SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, April 19

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Apr 19, 2020 6:35 am

Good morning,

Well, I did some of the things I planned yesterday - 2 loads of laundry, baked hamburger buns, sewed, and read. It was a rainy day until about 1pm and then it was just wet out, so no yardwork. I got out my Mickey Mouse quilt kit and worked on that. If you Google Mickey Mouse Love Quilt, up comes several panels. Mine is vintage, he is hugging Minnie, and the word LOVE is floating above them. The quilt shop designed borders and corners and put it all together in a kit. It's a very poorly worded pattern and I struggled a bit to figure out what they were saying, but they were generous with the fabric - all good quality grunge fabrics, which I love. They even included backing but it's just muslin. I want to use MM fabric and looked on-line for it, but everything is "currently unavailable". That's OK. I have time - I hope. Their anniversary is the end of Sept.

Autumn & Aaron's anniversary is in October and I have a panel of Paris for them that I got at the same quilt shop. Again, they made up a design and kits. It's really simple, and the directions are only about 3 short sentences. Hopefully they will make sense and not confuse me. Easy to do. That will probably be today's project.

JANA - that's funny about Kate and the Governor. Foxy is the first cat I've ever had that doesn't sit on your lap - unless you are wearing a plush fleece robe or have a fleece blanket on your lap. Then you can't keep him off! But he's affectionate, snuggles close, and likes to be held as long as you don't set him on your lap. Many nights he curls up in my arms to sleep. Goofy cat! I guess Michael's surgery has been on hold for so long, I've forgotten what it is. Sorry. Dental?

BECCA - I'll be interested in hearing what you think of the meatloaf recipe. I hope the wedding happens. It must not be too big an event to be able to just cancel and reschedule like that. And the Parkway would be a glorious setting for a wedding!

TINA - Looks like Frankie might have to just make do or go without in regards to A. J. wheat pancakes. $25 is outrageous! Here, we've been asked to report any gouging prices we see on line or in person. And I think that qualifies. Sorry about the wind. I'd rather have rain than wind. What are you fencing?

LORI - I wish your hubby and son a safe trip. Many rest areas are closed. Even back in mid-March our friends had a hard time finding open rest areas in CA on their way home from AZ. They used Grocery store bathrooms.

For supper tonite - looks like we're having a one dish meal with grilled & sliced kielbasa and peas in rice.

What's going in your dish tonite?

Mary, that will be a cute quilt. I hate when instructions are bad. I guess not everyone can be a great pattern writer.

Becca, I always find TP at Target. I guess because it's a bigger store.

DH and son left this morning at 0630. They will be driving straight though. Probably stop to sleep in the car a few hours. The boys have been walked and are sleeping. I've had breakfast and have the laundry going.
Need to clean up the kitchen and vacuum. Then I will sew. I think I'll start quilting the Tea Party quilt.
I have no idea how, but I want to get it finished. I ordered 20 yards of batting that should arrive this week.
I have several tops ready to be layered. So that should keep me busy for a while.

For dinner I'll make it simple. Tortellini and broccoli.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon from a partly sunny, getting warmer, SW. Pa....You can tell it's a little warmer, we have neighbors walking around the block...And most of them are keeping their distance and also wearing masks.....Our governor "kind of" enacted a law, stay inside unless you're wearing a mask and we now have stores that have the sign on the door, "no mask, can't come in".....And sorry, I don't agree with the states that have "opened their doors" but I won't get started on that, lol....

Mary, Love to hear about the quilts you are making...What treasures they will be....I try to be creative and then usually end up making an my Irish quilt...........My brain can only take so much creativity......Had to laugh about Foxy and the fleece...Baby Girl is somewhat like that with my PJs....Early in the morning to keep her from trying to wake me, I pull the covers up and she can't get to my pjs and then she'll go back to sleep...But, she sure doesn't need the fleece when I'm sitting in the bathroom, gee whiz....

Just had a break....Kevin stopped over and picked up 10 masks and brought me some bulldog fabric so I guess I'll be making more.....My niece just sent me a text and she'll be stopping over for her's.....Not sure if anyone has seen how some are advertising on Face Book and how much they are charging....I usually get myself in trouble but I had to respond...I can see if you are maybe taking donations but to set a price knowing this is a need to me, it's unforgivable.....Oh well, off my soap box......

And another thing, am I the only one or do any of you usually have a pin in their mouth while they're sewing???? Was wondering why the fellow who cuts my grass had a strange look on his face when I opened the front door.....Just seems, I sew better if I have that pin, lol....

Better get moving...I'm waiting for Aldi to make a delivery...I've never done this and am hoping it's OK....As far as my dinner, we'll see what Aldi brings, lol....

You all have a great day......

Happy eating......................

Good morning!

It is a beautiful day here, a wonder noisy, flashing thunderstorm is booming outside right now. First one of the year. You see, we have to be warm for a thunderstorm! I like warm!

Gracie has had enough of being stuck, not able to go outside to play. Right outside their backdoor is the big community playset, which is closed. She was in tears and begged to go for a ride, to see trains or the mountains. So as soon as Aaron is off duty today, they will do that. Ethan has had it too. He misses his friends.

Dinner - changed up last night and did a new recipe - it was good. So simple too. It was like chicken and dumplings, but called chicken and pastry. The pastry was like fat noodles, slightly fluffy too. It was good. Now know the few changes to the recipe, have leftovers tonight.

Time to scoot off,

Hugs,
Jana
