SUPPER CLUB - tuesday, Aug 13

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Aug 13, 2019 7:17 am

Good morning!

Gotta be fast here. Scottie and I have our standing 7:30 date with Lori & Duchess from across the road for our walk. We will probably pick blackberries this morning. They should be ripe. Then it will be laundry for me so Bill can pull the washer and dryer. Then a bath for Scottie so Bill can pull the laundry tub. Busy times here today!

My AK SIL is failing rapidly. My DB made it home last night so he is with her now. And a friend who works at the hospital and has authority found a more permanent bed for her in a medical rehab wing. Otherwise they were going to have to send her to Anchorage or down to Washington. Can't believe Alaska doesn't have a single certified memory care facililty in the entire state.

Most of yesterday was spent in Seattle with Bill's uncle. 3 visits, lunch, nurse conference, and then touring the rehab facility. All with Bill's cousin who turned every conversation with medical staff into a conversation about HIS experiences with surgeries, what HIS insurance would cover, what HIS dad was going through. It added at least an extra hour to our day and put us smack into rush hour traffic. Between you and me I wanted to slug him! Staff was all patient and polite with him but you could see they weren't too happy about their time being wasted either. But the good news is that, after 12 days, Uncle ernie finally woke up! Is somewhat alert and oriented, and PT even got him to stand up - twice. Progress! Rehab later this week for a few weeks and then??? Cousin insists he's going to make Ernie go to assisted or senior living. I can't see Ernie agreeing to leave his home of 60+ years. Going to get interesting.

Today is laundry for me. Maybe some woodstacking and maybe some sewing. Supper will probably be something chickeny or pasta. Spaghetti? Penne? We'll see. got to run! Yum to all!

Good morning!
Mary, I'll say, busy times for sure for you! You wore me out already! LOL. I bet Scotty would forego his bath to save you some work 😉
Becca, sending prayers and good thoughts for the babies.
I'm gonna attempt a couple small loads of laundry today, trying to do smaller things till I feel better. Last week we had a couple days of upper 80's temps but we're bank to 100 again, supposed to get in the mid 90's this weekend.
Today is the official 1st day of the regular school year so it's just me and Preston today. We have leftover soup for lunch so my day should be an ok day. I'm gonna have Frankie cook us a burger on the grill tonight and I have fresh zucchini so that'll be a simple supper too.
They're harvesting the last field of onions across the street, it smells so good! Chili will be next, some places already have but in our opinion the chili is better when it's harvested at Labor Day.

Good morning!

Not much going on here. Staightened the Batt Cave and finished up two wallhangings ready to quilt, worked on the pieces for November's, helped Ethan and my friend. Busy for once and loved it! My friend finished quilting her quilt. She was so excited and happy to get it done. I think she will do another quilt. We may have a group meeting in the Batt Cave to quilt. Two of my other friends from Sarah's Ward are working on quilts and want to come play in the Batt Cave as well. That will be do nice, as I had hoped and planned the Batt Cave to do just that.

Well, this is short, Michael wants to go to Costco, now! LOL! We will see about dinner!

Prayers and Enjoy your day!

Jana

We had fun at the game last night. It is always better to see a game in person than watch on TV. I think we will go again. I just came in from raking leaves and cleaning walkways outside. I really do need to weed, but that will wait. I am going to go sew and do some quilting as well.

Tonight's dinner will be Chicken a' la King with biscuits.
