SUPPER CLUB - Sat., Aug 29

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Aug 29, 2020 6:33 am

Good morning!

I beat the rooster up! But then I usually do. Such a sweet sound to wake up to - a young rooster who just figured out his purpose in life! lol! If you didn't see my post yesterday, BECCA is out of the hospital, but still in bed at home. CA says she has a long way to go. I have her address if anyone wants to send her a card.

We are having purrfect weather here this week. Not too hot, but plenty warm enough to enjoy in shorts and tees. Yesterday I got one quilt quilted and trimmed. Still needs a binding. And we loaded another one but then I had to leave for haircut and after that I just came home, swung through the circular driveway, slowed down while Bill jumped in, and off we went to the chiropractor. By the time we got home, I was over being productive for the day. So I'll quilt the next top this morning and then load another one up. The rest of my day will be mopping floors, packing clothes into the trailer, and, if I can nail Bill down, laundering the dog. He always gets a bath and a haircut before he goes into the trailer for a long trip. It's a two-person job. He's only 35# but boy, can he fight if he wants to. And when it comes to baths, he wants to!

TINA - last night I saw a commercial on TV for a medication for dogs with persistent itchy problems like yours. I'm trying to think of the name of it - Apelaquel? Something like that. If you haven't tried it, you might ask your vet about it. I'm pretty sure I've got the name wrong, but I think it does end in "...uel". Snickers was deathly afraid of the vacuum and if we even opened the closet where the devil monster lived, he was gone out his doggie door like a shot. But Scottie plays with the vacuum, though I'm not sure he'd like BEING vacuumed.

JANA - that school schedule is TERRIBLE!! For kids AND parents! I think I'd be looking for a way to home-school myself. Autumn has a friend who started a small private school. He is talking small pods with dividers of some sort. Then I went to my hair salon and saw that she had made a frame from PVC pipe that stands up and she drapes clear shower curtains from it to place between the chairs when more than one customer is in the shop. This would work so well to expand it between 2 or 4 desks. And just spray it down with an anti-viral cleaner every so often. Glad I'm squared away on Minnie.

IRISH - have a great time on your spontaneous getaway! And so nice to have a cat-spoiler in close proximity! Because we sure don't want her to miss a minute of petting or a single little kiss between her ears!

CAROL - sorry to hear you have to move on to a specialist. Praying all will be well, though. I never sew in the evening. Just handwork. I'm usually done for the day by 3:30 at the latest.

LORI - so we were both quilting yesterday. I hope to get at least two more quilted this weekend, too. Then I'll be down to 4! Yay! I have bindings already made for about half of them. I always liked Paula Deen- she was so friendly on her show. Like our Eleanor is on her show.

Tonite we're having orange chicken - if I can find the recipe again. It was in TOH magazine and I made it once, liked it, but can't remember if I cut the recipe out or not. And I have a stack of those magazines on my kitchen counter that I've been going through testing recipes. lol! I might add green beans or cooked carrots to the menu. We're out of salad makin's.

What's happening on your stove tonite?

Good morning!
Mary, yep I've seen that commercial and asked the vet, so far he wants to try other things and my dogs are miserable. I had their groomer cut as much hair if yesterday as she could, they look horrible but maybe it'll help the shampoo get to the shoes better. They actually look like they have the mange 💔 I'll probably be calling the vet this next week and asking him to please let me try the apoquel 🤞
I had cereal for supper last night so chicken is on the menu for tonight.
Paula Dean still has videos and cooks all the time, I live her videos.
Well I'm washing all my crystal so gotta scoot.

Good morning!

Paula Deen still has a cooking show. I see it once in awhile on RFD TV station. I have Dish Network, so I get the RFD station. In fact, I have that station on, watching a tractor auction show. See I told y'all it is exciting around here! LOL! I could have a old antique tractor, that would be fun, but no space to keep one. My barn is too small.

Mary - never quite heard it called laundering the dog - but like that phrase! Sarah told me that her chickens love the leftover wet - canned - cat food her kitties don't eat. The chickens gobble it down, is quick as it gets down!

Tina - hopefully you will get the itchies under control for your puppies.

We are on chicken duty this morning. Michael is heading up to Sarah's to make sure the chickens can get out into their run. The kitties are in the house with plenty of food and water for the day. Sarah will be back in the morning tomorrow.

Will sew, after we are back from the milk run. Dinner - I have some Korean beef in sauce, so that will go over some rice for dinner. Trying to use up my surprise containers in the freezer and then when I do more, I will behave and label!

Get well Becca - we miss you!

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Mary, yes we were both quilting away. I got the top finished. I had binding cut, so I just need to sew that one and one done. On to the next quilt. The three I'm doing are all gifts. So I want to get them done and ready to go.

Tina, your poor puppy dogs. Hope you can find something that works.

Well last night we had enchilada pie with Spanish rice. So tonight is leftovers or whatever you can find.

I'll be quilting another top.

Have a lovely day.

Lori 8-)
