SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, March 14th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Mar 14, 2021 3:52 am

Good morning,

We had such a pretty day yesterday. I hung flannel sheets on the line and they dried! I didn't even have to finish them in the dryer. Bill washed both vehicles and the fur-boys simply basked in the sunshine. We also did a big Costco run and I spent an hour stocking the cabinets and fridge. I worked a little on DWR and, for the first time this year, I sat out on our deck with some quilting mags and sipped a cool drink. (Ok, a margarita, if you must know. ;) ) Today will be cool and rainy again, but the sun is coming back for St. Paddy's Day!

The uglies are all caught up, the laundry is done, the grocery shopping is complete. I think today I will bake something and sew something. While looking through a magazine yesterday - forget which one and I'm too lazy to go look - I found a pattern that I kind of fell in love with. It has pieced stars in 3 or 4 different sizes all over it. I think they were Ohio stars. I am picturing that quilt done in bright batik stars of various colors set on a background of dark blue with little winky stars. We'll see if I'm tired of working with batiks after I finish the DWR. This might be my next project.

CHICKIE is still in the hospital but is feeling much better. They are doing a lot of tests, and tweaked her meds some. But the IV fluids with electrolyte replenishment have really helped her, too.

BECCA - More family visits to look forward to. It's good to be you!

LORI - Did you finish up that quilt you were working on? What's next?

MARY ROSE - sorry the EQ7 is so confusing. But you are doing better than I would be!!

I was thinking of pork chops and mashed potatoes for supper but then remembered, DH is having anesthesia at 7:30 tomorrow morning. I have learned the hard way to eat lightly the day before so maybe it will just be poached eggs, or possibly pancakes. Or perhaps tomato soup and grilled cheese. I'll let him choose.

What's your choice for tonite?

Mary, I finished the top and used all the leftovers for the back. I just need to layer it today.
I think I know how I want to quilt it. I love patterns with stars of all sizes. I have a few saved for someday.

For dinner we'll have baked potatoes with chili on top.

Mary-Good morning...It's not the EQ7 program being difficult, lol, it is me remembering the steps. Heck, I can't even figure out how to have 2 windows open at the same time on my computer so I can have the program up in one window and the instruction manual up in a second window. Brain clouds galore...

Lori-Yum...Maybe I will bake some potatoes and use the remainder of our chili poured over them, topped with cheese and green onions. Thanks for the inspiration.

Happy eating and stitching throughout your day.

Mary/Rosebud

Good morning!

Today will be the first day in about a year, that we will have all of us together for dinner. Turkey dinner at Matt's tonight. Whoo hoo, I don't have to cook. Everyone in the family, except Sarah has been vaccinated. Her Dr is watching and waiting, as her autoimmune system is acting up. Sarah may have to have the shots broken up into, more than just the two. We had to do that when she was a baby for all those shots. Even Sandee and Scott can come. Sandee has even started back to teaching in person at her school.

I teach at noon, my time today. Everything thing is ready, I hope, or I will wing it! LOL! Hung up another quilt top, UFO, a dresden plate, made to look like sunflowers, scrappy yellows, as my backdrop. We hide the mess of railroad construction.

We turned most of the clocks ahead already. I have many clocks in this house and we did the important ones first.

Matt's truck, Enoch is finally home from being repaired. The last was a small oil leak, where the seal on the pan didn't seat properly. Now Enoch just needs some miles to get the smog system in its right configuration to be tested for his registration. So my Solara is back home here. Out in the cold! At Matt's, she stayed in the extra garage.

Time to scoot,
Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Of course all the engineers in this family just reminded me its PI (pie) day! Where's my pie, he asked. I totally forgot, so I will do one tomorrow. PI = 3.14.....

Hi everyone!
We went to Cruces today for a Lowe's order LOL I was thinking it was Home Depot... at least I had the email to remind me where we were picking up from.
It was a really windy nasty day. I had cleaned my house all up yesterday and when we got home the dirt was blowing so bad that it took me an hour to vacuum where the silt was getting in around the windows on the west side and to where I could breath without coughing. I sent more pics off in an email to the state from today and begged them to send someone out here to get something done.
Becca, I've never liked DST either. To me it had a purpose when it was originally done during WWI but I think now it's obsolete and needs to be done away with. If businesses want to change times fine let them, they usually have summer and winter hours anyways. But I think they should leave the rest of us alone. Our crazy state is voting to keep it at this time, ugh! I really hope it doesn't pass. They didn't even ask the people.
We had leftovers for supper.
I'm exhausted so I'm gonna scoot for tonight.
Tina
