SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, Nov 10th
Good morning,
What a stormy day yesterday! Rain, wind, hail. The ground was completely white! This morning is much calmer. There was a break in the weather yesterday so we put up a few outdoor lights with timers to look like we are home this winter. I also got another portion, the hardest, done on my mountain block. I hope to finish that today after my chiropractor appt. Then I'll get busy with some UGH-lies that I have been neglecting.
BECCA - I remember the last Thanksgiving my mom hosted. She said she wanted to do one more big TG before she died. I think there were about 20 people. She was about 70 at the time (same age I am now. Mom died at 74) but it turned out to be too much for her and she was in tears before the end of the day. I would love to host a big gathering, but nowadays I have no one to gather. We're going to our grandson's and the only other person there will be his brother. But we'll still have fun! It's so wonderful to read of the twins running around your house - and outside - after their rocky start.
VELDA - Hope you get that package problem all worked out. Good luck donating your stuff. Bill went to the Goodwill and two smaller thrift shops yesterday to drop off a car load of things. No one is taking donations. Finally, the last shop accepted everything. We used to go dancing every NYE. We belonged to the Eagles Club then and they have a nice dance floor. we would take our RV during the day and leave it there (many Eagles have RV parking) so after a night of partying - no driving!
IRISH!!! - So good to see you at the table! I've missed you! What a journey that hoarder house has been for you! When I'm at our friends' I get the purge urge when we come home! Her "public rooms" are very pretty though still cluttered, her bedrooms are stuffed full, there is only a narrow walkway in the garage, her Dh's 24-ft shop is crammed (with HER things) plus she has two storage units. Her kids are dreading the day they have to go through it all. Anyway, I digress. I remember you were taking a trip with Kathy, but admit I've forgotten where. Catch us up!
JANA - Nice to have choices of where to go for TG! But sounds like Michael may not be up to going anywhere yet by then. Great of Aaron to come help! And I'm so happy Sarah is doing so well. Did she get all her dirt spread? We had an attention getting storm yesterday and the national forecasters say it's headed over the Rockies and east, so watch out! If it comes your way, and picks up more oomph croosing the Rockies, you could be in for some interesting weather.
LORI - your winery hopping sounds so nice! If you buy lunch there, do you still have to pay to taste? Our first tasting trip through Napa Valley, it was all free. Tells you how long ago that was! Now, when we're in CA, we much prefer Amador Co. Their Zins are unbelievable. (and they don't charge as much).
I'm going to make a pot of split pea soup for supper tonite. I like to add diced potatoes, carrots, and celery to my soup and I have all those things to use up, plus a ziplock of diced ham in the freezer.
What's going into your soup pot tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, Nov 10th
Mary, one of the wineries I'm a member, so tastings are free. Other places we pay, but we share our tastings. Thornton has really good desserts and sparkling wines. You sure have had some rain. Send it our way down south.
Had my guild meeting last night. 1st time in person since March 2020. It was good to see everyone.
Tonight dinner will be orange chicken, rice, and zucchini.
Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon!
Just a quick how do you do! Sarah and I hit Costco and Winco. It was load things into the cart, unload into the Highlander, repeat at Winco, load the basket, unload onto the conveyer belt, bag, load cart, then out to Highlander, load up the back of Highlander, after lowering the middle seats. Drive home, separate hers from mine, bring in and put away! Ethan helped along with Aaron in unloading at my house. I am one tired puppy! But we have food again.
Dinner - home made chow mein.
See ya tomorrow, should be a quiet day!
Hugs,
Jana
