SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Dec 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Dec 28, 2019 5:51 am

Good morning

Well, the RV shelter is finished! Bill is beside himself with happy! The trailer isn't in it though. After our epic rainstorm last week the back yard is muck. If we put the fifth-wheel into the shelter, we'll never get it out again until the ground dries out and we are going camping for 4 nights, Jan 15-19. So for now, trailer stays in front of the house and the truck is in the shelter. I'm sure Vicki was watching though she didn't show up outside. However, I did note her rapping sharply on her kitchen window yesterday just before the crew left. And then they left so it reinforced to her that her window-banging worked! I think Bill is going to bring in a dumptruck load of gravel soon because of the mud and that will probably REALLY stress her out.

I got my Scrappy Stars all together and two narrow inner borders on them. Then I worked on the piano key borders. Have two sides done, sewn on, and mitered. I should have mitered the inner borders but forgot. Oh well. This is really one bright and scrappy quilt. When it's done, I'll share a photo.

I was thinking of starting to take Christmas down but decided I want to enjoy it until after New Year's. We probably will be in Texas next Christmas so it will be 2 years before I get to see all my pretties again. So I'm making the most of them this year. We have no plans for the weekend other than watching the Seahawks hopefully win Sunday night. Going to sew, read, relax.

IRISH - we can't take our eyes off you for a moment! Look what you did! You didn't say the word but it sounds like pneumonia? Wasn't CHF, was it? I'm so glad Tim & Kathy were there to handle Christmas for you and family. Your plan - recliner, book, and cat - sounds like a good one to me! Sounds like you are better, but I'm betting you aren't 100% yet and we want no replapses. And I was wondering how the FL eagle family was doing. So it looks like an only child?

CHICKIE - wow! That was fast about the phone delivery! Did they find you OK? I know our GPS doesn't recognize your part of the country at all! lol! I think Doyal's trunk mission for family is fabulous! Lucky family to have so many handmade things from the two of you! I had to laugh at you "repurposing" your meatballs! lol!

JANA - glad to hear Matt and fam made it to DL OK. Hope the weather is good for them while they are there. And glad to hear you found that wandering 1/4" foot! Mine lives on my machine, though I know you've been doing a lot of non-quilting sewing this past month. And more congrats on your "new" jacket! You deserve more than one day's hoopla for that accomplishment!

BECCA - how did yesterday at your house go? And how is CA today? And you??

TINA - what's the story at your house? Last chapter had Holly really sick and you watching the kids and preparing for a big Christmas at your house. How is Holly now?

We will be having ham leftovers tonite and scalloped potatoes. I Need to check out our veggie supply. I've lost track of what we have and don't have. I want to dice up whatever ham is left after tonite and freeze it for ham & white bean soup for New Year's Day. So we'll be eating new food tomorrow!

How is your supper story going to read?

Good morning!

Mary - many thank you-s. That jacket is out in plain sight - walk by it many times and smile each time. Can't wait to wear it outside. It is too lightweight for these temps! It is also red, white and blue - very patriotic, lots of stars too. As to the choice of fabrics, I am leaning waaaay toward red and golds! My stash of blue and lime green is extremely limited! :D :D

Not much happening around here. It will be quiet with Matt and family gone. Also with no school, Ethan isn't here as much. Wednesday, the first, is Ethan's 8th birthday. He is excited. All the New Year's hoopla is because of his birthday. He will celebrate then and have a second party when Matt is home. Emma's birthday is the 13th, so since they are best buds, we do it together. Emma turns 7.

Dinner - last night I had one piece of roast leftover, some rice, so turned that all into fried rice and added pot stickers on the side. For some reason, with small amounts of ingredients, my fried rice morphs into a huge pan full, so we have that for tonight.

No partying here for New Year's. Maybe a few snicky snacks to munch on for just us.

Still waiting for the test results to come back.

Enjoy,
Jana

Maryz, Enjoy your christmas decorations. I haven't seen mine in years. I put out Christmas quilts and towels for the kitchen. I'm basically just lazy. Nobody comes to our house, so I don't bother.
Ham and scalloped potatoes sounds good.

Jana, that's great you have a new old jacket. I bet Ethan is excited, and Emma too.

Chickie, glad you got your phone already. That was fast.

Well today is a sew day. I'll have to find something easy for dinner. Maybe soup.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon! We are now gloomy and drippy! It’s not cold, just cool and wet. Not my favorite weather at all!

Went to town this morning with Odie and Boomer as co-pilots. I met my friend for coffee, and then went to the phone store. My phone came about 6:00 last evening too late to go to town. But, now I’m back in business! Because my old phone was totally dead, my contacts and calendar couldn’t be transferred. I’ve been trying to recreate my contacts and have done pretty well, but I sure don’t have all of them. And… my calendar is totally empty! That’s not a good thing, as I had all of DH’s medical appointments on it. So, I’m working on that.

Irish—I missed that you were sick! Do take care!!!

Jana—I have the same problem with a lot of things morphing into masses.

Lori—I do very little decorating here. There isn’t room for it, and definitely not with our crowd.

Dinner here—more of the repurposed meatballs which morphed into a potful and were/are delicious.

Bon appétit!

Quilting here this afternoon. Dinner tonight will be Stuffed Pepper Casserole.

Good job fitting into the jacket Jana! Always nice to find something you really like fits you.

Hi everyone!
Sorry I've been MIA, been really busy. We had 17 for Christmas and this year I didn't have any help before and almost none until Kevin and Maria got here at 11. Frankie helped with the celery LOL he's not too good at cooking so he's limited on what he helps with. We were supposed to eat at 2 but because it was just mostly me we didn't eat till 4:40 oops. But there was plenty of snacks. We didn't have very many leftovers, just for lunch pretty much the next day.
Mary, congrats on the RV shelter! Have you thought about a cement slab under it for your 5er?
Jana, congratulations to you too on your jacket and weight loss!!! Happy dancing for you ❤
Lori, I decorate for me, the kids and grands are just lucky to see it all LOL I'm just a kid at heart.
Becca, so glad all your get together was so good and fun.
Irish, get better soon and don't over due it. Recliner, book and kitty sound perfect!
Chickie, glad your family get together was great too! Love the trunks ❤
Holly was feeling way better on Christmas day thankfully and she's doing good now.
I've had Jazmyne and Easton staying the night, we're down to just Jazmyne tonight but I told her she needs to go home tomorrow and do some things at her house too.
We had our coldest Fall that either of us could remember and Winter is way early for us too! This whole week we'll be in the 40's for our highs. We had hail and snow today. I ventured out once and it was way too cold for me! My feet and ankles about froze, I can only wear flip flops so you can imagine!
We put a few Christmas things away but only a few, it seems like I just put them out so I want to enjoy them for another week.
We had grilled cheese and leftover soup tonight.
Tina
