SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Jan 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:44 am

Good morning,

We are 40* this morning and it's supposed to be rainy and breezy, but so far, all is calm. There is a 1600 shot vaccination clinic at a church just past our house today. Mobile LED signs have been placed on either side of our driveway to direct traffic. Guess we won't be going anyplace today. Yesterday we ended up going to Costco, where, while pushing a very heavy cart while DH was making a phone call, I torqued my back and it was really hurting by the time we got home. So, after packaging foods for the freezer, I was off to chiropractor, and then, I got an impromptu haircut. Very little sewing got done. But today, I'll be all over those paper pieces!

BECCA - I remember your DGS getting married - and him sending your TP! I bet they are excited about the new baby. In your family people are probably more excited to hear if it's going to be one or two rather than boy or girl!

JANA - Funny about the waterbed. I used to have a waterbed, too, and with cats, there were a few leaks.
But oh, all that storage underneath was great! Until, like you said, the bed had to be moved. When will your new floor be laid? Will this be DIY or is your "guy" doing it? Is that next or the ceiling? Exciting times at your house and at Judi's, too, as she is re-doing her basement as well. I want in on that tour Tina requested. Our stairs and bathroom, when they get started, will be small potatoes in comparison. We finally remembered to call the flooring guy yesterday but he was out on a measuring appt so we left a message. We are in no hurry.

TINA - you were busy in your sewing room! I forgot what you are doing with all those strips. A tee shirt isn't difficult as long as you use iron-on stablizer. 50 is a lot of shirts and this project could get quite expensive so hope someone else is paying for fabric and supplies. You could always just cut logos from the "lesser" shirts and sew them into borders. I bet Mary Rose had an endocopy or colonoscopy? Hope she gets favorable results back soon.

LORI - Bill and I got a regular king bed after we got married. (29 yrs on Feb 14). I haven't missed the waterbed at all. We have a dual control mattress warmer now and I warm up my side before I go to bed. Cozy! I don't know if all your crew would fit in my 10x10 sewing room! lol! Scottie joins me often. Especially if it's getting close to his suppertime. He's big for a sheltie - almost the size of a small golden when he sprawls out. Just doesn't weigh as much at 36#.

Bill chose breakfast last night and HE COOKED! Sort of. I had potatoes all par-boiled and shredded plus the onions and peppers were diced. But he did look fine holding the spatula in front of the potato pan! I did the eggs, and we shared turning the bacon. And it was all delicious! So tonite will be mini-meatloaves, baked potatoes, and roasted brussels sprouts.

How is the planning going in your kitchen?

Good morning!
Mary, yes those are both the procedures that Maryrose had, I believe anyway.
I'm making a toddler quilt out of those strips. I'll attach a pic, it's laid out just not perfectly straight LOL
We're going to run over to Cruces this morning to pick up my ruler of the months and a little gadget I had ordered plus swing by one of Frankie's sisters ro pick up an order she picked up for me at Christmas LOL we haven't been anywhere lately. We'll stay outside and wear masks though.
I'm wanting to make spaghetti for supper and we have a nice big salad already made.

Good morning!

The partial tour of the Batt Cave is up. The best pictures are stuck in never never land trying to upload from my phone. I will try again in a short while. They showed the portable ironing station, which we saw a similar IKEA hack, but Sarah improved it.

Dinner - something easy to chew. Michael's teeth are jarred from cleaning, which he hates, so I will do easy chew food for a couple of days.

Today, I am packing up stuff in the master bedroom to paint on Monday. The worst is Michael's desk. His job!

Mary - Costco runs can be dangerous! They wear me out to, repackaging to just two size.

Tina - love the quilt! Just be sure to count and make sure there are equal number of blocks on each side. I have didn't and one side of a quilt is one block off, which I didn't see 7ntil I was hand quilting and my lines didn't line up.

Time to get busy,
Hugs,
Jana

Becca, I embroider a lot. It's so relaxing for me.

Tina, love that quilt. I forget how great plain ole squares can look in different patterns. I may have to make on of those myself. lol

Jana, I take pictures and then download them to my computer for editing before I post. Doing it on the phone is a pain. You are going to have sew much fun in your new sewing space. Our water bed frame was the same way. Had to take the whole thing apart.

Mary, we have the heated mattress pad, but it gets hot in the summer. We don't sleep with the A/C on.
My sewing room is 9 x 11. I have a loveseat for sitting and stitching in there, so at least one of the furry kids is up with me. There's also a cat perch in the window. It gets a bit crowded, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Dinner will be beef ravioli and garlic bread. Nothing fancy.
