SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Aug 18

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Aug 18, 2020 7:52 am

Good morning,

Yesterday was SUPPOSED to be only 82* according to the forecasters. But our thermometer said 91* on our deck about 4pm. Though it didn't feel too hot, so perhaps our therm was lying? I worked most of the day on quilting Spring. What a job that was! Anything that could go wrong, did. 2 or 3 times! But I finally got it done. Whew! Today I'll put binding on it and on the Christmas lotto quilt I did last week. The "queue" is now down to 9! Whoo Hoo! I hope to have them all quilted before we go south for the winter, leaving about Nov 10th. When things go well, I can easily do one a day. But a few of them need Bill's Q-bot and it takes him at least a week to do one quilt. He is S L O W. But the quilts he does are beautiful.

CAROL - oh no!! Good catch on the freezer! So happy your reset worked. We tried that on ours - several times. But it never worked. Sigh.

IRISH - who's getting married?? You are making a wedding quilt? Pattern? Colors? Size? we need the details! Hope the new diet works for you. We have a friend who was This Close to going on a liver transplant list when she researched and put herself on a Keto diet. Her liver completely healed itself in less than a year and she lost 50# and feels so much better. So our diet does play a big role in our health.

ROSEBUD - you are signing up for Medicare? I thought you were waay too young for that! Green chix enchiladas sounds delicious to me! I think I'm going to put them on my menu idea list for 'soon'.

JANA - yay for grown up Stu! It can be a waker-upper - for him and for all family! lol! Praying for Daniel and all the firefighters - but especially your Daniel.

Supper tonite will be leftover rice/turkey sausage/mushroom casserole. Or does it sound more appetizing if I say "hot dish", even though that's more Upper mid-country?

What's your idea for supper tonite?

Good morning from sunny, warm, SW. Pa...Another summery day and I'd love to bottle it all up and keep it until the middle of January or February.......I think our temps are to get warmer but right now, it's in the 80s with no rain in sight....Last night about 10:00 I remembered I hadn't watered the plants so bright and early, I was out giving them all a good drink....Watering along with picking up strewn garbage that a mysterious animal had gotten into....I've never had a problem and this is the 1st time I had a new can but did have an extra bag and I guess they decided to check it out.....I have yet to see our garbage truck/men...Not sure when they come during the night and never make a sound, (my bedroom is in the front of the house) garbage just disappears, lol......

Mary, I think this is one summer you'll remember, weather wise and virus wise....Hopefully, the new year will be a good one for everyone.....Our next wedding is Kevin's youngest son, Ryan and it's going to be 12-12-20 but the shower is going to be next month.....All the kids have gotten quilts, Irish Chain, when they marry and if they don't tell me their favorite color, guess what, they get green! This one will be a queen size and I found Celtic fabric that I had also used when I made Kathy's.....So, I have my work cut out for me along with making masks...Hate to be inside but this is a good reason......
My doctor knows I hate taking meds so we're trying to eliminate most except the one that keeps the heart beating, lol.....And, at this point, I'll do anything to get rid of the pain even to the point where I give up my chips, lol....But, we'll see! Wow, really good news about your friend......

Did my shopping yesterday so I'm set with the "right" food but now I have no idea what I'll be having for dinner....I'm so anxious to get started on the quilt but I'm going to get the masks out of the way 1st.....

If anyone is looking for me, I'll be the one covered with thread, hidden in my sewing room......

You all have a great rest of the day......

Happy eating.................

Good morning!

Beautiful day here, albeit a hot one. Michael is being the sidewalk superintendent/engineer - he is seeing what is going on at the end of the street. Out talking to the crew and their boss. Most of the road work is the other way, about a block up from this spot, so we are nosey and just had to see. They moved a whole bunch of heavy machinery down at our end of the street.

Not much else here - uglies are caught up. Only a couple of pieces of laundry, so that will wait until later in the week. So, I can be an old sew 'n sew in the Batt Cave.

Mary - our weather gauge gets flakey in the morning, when the sun is still low in the sky, reads, way hotter than it is. I am waiting on my thread to arrive and I am then going in and get my queue whittled down. I like the King Tut, it looks a bit more like hand quilting thread on the quilt than the So Fine.

Irish - trash blowing in our yard is a problem here too. At times, we would have to clean out our deep window well of all the blowing papers. A wedding quilt! Such fun! Sarah reminds me, I still owe her a wedding quilt from the first marriage, to Stu's father! LOL!

Dinner - new food tonight - probably broccoli, polka kielbasa and tortellini. Quick and easy.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana
