SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, June 27

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jun 27, 2021 6:57 am

Good morning!

Loving the cool cool cool of the morning. In a few hours we'll close windows and blinds and hunker down for the day. Our visit with Lee & Lara and grandsons was so nice yesterday. The boys are such nice young men. Alec turns 24 next week and Drew will soon be 28. Drew was so proud of his house and all the changes and improvements he's made in the last 5 years. He's learning a lot about home-ownership. He's getting a new roof next week. It was fun to watch his eyes glow as he gave us the tour. (and it was also fun to see quilts I'd made him displayed on beds!). That boy may have earned himself another quilt! :D

Today will be a scorchier scorcher than yesterday. I don't feel like doing anything. I need to clean trailer and do some yard work, but probably neither is going to happen. I am considering cooking dinner out on the deck this morning (Bill has the camp stove set up) and then just nuking it tonite. We worry about Vicki in this heat. She does have the mental acuity to cover her windows with sheets (at least she does it in winter), but otherwise, I'm not sure how she is going to cope with 110*. And she won't let anyone help her.

LORI - I googled both of your patterns. Amazing! They should keep you out of trouble for a while. I noticed a couple of corrections made in 2018 in the Lincoln Log Cabin. I assume you caught those? Or perhaps your version of the pattern has already been corrected.

JANA - nice to have a neighbor ask to do yard work for you! Of course, of course! lol! Sorry Sarah has problems with the in-laws not respecting her dietary needs. Maybe she needs to carry a doctor's note when she goes there. Our DIL also has a list of about 4 things she can't eat. I have that list posted on our calendar and have always tried to cook around that.

VELDA - I thought - a walk, how nice! But then it sounded like you are hauling either a computer or TV along with you! Way to double your exercise! Guess I've never heard of Leslie Sansone.

We did grill our pork chops yesterday morning while it was cool. I think we'll make our pork fried rice this morning on the camp stove outside and then will just reheat tonite. I will also make a salad and cover it with a damp paper towel and pop it into the fridge. Will be nice to have supper ready!

What's on your menu for tonite?

Good afternoon. We treated ourselves to breakfast out again after church. We did bring our computer to do church on Facebook Live.
But our exercises is thanks to our son having fast internet and big screen TV that connects to internet. Before he left, he gave me a tutorial on "how to connect".
Search or Google: Leslie Sansone and you will see lots of DVDs to buy, and I was lucky to find some 20 and 30 minute routines on You Tube.
Since I forgot to pack our DVDs, this worked out beautifully!
I did up our laundry this morning, so we take all clean clothes home tomorrow.
I don't blame you for taking it easy in your giant heat spell. And no A/C??? Bummer!
Supper tonight will be ham sandwich for hubby and salad for me.
Relax and enjoy your afternoon.

Mary, that is hot. Try and do as little as possible. I love having dinner made and ready.
It's doesn't happen too often here.

Velda, there are lots of exercise programs on Youtube. Glad you found one you like.

I'm going to finish up my Lincoln Log Cabin top today. I also need to clean up the sewing space. It gets messy fast.

For dinner I think we'll do pizza since we didn't have it last night.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon!

We are hot, but not that oppressive triple digit heat. It was 80 last night as the fireworks show was on. Nice to sit on the deck and watch.

Dinner a munchy here or there. We did a late brunch of our usual, so we won't be to hungry later.

I got the Batt Cave in some asemblance of order. The floor is no longer gritty. It was swept and mopped. Vacuumed the furniture off too. Might be all for naught as we may start the next section of the ceiling on Monday. All that area is away from my sewing, it's over the railroad tables. The start all depends on my handyman as he is getting over bronchitis. But we are ready.

Andrew is heading to scout camp in a week or so and needs some shirts embroidered with a scout logo, so I wil be doing that first this week. Logan is going too, so I may need to do some shirts for him as well. Then work on some of my quilts.

Stay Safe
Hugs,
Jana
