SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Nov 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Nov 04, 2021 6:00 am

Good morning,

What a day yesterday! Chock-a-block full of good deals! First the LQS where I stocked up on lots of fabric, but only about half what I usually do at these sales. Then I found MORE fabric at Goodwill along with some other bargains. While I was in Tacoma, I was going to call the Sew'n'Vac place to see if my back-up machine was ready, but I forgot. And I was almost next door! Well, Bill called me when I was in the middle of the bridge coming home and said they'd just called the house. The Tacoma Narrows Bridge is 1-1/4 mi suspension toll bridge and there's no turning around so we're going back together today to pick the machine up. And a stop at Trader Joe's for Scottie-dog's special treats. We are getting dangerously low on those!

I got my binding on Gene's quilt yesterday, too, and finished that half LOTR block. Today, I want to get the label made and stitched on. I have a massage at 11:00 and then back to Tacoma for my machine. Then three packages to get ready to mail, along with my SS gift which is already packed up. I don't think I'll get to my next LOTR block today.

TINA - You are really set to everyone to come spend the night! It's a lot of work to completely re-do a room. Are you selling the extra furniture?

BECCA - You really seem to get a lot of errands done in one trip. I have to say, I hate errands. After 3 stops I'm ready to go home. But I did force myself to make one extra stop yesterday at Safeway. I wanted to make sure I got a turkey breast to take in the trailer for TG. I was afraid they would run out if I waited.

JANA - Maybe my next iron will be an Oliso. My Rowenta piddles a lot. And I can't see through the red, semi-opaque reservoir to see how much water I'm adding. I always overflow it. But it does heat fast, I will say that for it. Good to hear your patient keeps improving, but sounds like he will be just that - a patient for quite a while. Hope he's a patient patient! And poor Ethan! Hope all his parts and pieces heal quickly! That's a pretty nice perk Sarah is getting from her job!

LORI - you had a good reason for being delayed with your Christmas sewing. Are these actual Christmas projects or sewing for Christmas gifts that you are doing? What is "topper" for the lawn?

I never made the fajitas yesterday but might tonite. Or I might use up my leftover pizza sauce and leftover pepperoni to make little pizzas on tortillas plus a salad. I can put the veggies in the salad.

Good morning!
Mary, you're going to run out of things to do by the time you hit the road 😁 so glad your machine is ready, I bet that's a load off your mind. We're selling the baby bed and jr bed plus all the bedding that goes with them.
Becca, errands aren't my favorite thing either but like you say they have to get done. It's cleaning day here too but I'm not lucky enough to have the rain.
I've already got laundry going and need to clean everything plus pay bills....a busy necessities day.
The bed is made as much as I can make it, I ordered flannel sheets for it, oh my they are soooooo soft! Idon't have a twin quilt so think I'll use my black snowmen blocks to make a twin for it or I do have a twin top that I could just quilt.... hmmmmmm decisions decisions....
We're hazy today, I must've missed on the news the why of that 🤷‍♀️
I'm thinking pork chops for supper.

Good morning!

Mary - what a quick turnaround on your machine! Heck, here, someone would turn around on the bridge. That's what keeps Aaron's job so interesting! LOL! You have the luck of the Irish in scoring buys at Goodwill!

Becca - cleaning day here too, that is if I don't ignore it until later!

Tina - busy at your house too. We had those same little beds for our oldest, Stu when he was little and living with us. Now, when Karlie comes, we set up a camp cot with a mattress. She loves camping at Grandma's.

Dinner - had a request for my large, soft meatballs with sauce from Michael last night. They were yummy and will be served again tonight with garlic bread and a veggie.

Heading over, the very long distance, to my dining room to sew. Michael is doing well and PT is coming this afternoon. Not much else around here.

Hugs,
Jana

Tina, you just whip out a quilt like nothing. I be the snowmen will be a cute quilt.

Mary, bummer you didn't get your machine. I don't like extra driving if I can avoid it. It took 5 trips back and forth to the sewing center to get my machine working right. They kept guessing and replacing parts.
Finally I did some research on the machine. And it was what I discovered. The thread take up was out of whack. It's only a 15 minute drive, but I had to make it several times and was not happy. Good thing there a feed store next door. At least I was able to pick up things for the furry kids while I was out that way.

Becca, looks like our sunshine is trying to peak though the clouds.

Jana, I don't mind sewing in the dining room, I just don't like the mess. So when I do I spend 30 minutes cleaning up after sewing. Somehow it gets really messy when I sew.

The boys are walked and resting. I'm heading to out for a few errands and lunch with my DIL. I think dinner will be cereal tonight. I've got sewing to do when I get home.

Have a lovely day.
