I was up about 0330 this morning and suddenly the power went off. After scrambling around in cabinets looking for our battery operated lights and finally getting them set up, it went back on. I was concerned because Bob and Betsy are plugged into our power and she is on oxygen. Though I'm sure the concentrator has a back-up system. Still raining here. I've been measuring it in hours coming down, rather than inches since we don't have a rain gauge. And it's been a lot of hours! A couple days' worth of hours! JANA - beware, it's coming your way! Lord knows what form it will take by the time it gets to you!
Yesterday Bill finished quilting my DWR. I made the binding and got it attached on one side. I think I'll have time to sew it down this morning. Then it will be D O N E! I did share a photo of the top last summer when I finished that, but I'll put up another one in a day or two to show it all quilted and bound. Yesterday I finished an LOTR block and started another. Sometimes I dream of life after LOTR . . . .

Today, depending on how Betsy feels, and what the weather is doing (supposed to clear by afternoon!), we might go to Rainy Day Yarns, the shop that moved into our old quilt shop space. Betsy loves knitting. And this evening we're all going to other friends' for smoked turkey soup. I'm taking root beer floats for dessert.
BECCA - I'm happy to hear your doc is on board with trying acupuncture. Do you know if there is a good acupuncturist in your area?
JANA - So are you going to make two twin quilts now? By Christmas?? What do the girls like? Disney? My Little Pony? Barbie? Fabrics are so cute these days! This will be a very fun project! Now to get Michael well so you can get down to your Batt Cave! And I'm like you - I work more from pictures than directions. I usually only read the instructions if I get stuck. lol! WA state laws are so screwy. Even the agencies like Crisis Intervention and Adult Protective Services are frustrated. The laws essentially tie their hands. And we learned the other night that when you call 911 in a case like Vicki's the medics won't respond unless she's "down". And the deputies know her VERY well after many years of this and know the situation will more than likely be resolved by the time they get here. We're a huge county, mostly rural. They have a lot of miles to cover. So they usually don't make it in time. And they can't do anything anyway, except what we and other good Samaritans are doing. What a mess. But when she finally is gone, there will be a hole left in our lives after 36 years. This Vicki is not OUR Vicki.
VELDA - I'm head slapping myself! You DID say echo-, but my mind read electro-. Duh! Sorry. That was so nice that you took supper to your friends! And it's also nice to have choices for supper! Choices that you didn't have to cook!
CAROL - now you are getting the #1 Rule of Supper club! We eat "macaroni and cheese" (my favorite), never you - know - what! And no, I didn't have any reaction to my booster. Not even a sore arm. Bill has light reaction - tired and a bit achy yesterday afternoon but by evening he was back to his normal self. Nothing that kept him from enjoying our guests.
TINA - So - how did yesterday's talk with Adam go? He is so ego-centric that I have little hope this will change him, but at least it puts him on alert that you are fed up with him and his selfish ways. Any progress report from your quilter on your king Christmas quilt?
No cooking here tonite. Looking forward to supper at our friends. Should be a fun evening.
What's for supper at your house?
