Supper Club - Monday, Jan 31

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jan 31, 2022 4:18 am

Good morning!

Today is Home day. 350 miles. We should be home by 2 PM-ish. I’m pretty excited. I am even fantasizing about doing 2 1/2 weeks of laundry tomorrow! Our boys are going to be so happy!

Our store bought chicken poblano creamy lasagna last night was actually pretty good. Bill had two big servings on top of a big salad. I was planning the leftovers for tonight but I guess I will need to make new food. Probably another pizza. Nothing to make, just assemble. The ready made crusts we bought were two to a pkg so I have one more crust and a half jar pizza sauce left

Y’all seem to know your chilies and peppers a lot better than I do. I know some are hotter than others but I’m never sure which ones are which. This poblano dish last night had no heat but did have good flavor.

Carol, I hope your face owie is improving. My brother Jim had some skin cancer removed from his forehead once. He had several stitches in the form of a big “J”. They looked like railroad tracks which was kind of cool because he loved Trains. I told him not many people would go to the extreme of having their initials carved on there forehead. But he did not have much bruising.

Tina, you are doing so much cleaning – is the wind blowing a lot? how is Jaz doing? Did you get any sewing time yesterday?

Becca, sorry to hear CA still has no appetite. What is his favorite supper? did you suffer any ill effects from the big storm a few days ago?

Jana, so sorry your Niners lost. They were the team I would’ve rooted for in the Super Bowl. Now I’m stuck for a team to cheer on. I may not even watch the game. Funny about “ cheesy potatoes”. 😹

Lori, I lost track of what’s going on in your sewing room lately. Catch us up.

Velda, I know you have your church project underway

Well time to fold up our tent one more time and hit the road. Tonight I’ll be cooking at home! Pizza and salad.

What’s for your supper tonight

Becca

Becca, it was 48 here when I went out or my walk. It's supposed to warm up to the low 60's today.

Mary, I bet you will be glad to be home again. I'm working on a elephant quilt. I was going to make it for my mom and never did. I will give it to my niece. The pattern is in Quiltmania magazine issue 118.

Yesterday I layered 5 charity quilts to be quilted. I got 2 done, and will finish up a third today. Then get the binding on these before I do the others. I also want to work on my elephant quilt today. We'll see how that goes.

Dinner will be chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon!

We've warmed up nicely today. Still colder than I like, but better than sub freezing!

Dinner - another dilemma of what to cook. Michael got back more numbers on his blood work and it shows where he is short, so a diet change - addition of some things need to be added. This is where he drives me nuts on what he'll eat and when. So I will be a short order cook for awhile. If he gets too bad, he will eat at Sarah's house!

Doing uglies today. Tomorrow will be a busy day running errands for us and Sarah. She has several Dr appointments for her and Ethan. And I am getting groceries at Costco during senior hours.

Not much else here.

Hugs,
Jana

Hi everyone. We had chicken soup last night. So tonight is leftovers. Usually our Monday nights are eating out, but our friends were fitting colds, so they cancelled. Wednesday we have snow storm coming, so that outing is cancelled too.
I have to help serve a lunch tomorrow at church for a special meeting. Then afternoon will be sewing and maybe laundry.
So tomorrow, I better start planning some meals for the rest of the week.
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Tonight's dinner is much like Lori's. We are having a sheet pan dinner of Chicken with Honey Mustard Sauce, potatoes, vegetables and a side of salad.

Maryz - Welcome Home! You must be so happy to be home. Hope all is well.

Carol
