SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Oct 15th
Good morning!
53* here, going to almost 60*! Can't complain about that when Nov is only 2 weeks away.
Yesterday was massage day. My back is feeling so good now! Still working on my wrist, hand. It wasn't carpal tunnel after all, but overuse strain. I've backed off some of my repetitive movements and do the exercises they recommend and it's gradually improving. But I still have to wear the brace. I hardly notice it anymore except when I want to wash my hands.
I got another block finished on AK and hope to get the last of them done today. Then start on the animals. I think only 8 of the 12 blocks have animals appliqued on them. Just dark silouettes. I suppose I need to do some laundry, too - if I remember. I was going to do it yesterday but forgot. Bad me.
JANA - first and foremost - we need a Michael report. Praying it's a good one. I guess the good news is now you can get down to the Batt Cave. . . but this isn't how we wanted that to happen. That property sounds ideal! But too bad it's so $$$. Is Daniel still serious about moving to UT one day? Are your kids driving or flying to DL? And I did a "dollop of Daisy" in the refried beans last night. Yum! Yes, Foxy probably needs diet food. But they also say he needs a special Rx food for tartar on his teeth. Maybe I should buy both and mix them. I've cut his spoonful of wet food that he gets morning and evening down to about 1 tsp instead of 1 Tbsp. He hasn't complained yet. But if I stopped it completely, there would be no living with him!
VELDA - that is a lot of sewing you did! Last time I priced cloth diapers in the store they were about $36, I think. For just a dozen! I used them for all my kids, as disposables were just coming in back then, and we couldn't afford them anyway. Flat diapers were great for little draw sheets in the bassinette under their burpy little faces. And I used them for shoulder burp cloths, too. No, we won't make it to Autumn's by TG. It's 2500 miles and we take is nice and easy, averaging about 250 miles a day. We'll be somewhere in northern or central CA for TG and will arrive at La Hacienda Rv park in Austin Dec 2nd and will stay there until Jan 2nd. Then, after one night in Victoria City campground, we will arrive in Donna, TX for 2 weeks at Victoria Palms RV park. Then start for home about Jan 18. Unless my sis talks us into meeting them someplace (I think they are going to FL) we should get home end of Jan.
BECCA - my chiropractor and massage therapist both say "Do not vacuum!" Or rake or even sweep. The torquing motion from these kinds of activities are bad for the low back/hips/pelvis. If your housekeeper has tested negative and is now symptom free she is most likely the safest person for you to be around now. And yes, Vicki is a very sad case. We used to wonder to each other, "What will become of Vicki?" Now we know. I'm wondering if next time we see her doing her middle of the road show and we call 911, if we should ask for medics instead of law enforcement. They get there faster and they might take her to the hospital for evaluation and assessment. And maybe things would happen . . . The thing is, she seems to have an uncanny sense of when authorities are about to arrive and goes back to her house just before they get there and it looks like we called 911 for no good reason.
LORI - I bet that jasmine smells so good when it's in bloom! We had one once but it didn't like our cold and I think it committed suicide. I do hear from Chickie. She still is suffering from her vertigo, a side effect of her strokes. Some days she is able to cook, walk, and even sew a little. and some days she spends in her recliner. She said she is learning to not make sudden movements like turning as they can set off the dizzies and she will fall to the floor and not be able to tell which way is up. One day she was trying to help Doyal with the fencing, a dizzy spell hit, she fell over into the fence and brush. He had to fish her out, leave her for a bit and go get their ATV, help her into it, and take her back to the house. I don't think it's getting any better, but she is getting better at learning how to live with it. Glad to hear you are improving, though! That surgery can really take it out of you!
TINA - so how did the Great Sleepover of 2021 go? Sounds like the boys weren't going to go home hungry! Yes, you have a much wider temp spread between highs and lows than we do. Right now we are having about 12 degree difference and it looks like you are having 30-35 degree variances! Mike and I lived in CO for a short while back in 1973. He scraped ice off the windshield in the morning and returned home to temps in the 80's - in Sept.
Supper again. It seems to roll around almost every night. don't have a single idea of what to make. Maybe I'll come back here later today and see what all y'all are having and get some ideas. I have chicken in the freezer and two potatoes that need eating. And some broccoli. Maybe a sheet pan dinner . . . .
I hope you have some good ideas to share!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Oct 15th
Good morning!
Not much to report on Michael. He is on a new covid med and a high input O2 mask. I get conflicting reports on the antibiotics and pneumonia. Matt would go up the last time to visit, but he's gone to Dland, so Aaron was stepping in for that job. But he can't. Hospital rules, as Aaron is just over his bout with Covid. Kate can't go either because she comes in contact with sick people on her job. So I am left with phone contact. The nurses are good about keeping me informed. The rest of Michael's vitals, bp, heart, etc are doing fine. Just the O2 problem that is the big concern. Michael wants his glasses, but with no Aaron, that isn't happening.
Dinner - it a question of going to get a take out, or scrounging leftovers. Maybe even pancakes. Not much in the mood to cook.
I have uglies to do. And need to pay some bills. The bills and budget are Michael's thing, so I have to go and see what's due and muddle through . He does a fantastic job of both, but makes it to complicated for me! Just give me the bill and I pay it. Michael will have a mess to straighten out, but at least the bills will be paid.
Mary - would you travel to Florida as well? That would be quite the adventure.
Thanks for all the concern and prayers,
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning!
The sleep over was great for the boys, they were both sound asleep by 8:30. I gave them both baths at 7-7:30 and got all the necessities done by 8, read them a book and we tucked them in, I checked 15 minutes later and they were both asleep. I on the other hand didn't get hardly any sleep, Frankie had a body nose just after 2:30 and I've been up since, checking in the boys, Rosie needed out in the middle of the morning/ night, Easton had a bad dream but didn't wake up, just called for me which woke Matthew up for a minute... I'm gonna need a nap today.
Mary, wish a stranger would call 911, they may take it more serious. Your trip sounds great. Wow you'll be finished with Alaska in no time!
Jana, I do the budget and bills here. I have everything set up for the minimum payment to come out in case something happens to me. I do go on manually every month and pay anything that's been charged off. Frankie would be lost, he doesn't even know how to turn a computer on SMH
I've tried to teach him but that was a major fail. Can you take Michael's glasses to the hospital and someone come out to get them and take them to him? Prayers he gets better quickly

