SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, June 26th
Good morning,
We are a cool 67* this morning, going to a toasty 97* later. I've got all the windows open and the overhead fan going to bring as much cool air in as possible. We'll shut up the house later this morning and pull the blinds.
Yesterday's visit with Lee & Lara was nice. They stay about 5 hours and we got caught up on everything from colonoscopies to the height of our trailer! lol! We'll see them again today at Drew's house in Bremerton where we'll celebrate Alec & Bill's birthdays. We're taking dessert and they are ordering delivered pizza. So the pork chops I thawed yesterday - and we didn't eat last night - won't get eaten again tonite so we're going to grill them this morning and put them in the fridge for another day.
I did have a little 'me' time yesterday and I cut out 23 small blocks for my GD3 quilt. I have almost all the cutting done on them now. Only a few more to go before I need to start sewing. I haven't had my machine on for 3 weeks! But sewing requires a hot iron and that's not happening for a few more days.
And on pork fried rice, Jana, you are right - I never add salt if I use Rice a Roni. I often will also add diced celery or water chestnuts. Sometimes I use chicken or turkey. But I usually do scramble the egg in with the rice. It's how my old Betty Crocker recipe told me to do it.
So to recap - tonight's supper is going to be pizza and a birthday dessert yet to be named because I have to go to the store. Lara and fam don't care much for cake so it will probably be whatever I can find - cheesecake? Dixie cups? Cupcakes? Seems funny to BUY a dessert for a baker's birthday but it's too hot to turn on my oven as much as I'd love to. And he is coming off a 10 hour shift at work ( 4am to 2pm) and sure doesn't want to bake anything either!
What's happening in your kitchen tonite?

Mary, that is crazy hot for you. I read about you falling over the dog. Those things seem to happen more when we are tired. I've done the same thing tripping over the dog or cat. Glad you are okay.
We don't need another quilter down.
Jana, it sounds like the mechanism in the door is just out of whack. They tend to shift sometimes. Hope it's an easy fix.
Yesterday was spa day with some friends. Today is my JN class. I'm starting a new pattern called Lincoln Log Cabin. It's a small wall hanging. It's cut and ready to sew. I also have my Summer Solstice cut and ready to sew. I think reading the instructions is the most difficult part. lol
Dinner will be pizza.
Have a lovely day.

Good morning!
Not much going on here. Michael is mowing the grass. It looks so pitiful. Not much water does that. Our neighbor got a new toy, a power lawn edger, so came over and asked if he could do our front yard. Of course!
Sarah has one of those have to go to in law parties. No one pays attention to food allergies, so nothing is safe for Sarah to eat. She takes her own, and they give her grief over she won't eat their food. And it's outside in the sun, which at the moment is a problem with her antibiotics. She found a restaurant here in Herriman she can eat at. She was a very happy camper!
I am heading to the Batt Cave to play. Nice and cool down there.
Dinner - salads. Michael's diabetic numbers have spiked, so when that happens, he eats very light to bring them back under a tad of control.
Well, better scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

Hello supper club. I am late. Well lazy is a better word.
We really enjoyed our big breakfast out this morning. Now for supper just fixing smokie links and chips and peach fruit cups.
Nothing but TV watching today. Except we will do 1/2 hour walk with Leslie Sansone. She has 20 minute or 30 minute walk along on You Tube.
Here at our son's, I can open on his "smart TV" that connects to internet.
Happy Day to all.
