SUPPER CLUB - Wed, July 17th
Good morning!
We are to be cool and off/on rainy today. I can dig it because in 3 days we're going into a long stretch of warm & sunny days. I want to stock up on my rain!
Yesterday I did everything on my to-do list, had a spare hour and played with scraps in my sewing room. But to be honest, I made sure my list wasn't a very long list! lol! Today's list is even shorter. Chiropractor and a couple quick errands. I might fix backings for the two quilt tops I assembled from already-made blocks.
UPDATE on Chickie - she is getting her mom-sitting gig cut short. Her sister is coming home early as their vacation plans were changed a bit. So she should be back home again today or tomorrow. She has had Odie with her at Mom's but I know Doyle and the other Hooligans will be ecstatic to have Mom home again!
JANA - glad to hear you didn't have a new baby while I was gone! I almost have all your family's names in my head now. It's like naming the Seven Dwarfs - Stuart, Andrew, Logan, Ethan, Karlie, Emma, and Lila. How did I do? But Scott threw me! lol! My mom's first name was Marie. One of my favorite names! Glad the bench will work out. I was expecting it to arrive assembled, too, if that makes you feel any better.
TINA - sorry about Frankie's auntie. I hope he's OK at hearing the news. Was she local? Why do you have Jaz if school has started? And yes, fish in potato salad goes against ALL rules of cooking! But in her defense, my ceramics teacher grew up in East Germany during the War, was starving, had to eat the neighbor's cat to survive, and escaped by climbing over the wall one night. She probably learned to cook whatever was cookable. (I hope she didn't put the cat in potato salad!)
IRISH - you have had a rollicking busy time this month in your family! A lot of name repeats, too. At least, when you are calling for someone, and keep calling that person by other people's names (in our family, even the dog's name!) there are fewer names to go through! In our family, 4 of the 6 of us go by names other than our first name. Gets confusing for new folks when they join our family. And as for traipsing around, I say traipse while the traipsing is good! Go!! Smell the flowers! Have fun with your sis, friends, and Kathy. It will give you something to talk about with Jim.
BECCA - I love that you have a bird nesting in your hanging plant. Last year we had a bird's nest in our FAKE hanging plant on our deck! lol! We never had to disturb her with watering. We also had one in the silk wreath on our front door a few years ago.
Our chicken soup last night was great. Bill loved it. As things go with soup, there is a pot of leftovers so we'll be working on that for a few days.
How are things looking for your dinner plans?

Good late morning from warm, humid, overcast, waiting for the rain to start, SW. Pa....How's that for a complete forecast???
Mary, All the traipsing has been fun but sure wears out this old body, lol...And it's good the kids do give me a break in between the running...And, you're right about all the things I have to tell Jim, which, every night, before I go upstairs to bed, we have our little chat...Even Baby Girl knows the routine and will sit and wait for us to talk....Oh boy, has she gotten lovey, she should be named Shadow...
Good home made chicken soup has to be a favorite....
I'm going to be off and running again today...I need to get to the cemetery and do some major trimming, then return a couple things at Kohl's, stop at Aldi's and then of course see if the bank is giving anything away....Hoping to get back home before the rain....
Not sure what else I'm going to get into, later...And as far as dinner, haven't a clue.....
Will be looking forward to seeing the new changes but hope it's not too much for this old brain to figure out.....
You all have a great day......
Happy eating.................

Good morning!
Mary - you did very well on all my names, just missed three, Tanner, Baden and Gracie. I have to think hard to remember them all myself!
Irish - good to have those talks! They need to be informed as to what help and blessings we need here! Those on the other side are our biggest cheerleaders!
Dinner will be whatever Michael comes up with. I am dealing with a touch of vertigo. So he is cooking. He does a mean bowl of chicken noodle soup from the box or a bowl of cheerios.
So I am just staying still,
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone, rainy here this afternoon.Glad I got finished before it started.Since lunch it has rained thunder & lightning.
Got hair cut,Groceries & went by thrift shop.HFH is supposed to pick up stove but if they don’t call back soon I’m going another route.
Irish Running does wear you out but it’s good fun.Enjoy While you can.
Maryz Everytime I Water my basket the Wren flies off & squaks back at me.I hurry to let her back on.One day when I went on porch to check my other plants she sat on railing & watched me.One tried another basket but it was too full & they gave up.
Chickie Glad to hear you are Home ward bound.Sure Doyal & Hooligans will be over joyed.

Hi everyone! I'm late but finally here!
Our school this year is super weird, K-5 only had 4 weeks off of school....our %÷$@#&€£#&=%!#;/$×÷=#$@:',;&&_€:)£:"-!=/;" governor is holding after school program funding hostage, if 80% of the kids didn't start on July 2nd then she's not giving the funding for the after school programs. Mind you it was sprung on parents, teachers and schools last minute, it's not mandatory, most families already made vacation plans or just flat want their kids to have a break so they don't even have 50% right now. It's ridiculous! Jazmyne doesn't go back till the 25 which is still 2 weeks early from normal. Nobody seems to know what is going on.
We've been over 100 degrees every day lately, too hot!
We had banned food tonight and sweet potatoes.
Chickie, I'm glad you'll be back home soon, I know that's stressful.
Tina
