SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Feb 9
Good morning,
We were at friends last night for grilled chicken, rice, salad and games so I got to bed later than usual. then Scottie started whimpering about 2am. Finally Bill got up to take him out, but he just wouldn't settle down after that. Something out there had him spooked. If Scottie doesn't settle down, no one settles down. Except Bill, that is. Bill could ignore a helicopter landing on the bed! Anyway, I finally got up at 0400. Yawn...
Yesterday I spent about 4-5 hours cutting out just one block of my village quilt. It's actually called Main Street and each block is another shop on - Main Street! It's slow going, but it kind of puts me in a zen place. Soothing. And another good opportunity to use up more scraps. For now I'm just cutting, sort of kitting it up for later sewing. I also plan to do a few uglies around here. Very few. Remember the fox applique wall-hanging I posted a picture of in the sew-in about 5 days ago? I bought the pattern 3 years ago, and now have all the fabrics chosen and ready to go into the trailer for a camping project. Well, while watching the news a few nights ago they were interviewing one of our state officials in her office and there was MY fox - on HER wall! I made Bill rewind twice so I could check it out!
JANA - I was wondering as I typed it yesterday if you can still get Spic & Span. Now I'll have to look next time I'm at the grocery store. But I have seen Glass Wax someplace in the last few years. It was fun at Christmas with the stencils. And did you have Trend dishwashing soap in the metal can? On the windowsill above the sink? lol! strange things to remember. You actually punched a hole in the wall in your house to surprise your hubby when he got home from work?? lol! If I did that, my luck, it would be a load-bearing wall and down the house would come!
BECCA - happy thoughts of your Dad today - or yesterday. Congrats to your DGD on her bakery! I know people are always lamenting that there are so few real bakeries anymore. Glad Denise made it home OK and her house is intact. Scary storms! I'll take unending rainy days anytime over storms like that!
IRISH - I'm hearing all kinds of happy in your 'voice'! By now Kathy is there and the two of you are probably already into some kind of trouble! Don't forget - we still have the bail fund so don't hold back on the fun! lol!
BECKY - I'm laughing at your' Gramma" there buying new furniture. I'm always thinking by this time of life most people are dumping stuff, not buying more. Then I remembered OUR new furniture should be here in about 6-8 weeks! lol!
I think tonite we are having chicken patties on a bun. And salad. And maybe some fried potatoes with onion and green pepper. Now I'm hungry!
What thoughts are making YOU hungry for supper tonite?

Hello everyone sunny here so some snow will melt
Our DS1 called yesterday We knew he had flooding in his back yard He has a pond & creek below his house They had8 in’s of rain He will have to have grading & dredging done to repair damage
Maryz These storms are most unusual Our weather isn’t like it used to be Think it’s changed every where
Glad you enjoyed your nite but sorry Scottie was upset
We just bought new recliners in September
I’m making black beans over rice
It will be a restful day here May get to walk if it melts enough I don’t do ice
Hope everyone has a wonderful day
Becca

Good morning!
Mary - never had Trend dishwashing soap, my mom was a Joy person, as well as Tide laundry soap. Always used Prell shampoo, stripped the oil and everything else from your hair! In fact, if you dyed your hair the wrong color, Prell could fix that! Later, I convinced her to switch to Breck - I always wanted hair like the Breck girls. Still don't have that - LOL
Becca - our snow has disappeared for now, but we are cold. Hope everything works out.
Dinner - what I thought of, Sarah did yesterday, so will fix country fried chicken, rice and gravy. I have some mashed potatoes, Ethan's favorite.
Not much else here. Last night with the temp around 20, we went and got a treat, a ice cream cone, from a really good ice cream shop. Toasted Almond
Better pay attention, Michael gave me the look, LOL!
Enjoy,
Jana

Jana, my mom used to Joy. It gives me a rash. When I was a kid and had to do the dishes, my wrists would get itchy from the soap. I would tell my mom, and she would say I was just trying to get out of doing the dishes. I survived, buy I do not like Joy. It doesn't make my happy.
Maryz, there must have been some critter out there. We had coyotes the other night roaming out neighborhood. Jack was barking and wouldn't settle for a long time.
Becca, enjoy your sunshine.
Well I'm thinking homemade pizza with a salad for dinner. I have everything, so it will be easy.
Have a lovely day.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Feb 9
Hi everyone!
We did use Joy, and it itched my arms but I never knew it was that LOL just figured it was because I was up to my elbows in soapy water. Mom always bought Tide which I still use. Our shampoo and conditioner was the cheapest, 99 cents each for a gallon LOL oh and mom always bought Dove, that I can't use because it really breaks me out.
I went to my quilt BOM class yesterday, had lunch with all the kids and grands, went to a quilt show (it wasn't as good as in years past) then came home and Holly and Preston came over because the other Grandma would only take Jazmyne and Easton to a performance thing. Preston felt left out so Holly came over with him and made us all homemade pizza. When they left I couldn't even make it 30 minutes before I was getting ready for bed. I was sound asleep by 10 and slept straight through to 6:15 this morning! Got up, cleaned the little bit of cups and 2 cookie sheets from last night, made the bed, got ready and took Dad to church a little over an hour away, we didn't get home till 2:30. Rested with my feet up till 4 then went to Walmart with Dad's list and the 5 things we needed.... took him his groceries and leftover pizza for supper, put his groceries away, came home and put my few items away, heated up leftover pizza, had salad and then gave up for the evening and felt like I deflated LOL I'm tired.
