I woke up at 3am and couldn't go back to sleep but I didn't want to get up, so I sat up in bed and finished a book I was reading. If there's a lull in the action around here later today, maybe I'll sit for a bit and start a new book - which means my eyelids will probably fall down.

I received another request for more masks so I'll be doing that this morning and then getting them into the mail this afternoon. Then more crazy blocks. And maybe a couple sample blocks of that new pattern I mentioned yesterday that's caught my eye. Just to see if I like it. And I know I will . . . I rarely start a new project when I still have one in progress, but I kind of feel like the crazy quilt is an on-going thing, to work on between other projects, not a mad dash to finish. Right?
BECCA - I'm thankful Denise and Mark are OK after the storms. So sweet of them to keep checking on you! I hope your new PA is a good one. Bill's regular 'doctor' is a PA and he's excellent. Pinto beans and cornbread sounds good. Our friends in Texas have a hummingbird feeder and they sent a pictures last night of a woodpecker at the feeder. Looked like he was trying to 'blend in'.

ROSEBUD - nice that Charlie is there with you! Happy birthday to him on Thursday! It's also my sister's birthday. Is he your only offspring?
JANA - That tanker rollover was a pretty good Aaron story all by itself. The chicken adventure was better, but we take what we can get here! lol! I can't believe Sarah's FIL was sent home and now her MIL will probably get sick, too! What a situation! I also can't believe they would send you a book with 46 pages missing! Did they think you wouldn't notice?
LORI - sitting out on the patio with the computer, coffee, and your fur babies sounds idyllic from here! I have to say, you eat well when your DH is gone. I'd probably be eating PBJ's or poached eggs every night. lol! And yes, wasn't it nice of Jana to come up with such an enticing idea. Can't believe I'm the only one that fell for it! You should try a few blocks. They're fun! You'll like them!

CHICKIE!!! We've missed you! Are you done making bonnets and masks for now? Talk about busy!! You take the cake! Doyle, too. Building two sheds at once. What's next on your to-do list? Maybe take a nap?? lol!
CAROL - glad your eyes were deemed fine. And you have berries coming on. Maybe I should try planting some berries. Our problem is not enough sun. I used to have wonderful raspberries at my old house (35 years ago), but we sold it just as they were starting to ripen and I heard the first thing the new owners did was rip the berry bushes out.
TINA - you made it! About your fridge, you might even be able to find a used RV fridge in an old or wrecked RV, or a used residential one. Especially since it's the end of the college year - lots of kids have dorm fridges that they sell in May. Sorry about all the swamp coolers Frankie is fixing/installing. I'm glad that's one thing we don't have to deal with. Not much of an issue here as cooling is only really needed a few days a year. You mentioned that your dad's lonliness is getting to be a problem for him. I was wondering if your family has discussed what Dad will do when he is no longer able to live alone. Hope you are feeling better today.
Supper last night (penne with marinara sauce and meatballs) was a hit and there's lots left over so it's another heat'n'eat night for us. How about you?
