SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Oct 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Oct 28, 2021 6:27 am

Good very rainy morning,

We are having heavy solid rain today and tomorrow, some breeze, but not downright wind, at least. But a sunny weekend is in store! Just in time for trick-or-treaters. I do miss my early mornings out on the deck with my coffee. :(

Yesterday was jam packed with action. Appts, errands, cleaning, laundry, sewing, and booster shots. Then as we came home about 6pm - rainy and nearly dark - we had a long interlude with Vicki who was out in the middle of the road again. In heavy going-home traffic. Drivers get angry, honk, spin their tires as they get by her and roar away. So while Bill called 911 - again - I went and tried to get her off the side of the road. And she cooperated! I think when she's belligerent, she is probably drunk. She wasn't either last night. She was actually pleasant and talked to me for quite a while on all sorts of subjects, while she smoked a cigarette while hanging on to her mailbox. I was kind of afraid we'd BOTH get hit. we were only about 2 ft off the pavement. But after about 15 minutes, she finally decided to go back to her house and toddled away. Her muscle movements are so uncontrolled and it takes her some doing to get turned around and under way that I was afraid she'd lose her balance and fall over - onto the road. But she didn't. I was drenched by the time I got back to my own house, but at least we possibly averted a tragedy for the night, anyway.

Today Bob and Betsy arrive. We need to vacuum, but other than that, we're all ready.

TINA, sorry about all the dust. I would be more than happy to send you all the rain you wish, but then you'd have mud. Be careful what you wish for. You must be really super-duper cleaning those rooms! I wish you luck with your Adam talk today. You know he's going to tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear and then go on being Adam, only he'll be angrier with you. Wish he'd agree to quit-claim his share the house over to you or to Holly.

VELDA - you have a lot of fun projects on your plate! Do you plan to do any sewing for Christmas this year in addition to everything else? Hope your EKG all went well. Surprised they just didn't do it at the cardiologist's office. They are so quick and easy.

JANA - I bet now you can see obvious improvement in Michael each day! and I so well remember that MASH episode! Best TV show of all time, IMHO!

BECCA - I'm sorry to hear the utility left such a mess for you to clean up. I'd be writing a letter or making a phone all to make them come do it themselves! It's not right.

CAROL - thanks for the hydration tip! You haven't steered me wrong yet! I've shared it. And while I don't have Pediasure on hand I do have plenty of water and other liquids. (and no, I don't count wine as a hydrating liquid. ).

Tonite's supper is going to be homemade turkey pepperoni pizza and salad. Betsy is bringing a dessert yet to be named. We'll set up a table downstairs in front of the fire in the family room. Betsy doesn't do stairs so well anymore. She's on heavy amounts of oxygen 24/7 now and gets breathless. Much easier to take the supper to her rather than make her come to the supper. Our next house will definitely not be a split level! This is why I always want to clean the garage - it's our "entryway" for most of our aging company. No stairs!

What's your supper plan?

Good morning!

Sarah and Lila just left. We got a tele-med appointment setup with the Dr this afternoon. Sarah will be back to run the technical end of things. Michael is doing well. Lila was so happy to see and hug her Grandpa. She made sure that he had his teddy bear to hold. Aaron is on a short duty shift today, covering for those that are in the training he did yesterday. Me, I am vegging at the moment. Sarah brought me the fabric up from the Batt Cave and pattern. I can read the directions first, so I know what I am doing, before cutting and sewing. So not like me, I sew by pictures.

Aaron and Kate are hunting for a set of bunk beds for the girls. Gracie is in a twin, but Lila is in a toddler bed and she is getting too big for it. The bunks will be part of the girls Christmas, a whole bedroom redo - paint, curtains and bedding. Looks like I will need to make a matching set of quilts for them. Since if you ask them what color anything is, pink is the answer. So I am leaning towards a pink and white log cabin quilt.

Dinner - I think I will do enchiritos. The leftover stroganoff is enough for Michael's lunch.

Mary - when Michael's Dad lived in California with the second wife, she was nuts and called 911 all the time on Michael's dad. She would tell 911 there's a strange man in her house. Well, the last time this happened, Michael was told by the cops that either we put her in a care facility or they would have her committed. It was a sticky situation with her family. But luckily, our Dad moved here and her family had to deal with her. Too bad Washington's laws prevent a similar threat. Hope no reactions with your boosters.

Well, time to straighten a kitchen, and maybe make a cupcake treat for my little kids.

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, I had EKG in office. This was and echocardiogram. It was done at local hospital radiology department. Never saw this test done before. Kinda like a sonogram. Fascinating to watch heart beat on screen. Lots of beats, colors flash. Guess it can see thickness of arteries, valves, and can read blood flow. Interesting to watch, but don't know nuttin about such stuff.
We have leftover pizza tonight. We took pizza over and ate supper with our friends. Husband healing after knee replacement. Thought it would be a nice treat for them. They seemed to be happy and surprised to have us bring in supper like that. So we had one extra pizza and we split between us.
Today I was sewing all day, so it is nice now to have leftovers.
I might change my mind and have chili tonight and eat pizza for lunch tomorrow. Hmmm! Now I need to decide.
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Good Afternoon,

Maryz - How are you feeling? I hope you did not have any reaction to your booster. I feel great today with no lingering side effects. Enjoy your company.

Vel - These new tests are amazing!! They are always sending me to some test or another.

Jana - Glad Sarah can help you with the Virtual Doctor visit.

Tina - Best thoughts being sent your way as you talk to Adam. I hope he will take action.

Becca - So sorry the utility company couldn't clean up after themselves. The Gas Company here killed one of our plants and the Tree Trimmers the City hired killed several plants and stamped on several others! No they did not fix it. Our neighbor was so fed up he put up a sign "Beware of Dog", and no he has no dog!

Tonight's dinner will be something that Mary doesn't like, so I will not tell you.

Carol
