SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Feb 22nd
Good stormy morning! We're 48* at 0600 but rainy and windy. I believe I will skip walking this morning.
Yesterday I made another quilt label. I used my machine. It doesn't do embroidery but it does do basic alphabets and I finally learned how to use that feature. Yay me! Then I did laundry and cleaned out the bathroom vanity and the hall floor-to-ceiling linen closet. I have a thing for tablecloths. I love them and have about 2 dozen! Don't use them often, but I love each and every one. So one entire shelf is given to just tablecloths. Other than that, I relaxed the rest of the day with a book.
Today I have chiropractor, After that I'll make a binding for my log cabin and get that sewn down and attach the label. Then take a picture and pack it up to take camping next month to give to our friends. Then I plan to make a cherry pie in honor of our state's namesake. I was supposed to get my 2nd Covid shot tomorrow but due to bad weather across the country, it's been postponed a week. That's OK. I was expecting that.
TINA - that cake was amazing! Maria really has a talent! Happy Birthday to your Kevin! How goes the fabric closet?
We ended up with sauerkraut and sausage last night for supper. I was going to make a pizza, thinking I had all I needed, but when I went to gather up everything, realized I was missing key ingredients. So the menu got changed. Tonite, maybe that pizza. And maybe we'll just do delivery! Or take 'n' bake.

Good morning!
Mary, yay you for learning more bells and whistles on your machine! There's so much to learn on them these days.
Our supper last night ended up being tomato basil penne hamburger helper, green beans and garlic bread. I'm glad I planned that early enough because my new dryer quit working and I had to take a load of towels to Dad's to dry. It's still under warranty thankfully plus I have the extended warranty that kicks in for 5 years after the regular one expires. I've already called GE about getting it fixed and they gave me all the info to call the contracted repairman so I'll be doing that as soon as they open.
Frankie is still working on the frame, I think he over thinks things and it drives me nuttier LOL but I'm trying to be good. I can't do much else until he gets the frame done and installed and gets the shelves attached to it and the walls. I can see the finished closet it my mind, it sure looks pretty LOL I just need the reality of it!
I think we're supposed to be in the 60's today. I'm hoping no wind. If there's no wind I can wash another load of laundry and hang it outside, with the wind comes dirt here so I don't line dry when it's windy.
I think we'll have tacos for supper.

Mary, I like to play with the lettering on my machines.
I've used it for a quick label in the past. I also like the deco stitches. I use them on binding sometimes.
Tina, that cake was adorable. Bummer about the dryer. We get extended warranty too. And we've used it many times.
Just been hanging around with DS over the weekend. He is working this morning. I'll probably go out and do some shopping. Just need to pick a quilt shop.
I think we'll do chicken on the grill tonight. It supposed is warm up a little.
Have a lovely day.

Good morning!
I think! Been wild and wooly around here for the past little bit. Matt in hospital, my internet flaking as I was trying to schedule my Covid shot, etc, etc, etc!
Matt is in the hospital for the next 5 days or so. He was having trouble breathing and lots of pain in his leg. Turns out he has a blood clot in his lungs, so the have him on medication for that. This is a post Covid complication. That's all I need!
Then, the place near here to get my Covid shot, opened the registration at 9 am, just as my internet flaked! So quick called Sarah, she has a different provider, much better and wanted her to get me a time. But she misunderstood and thought I was trying to get a grocery order time! Michael got my internet back and I did get on and got a appointment. So on the 24th I get the first shot. So, NOT, looking forward to this. But will do what I have to do. So too, I pick up groceries for us today.
At the moment not thinking about dinner, but I do have a pork roast I can cook for many meals this week.
Now need to to get the adrenaline back under control,
Hugs,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Feb 22nd
Good very late morning from a very soggy, cold SW. Pa...We did start out with snow about 5:00 this morning and then turned to rain...But, that does mean it's above freezing so things are gradually melting...A mess but hopefully getting rid of some of the snow....
Mary, sounds like you had a productive day, yesterday....Always fun to learn new things or figure out how things work...I like the idea of spending the rest of the day with a book....The other night when we were leaving after playing cards, the gal insisted I bring home one of her Steel books, The Wedding Dress...I haven't been reading her books lately so this might be a treat and just might spend some of my day, feet propped up, book in hand.....
Tina, thank goodness you have that warranty...When I hear about hanging out clothes I really am jealous...I love to hang out, do miss my line but have a thingie I can put on my back deck and use it every chance I get...Jim used to tease me about taking in laundry because I was always hanging something out....I think we're all anxious for Frankie to get your shelves done...Can't wait to see the pictures....
That cake was really special...She is very talented to come up with something like that.....
Lori, sounds like your day is going to be a good one...I wouldn't have much to choose from in quilt shops around here...We have 1 and it's just a hole in the wall but I always manage to find something....
Jana, Oh My, so sorry to hear about Matt...I've heard about some of the after affects, so many different things...Will pray extra hard for a quick recovery...Glad to hear you did get an appointment..I'm still waiting but here in Pa. we have a shortage but I'm sure sooner or later, I'll get mine....
Today, I am so determined to clean up my sewing room and sort or get rid of fabric I'll never use...I also have more floss to sort through and send to my friend in Florida...
I woke up before 4:30 and by 5:00 decided enough of the bed...Had the paper read and my coffee done by 5:30 ...Baby Girl was so confused, poor thing is still mixed up but taking another nap, now....
But, I did have some excitement yesterday morning...Got up and found I had no water! Had water at 2:30 when I went to bed but in between, it froze...So, I called our emergency number and within the hour, a young fellow was checking it out...He said, there was a part that didn't do it's job and caused the line to freeze (did get down to 1 )...Took him an hour, thawed out the line and replaced the part and we were back in business...And of course the whole time, I'm thinking, $$$ signs and praying it wouldn't be too bad BUT was pleasantly surprised when he said, no charge...I still don't believe it!
As for dinner, that is really up in the air...I made cinnamon rolls yesterday and knowing me, I can't let them along so I might just eat rolls.....
Hope you all have a great rest of the day.......
Happy eating..................

Maryz - So fun to just use the sewing machine to make a label! I think I need to learn to use machine rather than embroidery unit.
Tina - Very nice cake! Good theme!
Becca - Glad your DD took some of the towels.
Irish - You are a night owl!
Jana - Prayers for Matt! Covid is nothing to mess with at any age! I only had a slightly sore arm with my first shot. I hope the second one goes so well!
Tonight's dinner will be Teriyaki Chicken and rice. I will be picking up a grocery order this evening right after dinner. I honestly can say it would be easier to go do the shopping myself, except I think it safer this way.
