Good morning,
We are really roaring through August, aren't we! The air is different here, crisper, clearer. I'm sitting out on our deck but these deck mornings are numbered.
Yesterday I cleaned my living/dining room, kitchen and sewing room. Nothing is really different, but it looks 'refreshed'. I also swapped out some summer quilty things for fall. Got my 3 loaves of zucchini bread made and then put together a comfort quilt top from donated blocks. And Bill DID get my Spell Dancer loaded, went to the computer room just as I predicted, and got lost in the squirrel's nest in there. He finally did come up with a Halloween pattern, but did nothing about loading or sizing it. It was lunch time! Then he disappeared outside for a few hours with his new Stihl toys. Sigh. Today he's going shooting with Drew so no quilting today. But! I get a play day! At least a few play hours. And Drew is bringing his sketches so I will probably either play with those sketches, make another comfort top, or do some little Christmas stockings. Choices abound!
TINA - My dad was also born in 1912. January. Only about 1/2 mile from where I live now. And I was born 1/2 mile the other direction of where I live now - at my godparents' house. I love handwork of all kinds, my mom taught me embroidery when I was 6 and crochet soon after. I've always got something going.
BECCA - you are further south than we are so you wouldn't lose as much daylight as we do. My brother in Alaska is losing a LOT. Come December his daylight will be about 4 hours a day of weak yellowish light. Kudos to your DGD! Talented and smart!
JANA - glad Aaron and other LEOs have each other's backs. We are just handing our country over to the criminals, letting them call the shots. And I do mean shots. Yay for finding the lost packages! When is the wedding? Will it be in St. Geo? I skipped out on mopping yesterday. After sweeping, my floor looked like it could go another week.
I think we are having Yankee Dip sandwiches tonite - like french dip only with sirloin burger instead of roast beef. Going to be another nice evening so we're going to take advantage while we can and grill. I'm out of fresh veggies so no side salad. Maybe baked beans.

Hi everyone. I know I am late. Actually I am cooking now. Pork chops again nice and tender I hope
Leftover mashed potatoes, and whole kernel corn. Might not bother with salad. A neighbor brought me two garden grown tomatoes. Maybe I will slice those
Today was assembly of six drawers for my big dresser. Everything went so smoothly. When we got to the very last step of adding the drawer glides, we decided to do one and try it. Good thing we did!! Found we didn't postition them correctly. So we looked at directions again. When we finished, all but one drawer fit great. But I had to readjust several times, but finally got it! Something was definitely marked wrong with the pre-marked places for screws.
I left a not- so- great review.
I was so delighted with the whole process until we got to that last step. Grrrr!! Ugh!
Tomorrow we are going to do the two night stands. Then we will tackle the Chest of drawers after those are finished.
I live my small dinette. It perfect for two people.
Nice to be able to sit at the table to eat meals.
Last night we ordered a pizza, but sat at our new table, just the same. Nice!!
Have a nice evening
