Yesterday was a beauty of a day! I think we broke 50* and it was bright and sunny! And quite breezy, though not downright windy like earlier in the week. Bill got the roof blown off, the gutters cleaned, and most of the leaves cleaned up. He'll work some more on that today. I helped some with the rake. Then I was off to my haircut. It's a little shorter than I wanted it but not as short as "Shirley" (my stylist) wanted it so it's probably just right. I got a few hours of sewing in and have my large tote of LOTR patterns/fabrics worked down to a small tote. Then I got another block done. I've never done a quilt before where if I got a block a day finished I felt like I was going like the wind! lol! And thank you all for your kind comments on my DWR. I love black/bright combos!
Today, more leaves, more LOTR, and Seahawks! They play at 1:00 so there goes what will probably be the last sunny afternoon of the year. We do record the game and sit down a bit later so we can zoom through some of the commercials, but still will spend a good amount of our afternoon in front of the TV - and the fire.
BECCA - My sister tried the dry needling on her back about a month ago. She thinks it was helpful. The doctors were talking surgery for her, but after the needling, she felt she doesn't need it. I'll be seeing her in about 4 weeks and I'll see for myself. Cleaning out your project bags? Have you got some projects in progress you are resurrecting? Don't we all??

LORI - you tuckered out your pretty boys! Oh, 57* would seem so balmy here. We're excited that 55* is predicted for today. 48* was our high on Friday. I hope you get your machine back soon. They HAVE to know this is the busiest sewing season. They should lay in extra parts for the pre-Christmas rush. What projects do you have in mind for Christmas sewing? I just got my good Bernie back after 3 weeks. I swapped them my back-up (travel) Bernie but told them we are leaving for the winter in 3 weeks and that machine needs to be back before that. The automatic threader was broken plus it needed cleaning. They said they'd put a rush on it. I didn't tell them that I'm going to take my good machine to Texas since we'll be sitting in one spot for a month and it's a much easier machine to use for paper piecing. Bill bought me a special padded carrying case for Christmas a few years ago. It's a big case, but the machine travels safely.
VELDA - oh, Squeeze Box! I remember them! We saw them in Texas at Wurstfest in New Braunfels a few years back. We polka'd up and down the aisles. We were with Cindy & Don and Kenn & Sue. I do know Knights of Columbus - my dad was a member when I was young. I just didn't realize you were talking about them.
JANA - It may seem like slow progress but Michael is making huge strides! He can always just sit on a step to rest, too. Make sure you are with him in case he gets dizzy. I hope he doesn't try to do any real work, though, and just wants to visit his desk and trains. With the brain fog, who knows what he might do! Glad to hear Crenda is home from the hospital. I bet her throat is sore! I've never had my tonsils out, and knock on wood, never had a real problem with them. I hear ya on that chair. It even flashed through my mind that I might take my rolling chair from my sewing room in the trailer and leave one of the trailer chairs at home. But figured for just 4 weeks (all we'll be sitting still in one campsite) I was probably carrying the sewing thing a bit too far.

I'm thinking we'll grill burgers tonite since we'll have sunny weather in the mid 50's. and maybe I'll try fries in our new air fryer. And while I have the bag 'o' potatoes out maybe I'll try freezing some fries like Izzy did a few weeks ago. They would be great for travelin' meals.
What's traveling to your table tonight?
