SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 6

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Mar 06, 2020 4:48 am

Good morning!

It's a rainy day out there. At least we're almost all packed and don't have to schlep stuff in the rain - though it's only about 4 steps from the garage to the RV shelter. We can almost dodge the raindrops in that short trek! Today is chiropractor, one load of laundry, change bed sheets, and hopefully finish this orphan top. Big news! While rooting around in my scraps I found a large Ziplock filled with triangles cut for a summer porch years ago. And all the 1-1/2" white strips to go with. So I will toss those into the trailer, too. There's enough of those for a quilt all by themselves! I can't believe just 8 weeks ago I had nothing in the works and no real plans. Now I wonder if I'll ever see a clear table top in my sewing room again! lol! And I've added several projects to my to-do list for this year, too.

BECCA - glad Hadlee's report was pretty good. Is she on oxygen all the time or just lately? How is her brother doing? I would like the cranberry walnut, too. And I think toasted with butter like Lori said would be delicious! I would like to try the rosemary sourdough, too. Bill doesn't like much rosemary so I rarely cook with it, but I like it when used with a light hand.

CHICKIE - that capricious Ava! Leading you 'astray'! lol! You are coming along on your FF. I love Elizabeth Hartman's patterns. It's fun to watch the animals emerge. Oh, I do hope you get to go to Daniel's graduation! You will never forget it.

LORI - no, empty bowls aren't acceptable!! Foxy has his main dish always full of dry food. Then he has a snack dish downstairs in the family room, that has more dry food in it. He gets a spoon of canned food every morning and evening. PLUS, he gets a few Temptation treats for lunch. And he STILL meows for more! lol! Sounds like you've done Hartman patterns before. Which ones?

JANA - Are you all moved into your cabinet yet? It's sure pretty! How big of a piece of sky do you need? And what kind of sky are you looking for? light blue with clouds? Night sky with stars? Rain? Sunset? I have a little of them all and I share. ;)

Tonite's supper will probably be leftover tacos. Unless someone named BZ gets into them for his lunch. It happens. Hope your supper stays intact until suppertime! ;)

Good morning!

Absolutely beautiful day here! Warm too!

Mary - the blue I need is at the store. I just need to go over and get some. My co-hort in crime has much homework to get drawn, so I will plot out my time. Sarah is down to only a couple of weeks left in her semester. Then trouble can get to a full time occupation!

Not much here. Michael brought home a corned beef from Costco the other day, so that will be dinner. Love this time of year, when the stores put corned beef on sale. Need to add a few to the freezer.

A little bit of hand embroidery - some legs and antennae on ants, then quilt that Skinnie. I have another Spring Skinnie traced, ready to fuse and sew. I want to run over to my favorite LQS for a couple of fat quarter bundles. I want a range of colors, but not a lot of pinks. Maybe find that blue as well.

Well, should call and see if Termite is coming over. He has no school. His Dad works from home on Fridays - not a good combination, so I expect to see him sometime today.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning! We are sunny but cooler than yesterday. I cut my thistle blocks, and they are ready to sew. The Hooligans and I went on a road trip yesterday afternoon. I had coffee with my sister to get me revved up to go to the grocery store. By the time I arrived back home and put things away, I didn’t get back to sew. DH is in town today to supervise a new roof getting put on one of the rentals. I plan to be sewing!

Mary—what a fun find! I love the summer porch quilt! I made one for MIL ages ago. I’m really having fun with the Fancy Forest! Love the baby quilt size!

Jana—your Skinnie sounds cute with the ants… must be a summer picnic! Have fun at the LQS!!! Sarah’s school is going quickly—at least it seems so from here. It might not for her.

Becca—I had no idea that your DGD was selling her breads in stores as well as her bakery! Sounds like she has quite a nice business!

I must get busy! Dinner tonight was to be the fish fry, but we are changing it. So… cooking for me. Maybe it will be that good Lenten food from my freezer!

Bon appétit!

Hi everyone!
I made it here 2 days ago to see Jana's beautiful cabinet, never made out back to say how beautiful it is!
I've been sewing every spare minute to get my Spring swap blocks finished up. 1 more tiny color for bees bodies then I have 1 flower pedal color to do then the hive and I'll be finished. I think they're really turning out cute, I hope all will like them.
I went through a dozen eggs this morning making 5 breakfast burritos and then Preston wanted his usual 2 fried eggs. He eats 2 eggs, 2 sausage links and a glass of milk every morning LOL he only likes my chicken eggs, he said the white ones at the store are yuck! 🤣😂
I also cleaned my kitchen, put a roast with all the fixings in the crock pot and then cleaned the front yard before going into my sewing room for over an hour, Preston is my thread clippings throw away guy.
So supper tonight is the roast and I'm going to make some oatmeal cookies for afters.

Well my co-hort in crime got her homework done and sent in, so we went over to my favorite LQS. We found just the right fat quarter bundle and the sky blue piece and a couple of other needed "squirrel" fabrics. Ethan went too and showed the girls at the store, pictures of his quilt. They were very impressed that a 8 y/o sewed it. Showed them Tanner's too. So all in all a good trip. Even stopped at a favorite ice cream shop, Leatherby's and got him a ice cream cone.

Joy of joys - Smudge is home - safe and sound and not injured. He just showed up on Sarah's front porch a few minutes ago, hungry. What a surprise. We have no idea where he has been since Tuesday night, but he is home! A little boy's prayers were heard and answered.
