SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Feb 6

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Feb 06, 2022 5:27 am

Good morning,

Looks like we're in for a dry week ahead with highs in the low 50's. I hope to get outside and do a little yard clean-up and Bill plans to wash the outside of the trailer - perhaps next weekend when it will be even warmer. In the meantime, the inside of the trailer is all cleaned, bed is remade with clean sheets and blankets, and it's ready to go out and get messed up again!

Yesterday I finished my five heart blocks. They are ready to mail to Valerie as soon as I get another package ready to mail, too, for my brother. Then I cleaned my sewing room and posted an Easter swap. Check it out! We haven't had a swap since Halloween - so it's time. Today I'll be playing with Easter blocks and make my decision on what I want to make.

JANA - my kids would never even let me do their laundry let along their taxes!! And to tell you the truth, I think I like it like that!

CAROL - will this quilt show just be exhibition or will it be judged?

BECCA - what about CA's meds is making you climb the walls? Is he forgetting or refusing to take them? Mixing them up? Do you hand them to him when they are due? Meds can get very confusing.

VELDA - I love potato soup! But you know, I've never made it. Maybe one of these days . . . . Nice to have the sunshine brighten your house. I love that. But I also like gloomy days when I turn on all the lights and have a fire. It seems so nice and cozy.

I'm still mulling over what to make for supper tonite. Maybe tacos. We haven't had them for a long time and it's one of Bill's favorites. I'll have refried beans, too. But, as always, I reserve the right for Bill to change my mind.

What's the plan in your kitchen?

Good morning all!
Mary, we're supposed to have a warmer nicer week here too, which means painting outside for us. I'm really wanting to get at it!
Happy Easter swap block making! I'll be joining you after I finish another heart or 2.
It's Dad's night to eat here so I need to go check the freezer, I'm leaning towards chicken and a salad.

Mary, yes Jane Sassman quilts are Art quilts. Her fabric lines are big bold prints with lots of color. The class was very interesting. Taking a plant/flower and looking at from it's inception and learning to draw it as an abstract. Way out of my comfort zone, but I like a challenge.

Jana, shouldn't the kids be doing your taxes by now? I wish someone would do mine for me. I wait until the last minute too. We pay quarterly, so it doesn't make any difference.

Vel, how was the potato soup? One of my favorites.

Becca, that must be very frustrating. Bill is constantly losing his glasses and it make me crazy.

Tina, we are heading into the 80's this week. It will be nice, but we really need rain instead.

I got a lot done yesterday. Did my heart lotto blocks, worked on stitching around the elephants. About a third of the way done with that, and knitted a bit. It getting better at the knitting thing. I need to look for a pattern so I can take it to class next week. Something simple.

Today I'll work on the elephants a bit. I want to better organize my stuff. I feel like I spend way too much time looking for things.

Dinner will be burgers on the grill, with baked beans.

Have a lovely day.

Maryz - The show is exhibition. In Honor of Eleanor’s 40th quilt will be on display play on Sunday afternoon. The members that didn’t go to Road want to see it.

Lori - My DH was always misplacing his glasses. He wouldn’t eat dinner unless he had them on his face. It drove me slightly crazy too, so I feel your pain. While at Road I found a booth that gad landyards and looking at then found one to hold glasses. DH loves it.

Becca - Yes going to church makes for a better week. Cleaning out leftovers is also a good thing.

Tonight’s dinner will be Fast Hash.

Good late afternoon!

My house smells wonderful! Just took out of the oven, 3 freshly baked loaves of whole wheat bread. Could not wait to slice off a piece and slather it in some butter! It tastes yummy too! I can still make bread! That and a glass of milk is probably our dinner tonight.

Church was wonderful. Michael forgot his stuff and didn't realize it until we were home. So back he went looking and while he was gone, one of the young men brought it to me at home. I tried to call his cell phone, but it is acting up and calls don't go through. So he will finally have to give up his very old flip phone. I have been trying literally for years to get him a new phone, but he says, it ain't broke, so why get a new one. Well, it's broke now!

Not much else here, stay safe and warm,
Hugs,
Jana
