SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, March 13

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Mar 13, 2021 6:56 am

Good morning,

I couldn't sleep last night so I took a PM. Now I'm late and groggy. Ugh. I hate that feeling.

CHICKIE UPDATE: She is back in the hospital as of yesterday afternoon. She's been feeling pretty rocky the last few days and finally got in to see her new doctor and vomited into the wastebasket during her exam. Her electrolytes, especially sodium, are out of whack and she is dehydrated. Her son's girlfriend, and ER nurse, was with her and Doyle at dr and she took Chickie to ER after the appointment and Chickie was admitted on the spot. She said they drew a lot of blood. She started feeling better through the evening as ER fluids started hydrating her. I texted her this morning, but so far no answer back. Patients are busy in the mornings.

TINA - happy vacation!! And I hope the dust is kept down. At least the farmer is now aware of the problem.

BECCA - did you have a nice visit with your friends? Your snack spread sounds delicious! I may have to drop by if that's how you feed your guests!

ROSEBUD - I like the idea of a shadow box (attic window?) border. Once, I did a border where I accented the upper right corner and the lower left corner with a coordinating fabric. I extended the fabric from the corners halfway to the center in both directions so it was longer on the longer sides of the quilt. It gave an interesting and artistic effect without distracting from the star of the show - the quilt itself.

JANA - so happy to hear Ruby is home from her walkabout!! My yard would definitely drive you crazy. I leave it a natural as possible and make the most of nature - ferns, big rocks, old logs, Oregon grape, salad, huckleberry, huge trees, etc. We have very little formal areas. Surprisingly, keeping it natural requires some work, too!

LORI - there ya go! You have an automatic boo boo bandager in the house! It's not his fault if you don't get many boo boos. But he's standing by . . .

Our supper last night turned out not so bad. Except I had planned to make a sauce for over the chicken and just realized a moment ago that I forgot that part! lol! I tried a new Rice-a-Roni flavor - Buffalo Chicken. It was good, but spicy. The cauliflower, I par-boiled, broke up and laid in a backing dish, topped with seasonings, cheeses, bread crumbs, and a bit of melted butter. It was pretty good! Tonite will be seconds - and maybe I'll remember the sauce for the chicken this time.

Becca, strawberries this time of year are so wonderful.

Jana, you must be doing the happy dance this morning.

Mary, bummer about Mariam. Sure hope they can figure out what's going on with her. It reminds me to drink more water. I don't drink near enough in the winter. As for the Boo boo guy, I think I've put more band-aids and dressings over the years. lol When I sliced my finger with the rotary cutter years ago, he was in Illinois. He probably would have had me go get stitches, but I just put 5 band-aids on it and called it good.

Tina, happy vacation. Will you be heading out anywhere, or just enjoying free time?

I think it's a get you what you can find kind of dinner. There are leftovers from the last 3 days, so nobody will starve. And there's always cereal. One of my faves.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning, it is trying it's best to snow this morning, but all it's getting out are a few spits. Today will be a repeat of yesterday.

Praying for Chickie, Kathy, and all that are in need at this time.

Mary-I think I will see if I can find a free program that can be downloaded for making a cross stitch pattern. If I can I will need to set up my new printer today as well. Lol, I've had it for about 3 years, but because there hasn't been a dire need to print out anything I never set it up. My old one still works for scanning stuff into the computer, but somehow the printer part won't work and I can't figure out what needs to be done to fix it.

Teresa-I have been thinking about getting one of those air cleaning machines as well, but keep procrastinating getting one.

I spent some time struggling with my EQ-7 this morning. I know it would be so much fun to use if I could just get my brain to retain the various steps in the process. It seems that I can't remember what to do from one click to the next. There are no back arrows to take me back a step and I keep getting lost.

Supper tonight is still a mystery here. There is still chili, but I need a change. I'll check the cupboards and freezers later to see what sounds appealing.

Everyone have a blessed day.

Mary/Rosebud
