Today is Christmas Eve! Ever since I was little, it's been the most magical day/night of the year for me! I love it! It's a lot quieter now with all the kids gone and doing their own things, and I miss the hubbub but I still manage to make the magic happen for us. We're going to supper tonite at friends', Tex & Annette. They said we're having chicken alfredo. Made us laugh because after some discussion, that is what Bill & I decided to have for our own Christmas dinner. What are the odds of that?? So when Bill was out yesterday he picked up a little Black Forest ham for our Christmas. Also, today, I want to make cemetery visits. I take silk flowers, usually poinsettias to my parents, grandparents, Mike, and Roy. Any remaining hours will be filled with - you guessed it! - sewing! And maybe one load of laundry.
TINA - oh dear! You know, when we make plans, God laughs, don't you? I hope Holly is feeling better soon. Did she get a flu shot? Every week the news reports that the flu is hitting especially early and especially hard this year. And they say even if you still get the flu, it will be a much milder case. Sorry the other so-called 'adult' in her house is the one that's in her house. Not sure why she lets him stay, but we all make our own beds in life. She's so lucky to have you and Frankie to pick up the slack for them. And you know what - Christmas will happen even if there aren't any cookies, cakes, or pies. Ham, you need. Christmas calls for ham.

MARY ROSE - did you get all your sewing done? I bet Emily is as big a help as our Foxy. Fox is about 16 pounds and calls the shots here, and when he decides to lay on some fabric and just sit and blink he eyes at me, daring me to move him, it pretty much shuts down the project until he decides to move on.
BECCA - Hope that truck still isn't in your yard! Set another place for dinner! lol! I think I read that you are having 14 at your house. That's quite a crowd! Tonite or tomorrow? Will the twins be there? It's going to be a happy time!
JANA - Did you get all that wrapping done? It always gets done, even if it's major crunch time. And as for baking, never forget frosting! It can cover a multitude of problems. We watch the Great British (or now American) Baking Show and they frost their mistakes out of sight! lol! And Yes, I think everyone was surprised at that Seahawk loss to AZ last Sunday. But we had 3 major players out with major injuries - cracked hip, fractured arm, torn ACL, - and after Sunday we had 3 more players out! We just heard last night that the Hawks have coaxed Marshawn Lynch out of retirement so he will be back on our offensive field next Sunday night, so we'll see what happens! It's going to be a wild game! You are having your big prime rib dinner tonite with all your family, right? SO MUCH FUN!
I think CHICKIE is having all of Doyal's family for dinner tomorrow and it's going to be some different kinds of pasta, I believe. And we know IRISH is having fun with Tim & Kathy, and the babies!
So tonite will be supper at Tex & Annette's. Just the four of us. Chicken alfredo. And we might play a game. Almost everyone I know, incuding our two grandsons, have been spending holiday evenings playing board games. So nice to hear people are putting down their electronics and gathering around the table together.
What are YOU doing tonite?
