SUPPER CLUB - Thursday,Sept 26
Good morning!
We've had a blustery night here and they say temps are dropping but we're almost 60* outside and no rain. Yet. But predicting the first snow in the Cascade mountains down to the 4,000' level which would be in the major passes. And here we are, starting to get ready for camping! We better toss in our heavy Filson black/red plaid wool coats!
Yesterday we picked up Ernie's pick-up from the repair shop. Ernie never smoked. But guess who did! That Woman! That truck is so smokey I wouldn't put Scottie in it after just getting him groomed. He would need another bath! It's awful! My massage therapist said he wanted to buy it, but with being so smokey, it could kill the deal. I know I wouldn't buy it!
Bill mowed yesterday with tractor and brush hog - for 2 hours. And Vicki never showed up to yell, whack, spit, or spray. Maybe we scared her last time. But it was nice to be peaceful for a change.
I finished my Elf gift and got the binding sewn onto my queen quilt. I LOVE machine binding! It only took me 45 minutes, start to finish, to sew binding to both sides. I already have a cross stitched label ready to go. I will put binding on it, too, like a tiny quilt, and then sew it to the back. I'll do that this morning and then, once again, clean up my mess.
BECCA - I do hope you're feeling better today. I had to re-read your post to see all that you had done even though you were feeling so bad that you considered going to an ER. Slow down, my friend! We need you in top form! A fund-raiser for Levi and Taylor sounds like a terrific idea? Do you know what kind of auction they are having? Do you plan to sew/knit anything for the auction or are you sticking with baked goods? You could give gift certificates good for fresh-baked (insert item here) for holiday meals . . . You could make a tote bag and fill it with items for an Italian dinner (noodles, sauce, wine, candle, 2 themed placemats, etc).
TINA - a 6:30 am appointment means you are probably in the car right now! And you know we'll all be here waiting to hear what they say. And I sure hope you give your doctor an earful about his office staff. Unacceptable just isn't a strong enough word. Let the tears flow! They will help make your point. And then, please consider filing a complaint with the state. They do have people who oversee this kind of thing but they can't step in if they don't know.
JANA - Oh I hope you're improving, too. So many of our 'supper-ites' are sick! We've been by the Young Living lavender farm several times. At the right time of year it can smell heavenly! In fact, our friends, Tex & Annette, and another friend here, Sherri, are all asssociated with them. I have several of their essential oils and I love their Thieves liquid hand soap but I have to admit, it's so expensive that I only bring it out when we have special company! Praying you will be well enough to go to the draft horse show!
ROSEBUD - I've had to go through homes of loved ones before. But not for 30 years. I forgot how much bending, stretching, climbing, and energy it takes! Not to mention the dust, bugs, and junk drawers! But now I'm inspired to go through my own cabinets! I do it about every 18 months, washing them, relining if necessary, purging. I feel the need to do it again now. lol! I'm glad the tests you had showed nothing serious, but truly, you are having pain, tests showed no source for the pain, so they say come back in a year?? No more investigation??
Last night we put chicken breasts and potato/onion packets on the grill. I have leftover chicken for tonite. I might make a small pot of soup or maybe some chicken tacos. . . I imagine Bill will want to weigh in later. But he doesn't usually "work the early shift" so I don't make firm plans until he's "on duty".
What's your favorite dish to make with leftover chicken?

Good morning!
Mary, I'm glad Vicki didn't cause any problems, it sounds like you and Bill live in a state of anxiety concerning Vicki episodes, that's gotta be stressful.
All my test showed good that there's no problems, I gotta go to a neurologist in Cruces for him to check me and make sure I'm not trying to have a stroke. In the meantime he's having me take a baby aspirin a day for just in case.
I think Dad will be coming for supper tonight, I'll have to ask him....not sure if he's allowed to drive yet. I'm not sure what I want for supper yet though. I'll have to think on that.
Leftover chicken....my favorite thing is plain chicken sandwich ❤

Good morning!
Yes! I am back in the land of the living! LOL! Feeling so much better. Still a slight cough. Looking forward to tomorrow. We aren't staying the whole day, just the horse competition. There is a jousting tournament, a PCRA rodeo and all kinds of other horse events, going on the whole weekend. Sarah wants me to get her some lavendar oil to make soap with. I stay away from all those oils, as the smell trigger an allegric reaction. Fresh flowers, no problem, scented candles drive me nuts.
No idea on dinner - depends on how much energy I have.
Mary - call a local new car dealer and ask how to remove smoke smell from the vehicle. They do it to be able to resell the cars. There may be a auto detailer that can do it for you as well.
Tina - Michael does the baby aspirin, he uses the Ecotrin coated 81 mgs. Hope the neurologist appointment is soon!
Becca - take it easy! We need you!
Well, Michael just brought me the laundry to put away. It has been waiting in the laundry room, washed, dried, and folded. He is looking for a pair of socks, of his, missing. He has been having problems with the cuff on socks being tight and causing swelling on his leg. So we bought him some short ankle high socks which has stopped the problem. He has six pair, only 5 in the drawer, so he went on a hunt. Only a engineer! They can be trying and weird too! But I gotta love him!
Enjoy!

Jana, glad you're on the mend!
The Dr's office already called, I'm scheduled for November 21st, I wrote it on the calender so I won't forget. I guess something did some good about me complaining, they really got in the ball and scheduled an appointment and called me!

Supper tonight...tacos.
Jana so glad you are feeling better. Enjoy your day with the horses tomorrow. I found my EQ7 software and just reloaded it. I never figured out why it disappeared. but the reload worked.
Tina good news that they finally did their job at the Dr.'s office, but sorry you have to wait nearly two months to get in for the appointment. That seems like a long time being that they think it may be a precursor to a stroke. I'll check in with you from the phone here in a little while.
Mary Glad there were no "Vicki" incidents while Bill was working on the yard.
Becca, what a Blessed day God has given us. I praise Him for your faith in Him, and Him carrying you through this trial of physical pain and the pain and stress of daily waiting on the next steps of healing for the twins. My love and prayers be with you.

I guess I am feeling better -washed 3 big windows, my slding glass door and the sheets from my bedroom as, well as the guest bedroom. The dishes are done too. Now the first grandchild or child that mucks up my windows will be disowned! Yeah, right, Grandma growls, no bite. LOL!