The boys ate leftover spaghetti last night, Easton had seconds and Matthew had a much larger amount than I thought he'd eat. They both did really good.
Tonight's supper is homemade veggie soup, we're watching Jazmyne, Easton and Preston tonight.

Oh how we learn to work the system! Since Aaron can't go up to Michael, we are trying Kate. And if that doesn't work, one of the troopers that works with Aaron has volunteered to go up to Michael's room. I have talked to Michael this morning and warned him about the trooper showing up and not to panic. Troopers are the greatest!
Michael is sounding much better. They have him on a special diet of foods, so he won't aspirate food into his lungs. They are quite worried about that. They have also reduced the percentage of O2 down. He seems to be holding in the 90s again on the reduced amount.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Oct 15th
Hi everyone. I finished my Lotto blocks this morning. I was so busy that I really didn't think I could enter this month. I feel so inclined to support Teresa's efforts, that I pushed myself to at least do two blocks. Her pattern was so easy and fun that I ended up doing 5 all together.
Mary Go Round did such cute blocks, and inspired me to sketch out some fall items ( acorn, pumpkin, leaf, etc. Easy to applique.
So I have my entry ready to mail.
Supper was some left over chicken made into creamed chicken served over mashed potatoes last night Left overs tonight.
Nice to just relax this afternoon. Might make some snicker doodles???

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Oct 15th
Very warm here today! We don't have any wind, but other areas do have wind.
Maryz - You are really making good progress. You will have that quilt for your brother in no time.
Jana - Glad you have someone that can deliver the glasses to Michael. My sister left hers at home one time too. The hospital had a system that when someone dropped something off for a patient it was delivered to them.
Becca - These fall days are the best to get outside! Any porch sitting?
Vel - Glad you are supporting the lotto! Also glad you enjoy making the blocks. That is more than half the fun!
Tina - So good to hear the boys made it through their sleepover. Sorry you didn't sleep well. Enjoy your nap!
Tonight we will be having (leftover) Autumn Soup and Cheese-Garlic Biscuits. I made these a couple of weeks ago and took them from the freezer this morning. It will be an easy meal!

Mary, thanks for the update on Chickie. What a drastic life change for her. She was always so active. I bet it is very hard to adjust. Sounds like you are getting excited for your trip to TX.
Tina, I sure hope you got a nap. The house last night was completely decorated. When I got to the street looking for her house, I found it because she had the entire front yard decorated with fun things.
Jana, good news about Michael. Hope he continues to improve.
Thanks Becca.
Carol, I think this is just going to be a short heat wave. I was so enjoying the fall like weather.
For dinner I'm going to make wild caught ______, with rice and zucchini. It will be delicious.
Have a lovely evening.

Jana, happy news and I hope it continues.
Lori, how cool! I can see it in my minds eye!
Becca, I did take a nap today LOL.
I made a huge pot of veggie beef soup and it fed 9 people till they were all full and none was left! Easton had 4 bowls, most everyone else had 2 bowls, Matthew just had 1 bowl.
Well I need to give Easton and Preston their baths and then Jazmyne can take hers and then we'll all head over to their house for the rest of the evening so they can clean their rooms and then go to bed and Frankie and I will just stay there till Holly and Adam get back from the concert.... probably around 1:30am. I'm going to try to sleep past 5 in the morning LOL
