SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, October 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:48 am

Good morning!

We're chilly at 43* but we're DRY!! I'll take it! There will be some yard clean up this afternoon after all the storms this week, but at least about 1/3 of the leaves are down. DH has a new, professional grade leaf blower and he's anxious to get out there and play with it!

Yesterday I took Betsy to the Yarn Shop here where she picked up a few skeins. She loves yarn like we love fabric. She got a knobby pink to make a scarf for her DDIL for CHristmas. I got to enjoy all the vibrant colors in the shop, but I kept imagining all the bolts of fabric that used to fill that space. 😥 I miss our LQS

I finally got my picture posted of my DWR, finished. I also had time to finish a LOTR block and sort out the ones I have left to do. I'm making slow but stead progress. After Bob & Betsy leave this morning, I'll finish my sorting and organizing and get another one started. Then some yard work, then a haircut. Finally! My hair is very curly and is getting curlier every year. Right now it's looking like a basketball sized Brillo pad! lol!

JANA - how is Crenda feeling? Poor Matt, missing out on a world series game. But family first! I have a friend here, Carol, who's husband dug a hole in the back yard for some reason. He never completed what he was going to do and never filled the hole in. She kept asking hi to do it, saying someone was going to get hurt. But he didn't. One night she was out in the yard, stepped into the hole, fell, and broke two vertebrae. She had to have surgery a few days later but her hubby had Mariners tickets so he and his dad went to the game and his mom stayed at the hospital, waited through the surgery, and then sat with Carol afterward. That husband would have become a statistic about then if he'd been MY husband!

TINA - if Adam quit-claimed his share of the house over to Holly or to you I can't see how the bank would foreclose on it just because he was no longer on the title. Holly's making the payments on it herself anyway. They would only take it if she got far enough behind on payments. Please, please urge her to get legal advice and not make decisions on what she THINKS may happen. JANA is right - Adam is a manipulator and people like that are very skilled at turning the facts to make themselves look like the victim. Holly really needs someone besides herself or her parents to speak for her. Expensive, but money well spent! And if she has to sell the house, something will come up, even if she has to stay with you for a short while.

BECCA - glad you are still able to get walks in. Our weather is turning wintry (for us, anyway) quickly. I'm having to bundle up now for my walk. I hope you can get an appt soon with the acupuncturist if you decide to give it a try.

VELDA - I don't know who Molly B is or K of C, but sounds like you're in for a good time. Polka is pretty much the same 3-count step as a waltz but no rise/fall on the 1 and 4 beats. And it's a lot faster and it's a lot of fun! I love to polka! and it's GREAT exercise!!

I'm not sure about supper tonite. I haven't given it any thought. It's just been too busy here. I'll check to see what kind of must-go's we have - what happens at lunch - and then assess Bill's hunger scale. We might have eggs, but it could be pasta . . . .

Got any good ideas for your supper? Or ours?
?

Becca, brrrr....What was in the project bags prior to you cleaning them out?

Mary, Brrrr also. It's been in the upper 80's and 90's the last few days. Today it will be low 70's. We used to have a quilt shop/yarn shop combined. I love looking at all the gorgeous colors of yarn. And so many different textures. You DWR is really fabulous.

Tina, so sorry for Holly and your family to have to go though this. Sounds like Adam is a master manipulator. Beware, he's probably going to continue to be a problem. Legal advice is the best route.

The last 2 days when I left the house for my walk it was 70*. Today it was 57*. The boys have been walked and are sleeping. They had a bath yesterday. They are clean and pretty. I worked on a Christmas quilt kit I bought last year. I decided I needed to get Christmas going. My big Janome has been in the shop for a month. I did research and told them what I believe the problem is. They called Janome, and it was confirmed, so now just waiting for the part from NJ. I think they let it sit for a few weeks before calling. I really need it back so I can quilt a few tops.

Dinner will be chicken and smashed potatoes and broccoli.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon!

Been organizing and cutting out my Christmas Ribbons quilt. Need to find scotch tape to continue. Found the perfect piece in stash to fussy cut the centers of the blocks. They are cut and ready. Oh, I miss my big rolling office chair to sit in. Dining room table chairs are the pits to sit in! Oh well, this too will pass......

Dinner - my baked chicken with green beans. Simple and easy.

Michael is doing better every day. He wants to walk down to his office and do some computer stuff. We put a chair to sit on and rest half way between. Doesn't seem that far, but it will be a challenge for a few times. Every step is an improvement, we are so glad for.

Need to scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

Lori - I agree with you on the weather. Yesterday, I walked in shirt sleeves with no sweater or jacket, today I have a sweater on in the house and think I need to go find a sweatshirt!

Becca - Glad you got out for a walk, but it does sound rather chilly!

Jana - Glad you are able to sew, even if it isn't the ideal situation. Like you said, "this to shall pass". It is a good Michael is wanting to do computer work.

Tina - Ditto what everyone else has said. So very sorry this is happening. Holly has my sympathies! It is good the children and her have you so close by.

Mary - Mea culpa! Tonight will be Parmesan Chicken, salad, potatoes and a vegetable. I did the prep work so it will be ready to put in the oven when we arrive home from Mass. DH wants to watch the baseball game, so I will need to find something to do. Oh, I have a quilt that needs binding. Maybe I can get it on this afternoon.
