Good morning!
I hope I have the day right today. Life has been a little crazy this past week. But we did make it to Longmont and have my sister settled in her house now. We helped Allan unload the trailer and today he and Bill will finish that, take it to dump the tanks, winterize it, and then take it to storage. I will be at my sister’s house doing laundry. Ours and maybe hers. And whatever other chores I can do to help them re-settle. Her knee feels better (10 days post-op), but this serious injury on top of her shoulder fracture Oct 27, which was on top of her elbow/wrist/hand injury in August have left her in a bit of a mental funk. Time for me to make my exit! Which we plan to do tomorrow morning if weather holds.
Jana, we are watching the weather closely. Tomorrow morning will finally determine our route for sure but at this point we plan to blast across Wyoming and hope to make it to Evanston, WY (~420 miles). If you have a weather forecast for Thursday and Friday between Evanston and Twin Falls that would be great! We have signed up for DOT alerts for Wyoming and Utah plus we have two different weather modules on our phones which are varying wildly. But if Aaron has any extra input, we are more than happy to hear it! We see a big storm coming so we may hole up in Evanston or Rock Springs an extra night
Our friend, Tex, has his old trailer parked in our RV shelter at home. Expecting us to be gone til mid-Feb, he took his new trailer and is spending 2 weeks at our favorite campground at the coast. So we are thinking we might just go join him for a few days rather than going straight home. It’s a baby plan yet, but growing in Bill’s head. It sounds OK to me.
Chickie, thanks for correcting my mistake yesterday. Hope you’re getting a handle on all those scraps! They can get out of hand. Then it’s time to make this scrappy project
Tina, the first day back from Christmas break and the boys have the day off? That seems odd to me. But then this whole school year has been odd. And yes, it sounded good to hear you got your quilt on the frame.
Becca, hope you are getting some good walking weather. I want somebody to have some warm sunshine!
Carol, I am very pleased to hear your sister is making progress. I assume she has been in the hospital this whole time? I bet she is getting tired of that!! Any surgery date on her horizon yet? Not been a good month for sisters!
Lori, your Emma, and Chickie’s Brutus, both look a lot like my sweet Bunny. All Pretty tabbies. She has been gone five years now but I still miss her gentle company in my sewing room. She and Riley both loved to nestle into sloppy piles of fabric, which there are always plenty of. I know how much you miss her.
Irish, any eagle updates?
I think tonight’s supper will be spaghetti. A day late for national spaghetti day. Allan says he is going to make it for us – his specialty. They have veggies for a small salad, too, so I will probably be making that.
What are your thoughts on supper tonite?

Good morning!
Mary - I will have Aaron check with his weather gurus and let you know. We are in between storms until this weekend. Most of the storms are coming from your permanently attached to the ground home. They are very wimpy and stingey with the snow, so that could be a good thing with you traveling. Glad you have made it so far safely, prayers won't stop just because you have Tina home!
Dinner - most likely a chef salad. It's nice to have fresh veggies I hand picked, so will make use of those. The personal shoppers are pretty good, but some of the kids have no idea on quality and the difference between parsley and cilantro! Sometimes you get the wrong item, and my store is good about fixing the errors. It is a local store, only here in Utah. Quite a number of stores, but still a Utah only. Just learned that Herriman will be getting another local owned grocery here in town too. Now if only Trader Joe's would come to this side of the valley!
Sewing today. Our handyman will be here. Working the final details for the island countertop. He will make the custom top and fit all the pieces parts together. I have to keep the engineer out of the plans, he keeps trying to tell me I need certain things, certain ways, ergonomically, but I know what and how I want it, so guess who wins! I know he is trying to help, but, I have been sewing longer than we have been married, so with that said, ..... Oh, I can be very stubborn too!
Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Izzy, when were the babies born? Are you looking for Christmas names or Wintory names or names like Buttercup and Bluebonnet?
Jana thank you. But we have checked southern routes and decided it will only be three more nights on the road with no weather worries. After More consideration and whether/route research we feel we have had our share of stress for the past two weeks and we’ve decided to go south through Albq, Flagstaff, Barstow, and then north through California and just pretend we are on a normal trip and try to enjoy it . A big thank you to you and to Aaron too. May his week be an easy one!

Mary - glad you decided the southern route. Only snow to worry about is Tejon pass, Techapi and Siskyous. Just don't stop long in California !

Me again - engineer tried, but I got things the way I wanted! Our guy says it is not going to be hard and he can make the countertop and there will be no seam in the center! Whoo Hoo! Aaron needs to make a run to IKEA for me today to get the last cabinet.

Jana, glad you got it the way you wanted. That's the way it should be.
Mary, I bet the rest of your trip home will be a breeze after the last few days. I imagine traveling
with someone who is not well is difficult. Thanks for the kind words about Emma. No, Molly is not a quilting kitty. She's always been off to herself. Maybe that will change. Although I won't count on it. She is almost 16 and set in her ways.
Izzy, yeah for cute goats. They are fun to watch when they play.
Chickie, Emma was bigger in her youth. I think she was born to a feral mother. She walked like a wild Cheetah. We used to just love to see her strolling across the patio.
I got my Janome back yesterday. I'm going give the Bernina away and buy another small machine for travel, and back up. I haven't sewn if a while. I was spending most of my time with Emma. I was looking at pictures of her, and she is on almost every quilt I've made in the last 15+ years. From the fabric stage to completed quilt. My quilts always come with cat hair.
I'm not cooking tonight. So dinner will be whatever you want out of the fridge or freezer.

Tomorrow will be my busy shopping day Will go early & get it done because I have 3 others stops to do Even going to pick up books at Library They put them on a table & you get them outside
We have leftovers of the cowboy beans

Hi everyone!
Mary, I don't think there's any bad weather here in NM but wowzer are the mornings ever cold lately, stay warm! They have a lot of in service days here.
Jana, glad you got it the way that works for you!
Lori, those are special memories ❤
Becca, I'm glad Levi is ok, that was scary.
I've got Dad's quilt halfway quilted! I'm just practicing using the lock thing to make straight lines..... there's some oops but Dad's understand these things ❤ it's my learning curve. It's really quilting very nicely, I'm really surprised since I've been told it wouldn't be.
We have a Walmart order to pick up at supper time so maybe I'll luck out and not have to cook.
Tina
