SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Dec 17
Good morning,
A nice morning - still dark, 70*. We'll be off to the laundry as soon as we take our showers. Then it's house cleaning and grocery shopping. A utility day, if you will. But there will probably be sewing time this afternoon.
LORI - What did you paint at your gathering yesterday? How were the tamales? Pork or chicken? Have you ever made them yourself? Lots of work, but I tried it last summer. I spent an entire afternoon and made 3 dozen - chicken. I have the last of them with us in the trailer freezer and you reminded me so that's what we're having tonite. They were a moderate success. Enough so that I'll give them another shot when we get home.
TINA - don't you hate that! Only 1-1/2" left to go! I might have just hand-cranked that machine through that last bit. Sometimes when quilting, Bill has run out of bobbin with just that much left on a quilt. Frustrating! Glad you decided to leave the last of the stockings until today. My chiro keeps telling me to get up and do other things - walk, mostly. Exercise. Use different muscles, mainly. Most of the quilters I know have all the same physical issues. You are going to cram a tamale-making day in before Christmas? Wow! You must work a lot faster than I do! Ahh.... Harry Potter. I will be happy to be your cheerleader as you make your own quilt! It'll be fun! You'll like it! I promise. Just for giggles and grins you should check out the patterns at fandominstitches.com. There are tons of other genres, too. Cartoons, Disney, Superheroes, TV shows, movies, holidays, birthday, etc.
BECCA - sad news about your SIL, Betty. Praying for her. Any updates? How far does she live from you? And yes, everywhere we go here, tons of people are scurrying. I guess it's the season, but here in Austin, that's just how it is. Crowded and busy. It's a young people's town and lots of huge companies are moving here along with all their young employees. Building and road construction is everywhere.
JANA - what's your weather doing today? I'm enjoying snow vicariously through you. You and Sarah have some good divisions of labor worked out! Is Daniel coming for Christmas this year? Michael is slowly winning the race.
CAROL - having read the HP books and watched most of the movies, and then last Oct watching the LOTR movies, we see where some of JK Rowling's ideas might have originated.
So, thanks to LORI reminding me of the tamale's in the freezer, that's what we're having tonite. I even remembered to bring along my steamer! We'll cook outside and I have rice, refried beans, and salad for sides. Not sure we'll have all that, but salad for sure.
What supper ideas are cookin' in your brain for tonite?

Good morning! Happy dancing here!!! I'm finished with the stockings!!!! I had to frog the next to the last one because I put the wrong hanger on it
it took me about 30 minutes to fix that. I posted a pic in the photos if you'd like to see. The Gramma and Papa ones are mine and Frankie's. What a big sigh of relief I did to get those finished! For most of the adults that's the only gift they are getting this year, well and baked goodies. Kevin & Maria and Holly will be getting their Christmas quilts and stockings and that's all. Holly's label will just have her name on it.
Mary, I never even thought to crank the machine manually to finish! I must not think good in panic mode

Well my Christmas Eve menu has changed since nobody but Dad will be here but the exchange is they'll all be here for Christmas, I'll take that! So maybe Christmas Eve I'll just make a small batch of tamales instead of all the other stuff I make with them.
Becca, prayers for CA
I hope he's doing better by now already ❤
Supper, hmmmmmm I don't have a clue yet.
Tina
Oh, Jana, I sent you a text, did you receive it?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Dec 17
Good afternoon!
My machine is happily stitching away doing up Sarah's and mine last Christmas towels. Tese are for us to display - one says Believe and the other is stinking cute and says Christmas cookies with two gingerbreadmen. I will take a pic later, when it is done.
Ethan will be here for dinner and that little boy loves my enchiritos, so I will make them again for him and us. I have ice cream and chocolate sauce as a treat after dinner. He is looking forward to door bell ditching tonight.
Not much else happening here. Aaron was just here using my scroll saw to cut some wood for Kate's Christmas present. She loves to make crafts and have lots of seasonal displays in their house. So I have a really cute Welsome Bear that hangs from his Welcome sign and you dress him in different outfits. I tole painted him years ago and a bunch of clothes too, so Aaron cut out the wood for Kate to make one for their home. I saved all my tole books from all those years ago, so now they will get used again. I have one I really one to make - it;s a very large frog, that you have on your porch and change his hat for the different holidays. I mean big - he's at least 30 inches tall. Since I will teaching Kate how to paint, maybe I will make him. We will see -
Well, it's thread changing time, yes, Tina I got your text. Any further questions, ask, happy to answer.
