family. No text or phone call is worth your life. My PSA message! Oh Aaron needs his good work truck, outfitted with the tools he needs. It's coming, in a few more months.
