SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Jan 10th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jan 10, 2022 4:49 am

Good morning,

It's my baby's 45th birthday today. Happy Birthday, Autumn! I can't wait to talk to her today. Antonio has texted me a few times asking if know her ring size. :D :D :D

We are breezy this morning. And cool (for here). A relief after yesterday's 83* and high humidity.

After laundry, I finished my second palm tree yesterday and also made the angel. Today will be vac'g, mopping, and dusting. Then I'll get back to my project - a shepherd or a sheep.

TINA - I could be wrong about Cary Grant's TV series. After listening to how Autumn remembers things from her early childhood, I realize my own memory could be faulty! hugs to your dad. The older we get, the longer it takes us to heal.

LORI - and here I thought we were like twins! I'm up at 0500 or earlier. We do all errands and schedule appts for as early in the day as we can get them. We avoid crowds, which is a big deal in Covid times, but I like having uninterrupted afternoons. Conversely, I'm nodding off in my chair at 7:30 in the evening. I can't believe I worked nights for 20years!

BECCA - oh, I adapt to time change very easily going east. Going west is another story. And the fur-kids! Oh my, when we get home they will be waking us up at 2:30am for their breakfast! and wanting supper at noon! lol!

VELDA - yes, we've had fun reconnecting with our inner dancers! But all good things come to an end. If Covid ever goes away, we'll try to get back out on the floor.

Last night while I was trying to fill a gal-size Ziplock with leftover chicken soup for the freezer, I spilled a bunch of it all over the counter, me, down the drawer fronts (one was open a bit!) and the floor. Arghhh! So it was cleanup on Aisle 4 time last night. Today I'll mop that floor.

Tonite's supper will be Yankee Dip sandwiches with Au Jus. And a green salad.

Got any ideas yet for your menu?

Good morning!
I was up before 5 ugh. I wish I could sleep till 6:30, that used to be a good wakeup time for me. 🤷‍♀️ I don't know what happened. I guess it's better to get up early than have the sleepless nights.
Mary, happy birthday to Autumn! I hope she's getting a ring and a proposal for her birthday!
We're 32° with a high of 45° breezy and a chance of rain 🙏 I sure hope that happens! I ran our sprinkler system yesterday to help keep things from dying and we've been watering trees and shrubs. There's no moisture in our ground for over 10' deep, I pray this drought ends soon.
LOL I forgot to look up the info if Cary Grant had that.
Dad said he was going to call his dr today and see if he can get tested to see if he's negative yet. He still has symptoms so I don't feel comfortable about being around him unless he does test negative.
Oh my goodness, I bet that was a mess Mary! Major cleanup it sounds like to me. I try to have someone hold the ziplocks for me when I'm pouring liquids in them. I've seen videos where they use a glass, bowl or pitcher type thing to "hold" the bag, they put the bag inside the glass or whatever and then they roll the opening over the outside edge and then pour, I haven't tried this yet.
We have to go into town to Tractor Supply to get our pick up order of chicken food for the girls. Then the bank drive through window. Then home. Today I need to dust, with this drought I could dust every single day ugh. I also need to let Mr Gears vacuum for me. I'll be sewing and then reading on my breaks. Laundry is all caught up again.
Supper tonight will be tacos.
Tina

Good Morning,
Maryz - Happy Birthday to Autumn! Did you know her ring size? Antonio can propose without the ring and they can go shopping together. DH was totally intimidated trying to get a ring and bought a book on etiquette to find out what to do. He proposed first and we bought the ring together.

Sorry for your mess in the kitchen. Tina is right about putting the plastic bag into a container. Martha Stewart always does it. When I freeze Stuffed Pepper Casserole in plastic bags I place the bags in a casserole lined with a paper towel. I then freeze the liquid in the plastic bag in the casserole. It helps to have it the same shape when I thaw it.

I looked up Cary Grant and do not see any mention of a TV series. It doesn't mention "April Love" either, but it is one of my favorites.

Becca - Rest today and take care of yourself. Hope the pain subsides and BP goes down.

Tina - I need to dust furniture and floors too, but today I hope to get the borders sewn. I have mostly marked them and will finish and quilt. I have another quilt I need to finish for the Quilt Show and want to start that tomorrow. I only have a month.

Besides quilting the borders, I need to buy chicken and ground turkey. It is time to cook. Very little is in the freezer, although we still have soup in there.

Tonight's dinner will be chicken, I am not sure how it will be prepared.

Good afternoon!

Happy Birthday to Autumn! She is just a month older than Sarah. Hope the ring fits! She deserves it!

Crenda is stopping by in a minute. They always are leaving stuff here. I have a fun box labeled STUFF, that everything goes in for all the kids. One of the kids left a tie. She is also taking home all the very large totes that I am no longer using. She does have Matt's truck, which is a good thing!

Not much else here. Leaving in a few more minutes to get jabbed. I do hate shots, but do what I have to. We will pick up chicken on the way home for dinner. Michael is along for the ride, but will stay in the car and wait for me. Sarah needs milk, so since my shot is at the grocery store pharmacy, I will get that for her.

Cooking and I are not friends yet.

Hugs,
Jana
