No exciting weather here - just 40* and damp. But it will be a big day! I have a massage appt at 11:00 and Bill is getting his first Covid shot. Then this afternoon his friends from his exercise class invited us to their house for happy hour. There will be 6 of us in a large room, well spaced. It will be so good to be out again! Bill also made reservations for Valentine's Day (our 29th anniversary) at an Italian restaurant about a mile from our house. Restaurants were just opened this week to 25% capacity in WA. We haven't been in one for over a year. Will seem strange.
In sewing news, I got binding on "Fox" and started cross-stitching my label. And I worked on my little 9P's for my Get Together quilt. I'll be doing more of them today. And Bill loaded Norm & Nanette onto the LA. He's going to quilt it with a pattern called Hearts Meander.
JANA - things are never dull at your house! Hope the engine check code thingie isn't heralding a big deal for poor Enoch and Matt! They've done their time! We ordered our furniture last January before anyone had uttered the word "Covid". It was supposed to take 10 weeks to get it and it turned into 5 months before it finally arrived. So, it might be best to go ahead and resettle into your old bed.
BECCA - I have a shoebox full of Aunt Martha's patterns. I've used many of them and some are still unopened. I've done a few crewel patterns - a Christmas stocking and a black and white cat. Not sure what happened to them. I've also done a needlepoint of horses in a snowy field, red barn in the background, pole fence in the foreground. I put it on the wall every winter. I've done candlewicking and, of course, cross-stitch. There is a series of cozy mysteries I enjoy by Monica Ferris that centers around a needlework shop called Crewel World. Maybe you would like them. Projects that the characters are working on are mentioned and they are real projects by real designers. I actually Google them so I can picture what everyone is doing. lol! Some are doing crewel, some cross-stitch, some knitting, etc.
IRISH - Well, I'm happy that you had the peaches all ready to go for me! And store-bought crusts are fine with me. They almost taste like homemade nowadays. Glad you got taxi service to your sisters for one of her scrumptious meals! I love snow, but have to admit, I'm much less adventurous now than I was 30 years ago. I'm happy to sit inside by the fire and watch it from the warm side of the window! I didn't know Terry lost Scout. I did know he was getting a bit rickety and his time was looming. But nothing fills that hole in your heart like puppies! I love big dogs. I'd have a great pyranese if Bill would go for it. Collies, shepherds, goldens, labs, huskies - I love them all!
MARY ROSE - sure hope you can get some relief, both physical and financial, from some avenue. I have an attachment on my machine that I can set at any width up to about 2-1/2" so I can sew even lines. It's just kind of like a bar that follows the previous line of sewing so the new line is perfectly spaced. Did I or Chickie mention that she has a few of those templates for quilting on her sewing machine? She might have valuable input.
LORI - How is your Vintage Tin coming along? I still have Over the River and Through the Woods to do some day. I think I might do it in colors, though, rather than all in blue or red work or 'other color' work. Are your tamales from Trader Joe's? My parents had a peach tree. and I remember one year it even had a peach on it!

Tonite, since we are going to friends for HH, there will be no cooking of supper here. I'm making deviled eggs to take along. Half of them will be topped with dill weed and half with smoked paprika. And maybe I'll even tuck an olive slice on the tops just to be fancy-dan.
What's the plan at your house?
